if my dog was friendly and I was in an off lead park and 10-20 dogs rushed to me and my dog, with no recall Id get just as p*ssed off. a reliable recall should be prerequisite for any dog and owner to enter an off lead area. Its unfortunate that it isnt.

it looks like Flames Daddy and I will be forming a wall between Rex and other dogs :p Rex is fine with dogs playing around him, as long as they dont come near him, there is a crytical distance that basically can not be entered those that have seen him at K9s will know that he isnt that bad and at the last workshop when walking around was mainly off lead and didnt start any thing, but surly would finish. Rex visits off leash park its not like he kills everything in the vacinity of 100m Plus if any dogs come near him and have no recall Ill have something to whinge about - the irresponsible owners that cant call their dogs away when needed :cool: Flames Daddy - you have been hired as Rex entertainer - he loved you last time

To everyone! If Rex is to be at this meet please make sure your dogs dont run up to him, especially when he is on lead. Rex is either very fine or very not fine with dogs he meets, so if he is to meet your dog please come to me and we will introduce them properly and see if my monster eats your monster. That is any dog, any sex, and breed. I will have eyes around my head to prevent any issues, but I need some help with that, and who can help me better than educated DOL members.

Im sure K9 can offer both flesh and flash with any training he does :p :cool: I will add this spelling error to my collection, its extensive as is, but this one is really funny Watch out for more, 4 weeks of speaking Polish and you might find amazing results Plus K9 I thought that you are not bothered by a bit of a cold weather! Or is the weather an excuse for not getting the flesh out?

It might be easier if Rex stays at home. He isnt really social, and I know that there will be other dogs there not only Bear. What I menat is that Rex has lots of dobie girlfriends and if another dog plays with them he will certainly not like it, seeing Flame and Bear got on nicely, I can see that Rex will get jelous, thats all. Dobie femals are REXs and only HIS - he has exclusive rights If I bring him and all fails he can just stay in the car, not the first or the last time.

If Bear sees another dobe now he might bee keen on it again, if he happens to be keen on Rex that will certainly be a problem :cool: Oh well we will see, but there is no way Rex can run around with another entire male and there is no way that if he is on lead a dog (especailly a male) runs up to him. I guess Alibear that recall you have been practicing will have to be perfect Rexs as well I might add..., thinking to myslef - I better go back to training my monster, he had a month off, completly unrully off!

Why dont you try a martingale collar instead of a check chain, it can be adjusted to stay behind the ears. If you are in Sydney or near Sydney contact K9Force and get a lesson. He will sort it out for you in a flesh.

I might have my new puppy than Im not sure if Rex will be happy to join the crowd tho, he might just consider Flame his posession and certainly will not let Bear or any other male to play with her.....

Funny you say that becouse on the way home form the w/shop Trish and I were discussing that we should invite you to come to our club one day (for a fee) to give a talk to instructors and students. Ill try to organise when I get back.

I didnt say or assume that this dog of yours is a handfull, I said that I had an obused dog at the workshop, and what the aim of the workshop was. All the dog I had wanted to do was be away from peopel as it was fearfull oh any human. the aim was to get the dog respond to the handler, and we did it.. i really dont think that you will learn anything here, this dog need to see a pro, if you do wrong the dogs fear could turn into agression. your choice, the owners of the dog i hadled at K9s did 3 weeks of atttempts to get the dog to bond with them, and achieved less in those 3 weeks than we achieved in one day. simply becouse we had a pro advice, where they had big hearts and lacked knowledge. search to hadlers workshop - it was mid february, you will know what people thought of the dog in the before and after the workshop.

gemibabe - I dont know if you follwed the thread on the K9 handlers workshop couple of months ago. I was given a dog that was completly freaked out, obused, non responsive etc. Id say that was a bit of an extreme dog to handle. those that were there can tell you a bit more of the story. The aim of the workshop was to win the dog over and have the dog walking on loose lead, and have a hppy attitute towards the handler. If you have read the thread you would know that we all achieved it. so it can be done. K9 explaiend the pressure on pressure off, avoidance, agression (fear and rank) maybe you would benefit in attending one of his w/shops in Vic, that is if he stilll has spots available. I think it woudl certainly help you.

L&P I ahve out this video here previously, but Ill do it again for the purpose of the ecollar conversation and is the dog that has the ecollar on. Pls tell us when are the moments when the dog receives the stimulation. The handlers finger on the remote doenst mean that the dog is stumulated at the time.

I still dont understand, Im not asking about while in traing, jsut when at home doing nothing. Dog comes to the owner for pets/play, you are busy, cant play, than what? I do get the play first in the dogs mind, just not clear on what do you mean by not doing nilif. or do you mean as the first and most impressions after?

I dont understand the no NILIF while prey training, pls explain more. Im thinking NILIF for the times outside of training, while at home lazing around. Rex shakes the toy as well, if he does that I can basically lift him up on the ball, well I could if I had enough strenghts.. My legs are killing me.. I think I might start the Vietnam threat in OT

Shopping? so far purchased nothing, but Im going soon again , I think my legs basically slightly recovered Im going to order myslef a tailor made suit, but seriously there isnt any great shopping here to do, well judging by what I have seen so far.
