  1. Thanks Jeff, I thought 4-5 days as well thats why I asked for pricing from trainers for a variety of days.
  2. no idea........ depends on how much trainer/trainers would charge and number of people willing to attend.
  3. Any of the trainers that are potentially interesed in doing this can you please emial/PM me with your fee expectations. Lets say for 4 days, 5 days, a week. do you expect the travel, accomodation etc paid for? etc. Also anyone that can ask no DOL trainers can you get some pricing for me as well pls.
  4. Yes Id book out the whole place. Dogs not to sleep in the piramids either. One can camp next to the pyramids and use the facilities in the pyramids - providing those in pyramids wil let them :D Well you have like 6 months to train her not to
  5. Id say this would be a come at your own risk type of an event.
  6. I have been thinking of the accomodation that would take us and not whinge about the dogs and give us all we want and I think I know just the place. Its near the Snowy Mountains between Cooma and Tumut. Hide 'n' Rest I have been there several times during skiing season, the place is run by a retired Polish couple (Im not related to them) and offers the best of the best of the Polish style hospitality. I have rang them today to find out how much would it cost us to stay there. In the house they have 3 rooms they will charge $65/couple per room, additional bed can be put in. Dogs to sleep outside. In the pyramids $85/couple its self contained with kitchen and bathroom. sleeps 4. Plus no problems if someone wants to put up a tent $10 per tent. Meals - breakfast lunch and dinner $30/pp per day. And she is a fantastic cook. They own 43 acres, there is a flat football size area to train dogs, plus few other flat smaller fields. They have acces to the river (perfect for those retrievers) and there is another big area that is flat by the river. 60km to Cooma by normal road 40km by 4WD 13 to Adaminaby (closest place) If someone wanted to come with a partner that isnt into traing dogs there are things to do there, such as fishing in the lake, wineires to visit, etc, as per their website. discusses what time of the year would be ideal and sounds like March is the month. Each time I went there whoever was at their place absolutly loved it, the owners are like family to the visitors, they make their own beer and wine, evenigns were always spend sitting in front of the fire chatting. So what do you people think of the place???
  7. as not to put rubbish in this very important thread Here is the proposal
  8. yep 24/7 no trips down the road to get cigarettes (so to speak..)
  9. would you be interested in being a trainer and spending a week with people that love training their dogs at the DOLtrainstock if it ever took place. Wild Idea the question is not limited to those in the thread title. If you are a knowledeable trainer we would like to hear from you.
  10. Jeff Jones - rules and regulation in regards ot Police dogs and interpretation of Acts. :D FD - intoroduction to dobe lifting
  11. Arent you one of the helpers? ;) Your DOL list looks fab, who is going to ask them? Im good at collecting money and organisisng lunches, someone pls do the talking to the trainers........
  12. Nothing as yet Kavik. But we can do something, once we will be all equiped with the knowledge and motivated to train.
  13. :D ;) OMG - I throw an idea up in the air and people are choosing trainers to invite already and from O/s on top of that, dont we have enough here that would be willing to spend a week training and talking dogs only with a bunch of likeminded people? How about finding some accomodation first The way I thought about it was that IPO trainers and people like K9 cover a wide range of potential disciplines obiedince tracking protection for those who are interested drive work that can be applied to all areas of dog training level of work is usually of a high standard. Perhaps before we all jump on the bandwagon of yeah lets do it we should find out if there would be enough quorum to even consider such thing. And calculate what the cost would be etc. But I have to say Im impressed with the responce rate
  14. how much are the tailwaggers seminars and how long do they go for? The ones I looked at o/s where not that expensive, including the one with the Australian guest.
  15. hahaha searching for more I got onto some clubs website (privatelly owned) in Poland and they had Angelica Guz form melbourne as a guest trainer running some workshops. Not that I know the person, just funny how Poles got an Aussie to go over. I should really change my occupation and organise these sort of things for people around the world
  16. basically she stopped being interested in the ball (went out of prey drive and gone into defence drive) as she was in initialisation I thought she must be learning now so lets use it to my advantage. hence the question was can another drive be used to train, its undesireable but if it happends rather than ignoring it can it be used. No Im not planning to put her in defence on purpose to train her recalls
  17. anyway here is a link to the ad for those that want to see some pretty pics of Poland. http://www.modlew.com.pl/rragnarr/ogl.htm The other week last year was in Czech R. Can find the link to that.
  18. I found info in Polish but thats no good for you guys Im not suggesting to get this guy its just an idea based on what the Poles did.
  19. For the life of me I cant find the link to the website advertising the thing, but from memory they also had someone there that was doing agility. I cant imagine one guy training 88 dog for a week, had to be more. Unless he is a superman
  20. the situation was I was training in drive on the golf course. Didnt see anyone but obviously there were people about, a guy walked by in a fair distance my puppy stopped and stiffen up watching him, hackles up growl. as she was on line I called her and gave a bit of a tug and rewarded with the ball wich she took and immiediatelly droped, she still watched the guy but no hackles and no growling so I moved away and called her again she came happy got the ball and decided the fun with me is better than watching the guy. As she was in the defence drive initialisation I was thinking about what is she learning and how to utilise the drive she is in, not that I want to do it, jsut at the time. Although I attempt to set up situation I can not control everything at all times and this is a prime example of what is out of my control at times.
  21. it was run by this one trainer but hey had 15 decoys and 88 dogs there. People atending are not pure novices.
