  1. "Toilet" I do like the "quick quick" one tho! But I don't wanna confuse him now..
  2. Okay ;) Let my introduce my fur family! This is Maverick! He is a Malamute Cross Border Collie! Maverick is a shelter pup from work, I adopted him at 8 weeks old. He is very stubborn and naughty, but very loving. I love him to bits! This is Hector! He is the new baby of the family! He is a Koolie Cross Husky. Hector is also a shelter puppy. I have only had him home a couple of nights. He is very smart and very, very loving! This is Oliver! He is my smoochy, talkative, loving boy! I adopted him from the shelter I work at when he came into the shelter with his mum and 2 brothers when he was only 1 day old! He went into foster care with one of the other staff members and he cam back as an adorable, smoochy little kitten. The foster carer kept his mum and two brothers and I took on little Oliver! This is Miki! He was the first cat member of the fur family! He was adopted from a shelter when he was on death row, he kept getting over looked for all younger kittens! Miki is very independent, he likes pats but only when he wants them. He is very, very talkative. This is Kiarla! Kiarla who's nickname is "Snarly Karly" was a little feral kitten I took on from work. She was only about 10 weeks old but boy did she have an attitude! She is still a temperamental little girl.. she only allows pats early in the morning and late in the afternoon! This is Jelly! Jelly is the peace keeper and leader of the cat pack. He came into our life when we were taking our old dog to the local vet clinic and saw him sitting in the window. He had been adopted from the vet 3 times and returned because he is deaf and they couldn't interact with him! (some people! : ) When he came home as a little kitten we kept him in the bathroom for a couple of nights so that he could get used to the environment.. He had the loudest cry I have heard from a little kitten, because he was deaf he couldn't hear himself cry! This is Jay Jay Jay Jay is a very timid, scaredy cat! He came into work when he was 4 months old, he had been hit by a car. He had a pin put into one of his hind legs. Unfortunately the bone was so badly fractured, the bone shattered around the pin. He had his leg amputated, he is still the fastest cat in the family! :D To this day he is still very scared, slowly coming around. So this is my fur family, might I add that I always have foster kittens running around the house as well! Lots of fun to be had!
  3. Well, Its morning here. Hector slept well through his first night, only got up twice He is now lying on his blankie with his toys. tez - Hector is from the Lort Smith Animal Hospital :D
  4. Thank you all, he is ever so cute! tez - Yes I was a bit nervous on the way home as Maverick can be a very over bearing, excitable, giant bundle of puppy fur! It was a slow introduction, Maverick was so happy to have a friend! It is still supervised plays and will be for a while. They truly are a match made in heaven tho, which I am so, so happy about!!
  5. The wait is over!! Here is our new baby! He came home tonight! His name is Hector He is a shelter puppy, he was listed as a Koolie Cross Husky (but who really knows..)! He is 9 weeks young and such a sweetheart! Maverick loves him and he loves Maverick! He is taking very well to toilet training and he doesn't cry at all! I love him to bits!

  9. Happy Birthday Ivan! He is looking fantastic for 11 years!
  10. Hey Guys, Are these Compost Bins from bunnings safe enough to keep puppies in while you are not home? Are they high? Sorry, I have never seen these before and my aunty was after a dog run for her pup when she was at work.. Thanks
  11. Hi TLC. My friends generally know when I take pictures at a function, that I will post them on Facebook If they specifically request not to posted on there, then I certainly don't, but otherwise most of the good photos make it on there. Also, when someone tags one of your photos and you have your settings too "only friends" can see your photos, then generally they can only see the one specific picture tagged. Hope that helped you out a bit
  12. Thanks VJB I may just give that a try as well! I like urine off for removing the little accidents from the carpet, but everything we have tried sort of just masks the smell.. The No Vacc stuff smells loverly for a while but then it wears off.. We regularly get the carpets deep steamed cleaned and use all the above remedies, but I think I will order a bottle of the Odour Go! I would prefer to use the one product as apposed to many different "small masking" products! Thanks
  13. Jane does indeed sound like the perfect match for Maverick We have the same trouble here, Maverick is also extremely "rough as guts" and he doesn't realize his size. Some people take it the wrong way but really he is just a big, energetic baby!! I'm thinking that we may just end up with a junior dog roughly his age, maybe a little younger too. Who knows, when the right one comes along, I'm sure it will be meant to be!
  14. Hi dBUG, We know how you feel, we currently moved out of a house which we never noticed smelt so much of our cats and dog until it was empty. Our guests never used to say anything It is really embarrassing. We use Urine Off (if it is a little accident on the carpet) Also No Vacc, which is a odour remover and carpet refresher. Along with getting the carpet deep steam cleaned regularly. At least your friends were kind enough to let you know. Hopefully you can find something that works for you!
  15. Thats an amazing story! So many people underestimate the intelligence of dogs, but really, they are truly amazing! Benson truly loved Dusty from the start & vice versa! So Sweet!
  16. Thanks GayleK! Thats great that they are the best of friends and have been since day one! Will have to put alot of thought into everything, bit concerned about the crying all day aspect of things. I am hoping that the right dog will come along and be a match made in heaven and they can stay together all the time!
  17. Okay, so we have finally decided to get Maverick a friend! Maverick is 14 months old and full of beans... I'm looking for a pup that will grow into a dog roughly around his size and I'm leaning more towards rescuing a pup from a shelter. If we do end up getting a young puppy, say about 9 weeks, I have a few questions where I would love some peoples opinions! I will probably take 1 -2 weeks off work, while the pup settles in. Any recommendations where should we be keeping the pup when I go back to work? We usually leave Maverick outside whilst we are not home, as he is a big boy and he is a bit of a chewer, plus we have cats that free range the house. I don't think crating the puppy for 8 - 9 hours would be very fair, I don't want to leave the pup in the backyard with Maverick unsupervised until they get used to each other and until I know Maverick won't be too rough with him while I'm not watching. I interested in looking into dog runs, so then he would be outside with Maverick but he can't get into any harm. Our other concern was, If we have the puppy inside during the day while we are at work, confined in a room, I don't want Maverick to feel left out and spend the whole day crying. Do I have my hopes up too high looking for a young pup? Should I be looking more towards a dog almost fully grown? I don't want to be unfair on the pup or on Maverick. Any opinions, thoughts, inputs would be very much appreciated!
  18. Poor Pucky! Hope he has a speedy recovery. Some people! There is a lot of glass around our area to & there is a paddock with 3 horses, and their empty dam is full of beer bottles and gas containers! Cuddles for Pucky
  19. What a classic. They must be his "comfort shoes" .. on the upside.. at least they are still all in one piece!
  20. Every dog has a "Lets go crazy and destroy everything in sight!" day.. Ah dear, you have to love em!
  21. I'm sure Maverick had the best time destroying the the contents of the back yard! In regards to the hose reel in the background.. He takes any chance he can get to "attack" the hose, because once it is on, he is running the other direction! Haha
  22. So Sorry For You Loss, Rest in Peace Sweet Clover
