Kids Creche At Shows To Help Boost Entry Numbers

The WA Western Classic did that this year, asked for toys donations,c olouring books etc. The set up an activity area on the grass above the rings infront of the office adn it was a huge success, they asked that adults rotated to ensure children were safe etc -
I use a crate for sheer convenience i often attend shows on my own and i take multiple dogs. If I need the ladies room at least i know they are safe, can't run off or get injured :) but they do regularly come out and just hang around on lead :D

Is It Acceptable To Leave Dog Stools On The Footpath?
emery replied to ChloeEastwood's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree, i've been in this suburb for over 10 years and in the last few years, there are constant glass shards in the local sports field and car park, garbage thrown on the park on Sat nights from yobs gathering and as for dog poo, dont' get me started. I constantly have to dodge it and it pisses me off - I walk 3 dogs at a time and if I can pick up why can't other dog owners? Often it's people with larger dogs who seem not to worry at all. I think it's really bad when they go to the sports oval and leave it there, maybe not as bad as the pavement though because it's just far to easy for poor people to walk in it - and their dogs - they don't all seem to avoid it. If I catch people letting their dogs do a crap and they are not going to pick it up, I say "do you want a bag for that" .... they normally sheepishly accept it and say "i forgot mine" and I'm sure they know that I know they are a liar .... Not everyone is lieing when they say they forgot their poo bags. I went walking the other day and between getting three kids organised, the pram, the babies bottle, the dogs i did forget no big deal where i walk they have poo bags on every bin and my dogs never go on walks anyway. Well of course one dog did thankfully beside a tree away from where people walk not one bin bag to be found they were all empty and i had nothing on me as i forgot to grab them and i had only brought baby bottle not the whole bag so i had to leave it, noone around to ask for one either. I went back and picked it up once my husband got home but sometimes it maybe they honestly did forget their bags mine are attached to pram but i needed to refill it :) But leaving poo on footpaths is absolutely disgusting its bad enough the crap i see on our walks left on the grass etc normally right beside a bin with poo bags attached to it, -
Oooh can one come watch with their dogs?? I am doing the breed survey at our national in june with the girls and one part is a gun shot be loely if i could see how they will react to the noise before hand and work on it if i need too

People Who Blame Your Dogs, For Their Dogs Problems
emery replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep get it all the time, My dogs don't like big balck dogs or entire dogs, Well too bad your mutt doesn't train it and keep it on a bloody lead. Was training two pups on lead at the reserve had a car rock up and open door two dogs aggressively run towards said pups, yelled at the freaking idiotic owner to get his dogs or they were gonna cop a steel cap boot (that what i was wearing at the time) as we are trianing and don't want them around (it was an onlead area too) His response my dogs can say hi to whomever they want yeop and when one gets a boot or bitten maybe you'll see sense. -
What's Your 10 Second Info Grab?
emery replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Since the ban on tail docking i have often had my female rottis mistaken for labs, good way of introducing the breed when i call them over and they go oh they aren't labs, Nope they are rottweilers. Normally hten goes off on a tangent about them being so friendly etc but not many people don't know hwat a rottweielr is. -

Hi. Good luck with your future et! ET details for WA can be found on the dogswest.com website. The ET is being held on June 23 and Is hosted by the German Shepherd Club. They are also holding another in Perth on September 8 and 9. Interestingly, the German Shepherd Clubs of Vic, S.A. And W.A. Are all holding their Endurance Tests on June 23. Let's all make sure these events are well supported. You will need to train on three different surfaces. Most ETs cover paved areas, gravel and grass. M Thankyou this will work for me :) the new bikepath at our local reserve i can ride on all three surfaces yippee no need to travel far to train D:

Damn if only they were bigger :) bit tiny for the rotties :D Squash 'em in! :D Maybe if i cut their legs off LOL :p Actually the girls would probably fit they curl up really tiny LOL

Yay glad she is fitting in well :) I have been tempted to train my dogs commands in german to be different  I am sure you will have her out and about and trained in no time.
-
Ah i see. RS she will drop on command if i point down so will just have to do some proofing with her. Then i might join you ladies in the obedience world :S Maybe i'll get bedazzled or ptolomy to teach them lol :D
-
I think its a terrible practice, my first dog was a white boxer, she was neither deaf orblind nor did she suffer any skin issues. she lived 1 week shy of her 11th birthday. I understand raising and being attached only to find they are deaf would be heartbreaking, but there are people that are willing to adopt a deaf dog. Didn't realise they were unable to be registered on limited though does make it harder for registered breeders.

Thanks. i have watched an obedience trial but i can't remember what class i was watching lol i think it was CD. hmmm now do i want to teach an auto sit better go get a different collar and lead lol last thing i need is her to auto sit in the conformation ring rofl. will keep practicing her training and i better phase out my drop hand signal :D Thanks

I want to try get chandra's CCD i need to work on her drop stay but i think we can succesfully get it. can i talk to dog throughout ie verbal commands and can i use hand signals? ie for stand if i know we are coming to a stop i tell dog steady stand? can i do that? same for walk and when stop dog sits? can i tell them to sit or do they have to just do it? what about a drop on the walk can i touch ground as that hers signal?? thanks
