The Beginning Of The End
MonElite replied to Herr Rottweiler's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Actually Herr Rott, I hate the threads title, its too depressing and its actually indicating as to what is going to happen. I think it should be changed to "lets do something to prevent ...." Set the minds up upfront. As a first step I think that the two sch organisations need to work together, and unless they unite there is not enough power in one or the other to fight this. -

Sch dogs are trained to OUT a lot better than police/security dogs. Think about it, sch dog is judged for precision and for obeying commands. Police dog is trained to capture a man and not let him get away. Sch dogs have usually far better obedience. Dont know about tracking but sch tracking is step tracking which is very precise. -

Canon 400d And Canon 40d What Is Difference?
MonElite replied to dogdogdog's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
You might have problems finding 400D in the shops as its been discontinued. Its been replaced with 450D so perhaps have a look at it. I have a 450D, Im not a pro, I find it easy to use and it takes nice pictures. -

Im wondering if the dog is actually tuging the toy (being in prey drive) or tugging the food (being in food drive) I would be worried about tugging of food, IMHO it could create possessiveness behaviors over food. I dont really understand the purpose of this toy, dogs tug in prey drive so if they are being rewarded with food this isnt developing their prey drive only food drive And if you are to reward with food because the dog loves food why not just do that direactly rather than via a sophisticated toy?? Or why not just tug with a chicken wing?

and you have a tracking harness too does it fit?

Im pretty sure they will do protection this coming Monday.
-
Was there a sleave involved when you have seen him? They train on Monday if you want to go and have a look.
-
The only thing is Kavik that you have seen this dog OUT of drive. What you have seen was a clicker trained heeling and changes of positions. They were not trained in prey drive obviously... You should come and see when there is a prey item around. Mind you his self control due to training has drastically improved.
-
He is talk of the town now LOL Ill let the owner know. He is VERY impressive, I drool over his obedience and willingness to work. If only he shut up sometimes.. Kavik Id like to see YOU with him and than you can tell us if its too much drive or not

Did I miss something Why roll the eyes in the first place than?

well he is crazy. No there is nothing wrong with the dog, other than extreme drive. I ahve never seen him train and for a split second think of giving up on biting, chasing etc. He will drop dead from physical exhustion before he will be satisfied. I will video him for you guys one day, he is a pleasure to watch being trained, and lucky he has a owner that he has as no doubt this dog would not be suitable as an average pet.
-
I will ad to my previous post that I have never seen anything like taht dog. Noone in the sch club has ever seen anythinig like that dog. Litter sister and brother are both SchIII dogs and are not like this one.
-
My friends working lines mali has an extreme drive. He also has very strong nerves. His problems is that he goes from zero to a hurdered in a split second, his threasholds to drive are really low, he will see something and he is off. This dog is on or off nothing in between. She has got very good obediene wtih him, but overal this dog has too much drive, for schutzhund including.

Quick question I have a DSLR Canon 450D Can I put a lense that fits a FILM canon camera onto my digital? I noticed on ebay there are some cheap lenses to buy, and I suspect they are for film cameras not for digital thats why they are so inexpensive.

Toileting During Bike Ride
MonElite replied to ultrarealist's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
In addition.... Appologies for graphic description below... if you let your girl pee before the bike ride she shouldnt have a need to pee for an hour, its strange she does. Poo on another hand needs some time, so I suggest ride for 15-20 minutes than let her off to toilet and she should be fine for the rest of the trip. As I have dobes its easy for me to see their anus when we go bike riding and I can see it opening, so I than stop and let the dog toilet. But even if you miss the signs and she toilets and you drag her I doubt you will hurt her. -

Running helps bowel movements. Why dont you ride for half the distance, stop let her off for a toilet break and than continue? Both my dogs preffer to toiled off lead BTW, will go on lead if they must but its quicker if I let them to do it off lead. -
Oh what sad news first thing this morning. Like Erny said he gave you lots and gone peacefully. He will be waiting for you on the other side of the bridge.

Desexing or chemical implants dont teach the dog to recall. Lots of training does, I suggest you get some advice asap as the longer you leave it the worse your dogs recall will be. Looks like the dog is already making its own decisions on when and how to come.
