We ended up going too. It was a good day.. Only downer on the day was when I had my back turned and this random lady came up and handed maverick some sausage and bread without asking me! What if he had of had allergies or something?! Luckily Maverick knows better and he spat it back out onto her shoes. I fuming on the inside, but nicely turned around and asked her not to feed my dog without asking me first.. or anyones dog without permission! Other then that it was lovely.

I just googled Maverick.. it means Independent. That is definitely true!

Maverick's a bit of a top gun :cool: He isn't really named after the movie Top Gun. I just really liked the name and it was one of the only ones we could both agree on!

How long have you been working there Maverick? And i love the fact that you work at a low kill shelter! That is fabulous!!!!!!!!! :D 4 very rewarding years They took me on when I left school in year 9, then employed me the day I turned 16. I'm also a foster carer, mainly for kittens but I have the odd dog or litter of pups in between

My council.. Wyndham City Council allow 2 dogs & 2 cats before needing a permit.

I have given mine a couple of pieces of the top of pizza and have never had an issue. Also tried giving my youngest some in his dinner to try and stop him eating his faeces, but it never worked..

Sorry to hear that. We have had the same incident happen here when my boy was younger, he managed to get at my rabbit I couldn't punish him, because like others have said it is natural prey unfortunately. I currently have an inside guinea pig who lives in a fort knox mansion where Maverick has no way of accessing him.

I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on the DNA tests like Bitsa and what not.. We had some interesting results come back when we did it to a couple of shelter dogs at work I also had my Kelpie cross come back as a Staffy..

I bought four, two are on Maverick's trampoline bed covered with a soft blanket and the other two the cats have claimed. I'm pretty sure it is KMart that has them normally, our Kmart has the round small dog/cat beds & occasionally these ones

well you are lucky MavericksMission, it smells much the same as when a gecko has been squashed in the sliding window and sort-of mummified and you open the window a week later...that sort of smell oh dear! hope the smell comes out soon!

I got mine today, they smelt alright

We had someone who was doing that across the road from our house in an empty estate for a while. He would pull into the estate and open the door and push the dog out and then drive around slowly, calling the dog. In the end neighbours reported him and we haven't seen him there since.
