  4. Well.. As you may have noticed from my signature.. I do have seven cats as a result of working there! Luckily My yard is just perfect size for the two boys and I won't be getting any more dogs for a while.. Unless I move into a house with a huge backyard of course!
  5. So you can't have Maverick stories without Hector ones to follow! Hector's Story Hector, like Maverick came from the shelter I work at. When his litter came in I got asked to "hold him for a minute" ..ahh yeah it all went downhill from there! I was on the phone begging, begging, begging mum to let me bring him home. For the first week she kept declining, then one day she called me and said .. "well we better go and get some more puppy supplies this weekend.." *insert extremely excited face in here* So I brought home this bundle of joy [9 weeks old] Hector was.. well still is an extremely energetic, bouncy, licky, over excited pup. So very different to Maverick. He loves his toys! He fetches.. Maverick looks at the ball and says "umm.. you go get it!" He really needed to grow into his ears [16 weeks old] Hector and Maverick got along from day one like a house on fire, I couldn't of asked for a more perfect pair! He loves his big brother! And here is my beautiful bouncy pup now! [10 Months Old]
  6. Try picking up foam for almost a year! He did this about a year before we moved house.. I still found foam and bits and pieces on moving day!
  7. I came out of the shadows to post Maverick's story.. where's yours?
  8. Well okay! If your inviting me in! :D The story of Maverick Maverick came into the shelter that I work at, he was one of 13 ;) in the litter! He melted my heart and it was most definitely love at first sight. (melted mum's heart too considering she let me adopt!) He came home and was just an angel of a puppy, but with confidence came cheekiness! First Day Home [9 weeks old] He grew quickly, and went through many different stages with his coat, at one stage he was a full sable colour! ;) [8 Months Old] He also went thru a very destructive stage and one night I came home to this! He has turn into a handsome gentle giant and I love him with all my heart! [18 Months] (now) I will come back and write Hector's story
  9. I love reading this thread! :D .. Just popped in to say, today at work a puppy about 6 Months came in and it looked soooooo much like little Elbie! I was like, if KTB wasn't in the ACT I would totally have thought it was Elbie, even had the crazy ear thing going! Just wanted to share .. Goes back into the lurking
  10. Awesome Turnout So Far!! .. Not Long Now!!
  11. We put the puppy play pen that we don't use anymore around the clothes line when we have clothes on it, the dogs don't even attempt to jump it.

  17. The set up made me so upset. NONE of the cats had any water left when we were there, I went over and told one of the people at the Whiskas stand and she said that she would top them up when she has a chance.. (she then went back to gas-bagging with one of the other people who was running the stall) The bengal kittens in the big cage apparently had no water "because bengals like water too much and we have to spend too much time refilling the bowl over and over" .. I think that I would prefer to have the kittens have water and keep refilling it, rather then being stuck in a hot glass box with no water at all.. As for the puppies, they were shelter puppies. The particular pups that were in the glass boxes on the day that we were that were actually only rescued the night before! So those pups went straight from a stressful environment to being stuck in a glass box and being poked and prodded by people! And I highly doubt that they would have all been vaccinated between the time that they were rescued at night to being taken to the show early in the morning. Not to mention the wormy belly. Sorry rant over, just made me terribly upset ETA: We went back to the Pet Pavilion a number of times during the day and none of the pups were ever seen to be rotated :D
  18. !! He will be 10 MONTHS at this Kepala meet!! (my little boy is growing up )
