  1. I have used it, dint really like it. The spikes are a lot sharper tahn the metal ones, the collar itself looked like it could fall appart.
  2. and we all thank you for that No actually not. I asked
  3. Thanks jaybeece. I thought Im the only one thats dumb. My line of thought was: than than if it doesnt decrease nor increase why worry about the order of eating? But now I think - the order isnt important for the dominance issue but its important for other reasons. Would be good to get the "other" reasons listed.... Also Is the order of eating part of the prevention? if so how if it doesnt increase or decrease?
  4. yes I am, so what is the reason for the TOT to mention that the dog should eat after, if its of no significance?
  5. the second sentence is in TOT not the first.... so will the dog eating last decrease the dominance?
  6. I wonder why this sentence than in TOT? I understand that the TOT is a generic program but if the eating first or last isnt important why was eating last mentioned in TOT?
  7. FD multi tasking and remining in drive. ;) and no resource guarding
  8. That is pretty obvious now, but why on earth do you teach my puppy to jump up? Im no nurse and the only medical reaction I can provide for someone is a heart attack (OH tells me I give him weak knees, but he learned to live with the condition for last 17 years ) Or is the plan that Divani and Flame jump up on RB than you FD assist her?
  9. ouch ouch I have a cut after training Ms Poisonality. Right here..... definitelly requires a band aid
  10. :p I get a lot more outside of work thats becouse I wear them more often :p Must get bruises, must get injuries so that male nurses will inspect - is it your new motto in life RB?
  11. Only if you want the assistance of a male nurse
  12. Nuuuurssssssssseeeeeeee, nuuuuurse it hurts, it really really hurts Re bruises, my legs are pretty much covered in them all the time and when te other day I was looking somewaht like a human being and wore a skirt to work instead of pants, half of the floor in a large office building came to see me She plays the main role, Im the suporting actress, but let me tell you there will be no Oscars for either of us.
  13. Im back alive only my fingers are swollen from bites and I almost got a fat lip few times, but we are working on that. Ill put some solid entertainment for you FD, but Rex wont be the main star.
  14. Rex has nothing to hide, he has an understanding family Now Im off to get obused by Ms Poisonality......... will I get a fat lip, scratches on my thighs or a "boob job" ?
  15. I must get some bloody tooth marks on my neck and I think Rex will get the role FD I wonder if that type of news would make it to the second edition of the Playdog Magazine ;) hint hint
  16. My OH wanted to, asked you and I asked you and you wouldnt let him nor me, now you say "you should try"..... Lucky I bite.......... hard, he had a good time after Just like Rex does in this pic (my fav show the teeth shot)
  17. Seita - puppys breeder wasnt happy when just before I went into the ring puppy jumped to give her a kiss and almost knocked her front teeth out........ I had a lesson in free stacking while focusing on the handler, that was pretty cool We used pack drive and a bit of food drive. And the judge was a big man with growling voice, wearing a hat - not a type of a person puppy likes......... but she was very good and did more than I asked for. Re gaiting. I think I will teach the dog two separate comands, one for the show ring one for obiedience heeling. The show one is not close enough for the ob ring, might as well have a different command for it. Just thinking out loud.
  18. I was at a show yesterday and for the group line up I had to drag the puppy half asleep out of her crate and she wasnt really willing. I got the ball out played for a moment and she was woken up than ready for the ring, but if I did that before we went for breed judging she would just jump around kissing me and the judge most likely or raiding peoples pockets in search of food or balls. I have been told that she gaits really nice (I mean as has been trained to do it nicely, apart from the natural abilities)
  19. re prey item, I had nothing on me, no toy, no food and she was hot, flat and not willing to cooperate so I picked up whatever was on the ground. Lucky it was a leaf When I first got the puppy I did the stand comand in pack drive so my pupp knew the word stand before it knew sit. I used to stack her run my hands all over her body and give her kisses so she understood stacking as part of petting. I used food to make her lean forward. I would be worried slightly to teach the sit first to gain the focus, its not what you want for the ring. Obviously with time and training any body position can be used, but I sort of teach my dogs to sit and wait before anything so they do auto sits all the time, which can be a problem in the ring. BTW Im not a very good handler, still learning.....
  20. Seita - I dont know if you have beent to K9s workshops or not but the first basic excercise in TID is a sit command than the focus is build from there - correct me if Im wrong pls. You would certainly want to avoid the dog going in front of you and doing an auto sit as it waits for a ball or the next comand, so you jsut need to think of an excercise that will practice the stack. As for the focus, in my breed the arch of the neck is an important thing, and if the dog looks up at you it wont arch the neck, so althought it might be impressive and "cool" might not be ideal for some breeds. Here is an example for you, the boy (on the left) looks down, the girl looks at me for a dobe the boy is in a better stack. You might also see that Im holding a leaf for her to focus on, as she was flat and didnt want to stand I used a bit of drive to motivate her.
  21. I do. Well to the extend of the limitations of my dogs prey drive. I do not use prey drive in the ring, for now my girl doesnt have enough focus. I would use the prey before going in the ring if the dog was lacking motivation, but not on the dog that is eager as prey drive training is a high energy, often jumps etc, which in the show ring you want to eliminate (the jumps that is). The focus on the handlers face is fantastic if you are able to free stand your dog and be at the front, if you need to hold on to your dog for the exam, that can create a problem as if you move around the dog and it looks at your face up it might break the stack. Also in the gait the dogs should have the head up and be looking straight ahead, not really at your face. What motivators do you curently use Seita? and how?
  22. my OH and my two best friends are arieses. I have it hard with them as a capricorn, but at least if we plan something they know Ill be persistant enough to organise it for all of them and just watch how they fight :D Sorry it was me that took this completly off topic, appologies.
  23. This is Lablovers Yank. Note the wash behind him. Even the foot long rope on the end of the bumper cannot be seen due to his speed.
  24. yep Aus :D just tell you ever so often that you are the greatest ;)
