Schutzhund is about obedience, tracking and character work. They train in drive and talk a lot about different drives. If you have no idea aobut drives then you wont understand anything, if you know the basics you will. Often retrieving people visit sch seminars as principals of training are very simmilar. They will talk a lot about correcting specific problems that a particular dog will have, such as chewing of the dumbell, such as not releasing on comand, such as forging while heeling etc etc.

She does have a swan looking neck tho, just like her mother. But her mother is now well over 40kg, admittedly looking a bit porky, but she was always near the 40's anyway. Im affraid to weigh both of them The males from the litter are now 26kg Oh BTW that Polish bitch was actually quite small, my would tower above it. -

Some lovely habits she aready has include bench surfing, putting paws on absulutly everything, she can not come to me without leaping through the air and jumping on me, no matter how hard she tries, its just compulsory to put her oversize paws on me every single time. She is a top thief, better then Divani and Divani is super good. She can open the door already as well, at 17 weeks.... Repertoaire includes loud barking to get attention and to initiate play, pawing other dogs and annoying them no end. She probably can tug all day every day 8 hours straight if given an opportunity. Not that I have tried, but she seems to be willing. Other things include grabbing of my hands and not letting go, even if I REALLY yelp. Results are clearly visible. No matter what I have in my hand she has to put her teeth on it. Even if its higher then my head, she will try to jump up to get it. Oh did I mention that I took her to puppy preschool? All othe doggies did nice stays I had the child with ADD. She has stolen a tug toy from my pocket and we were tugging for most of the class (which was a lot easier then listening to her bark at other dogs and me to play with her), and when she dropped it just for a split second I managed to hide it. She decided that the vet nurse looks friendly enough and jumped straight onto her lap. The whole 22kg of her jumped. Should she stop living up to her name, you are welcome to have her I dont think she is as fruitloopy as the bitch in the pics but that is extreme :D Furia is just a nice bubbly personality. -

Its illegal to crop (not sure about docking) in Poland, however most of the dogs are cropped and docked. Its OK to show a cropped/dock dog there. Those that want to go and show in some other Euro countires where showing of cropped/docked dog is not legal are starting to get used to the idea that they might have to have a whole dog. But they dont like it. Ive seen more dogs with natural ears now then what I have seen few years ago. havent seen one with a tail, most at the show I went to were cropped and docked, some had natural ears, but there were no tails. Seen a boxer and rottie with a tail at the show. What do they think about our regulations - no idea, I havent asked, most people I spoke to like their dogs cropped and docked. -

Erny - it was a soccer field I think its the top part of the goal. As to me importing a dog, yeah if and when I win lotto In all seriousness, if I had the room I would order one yesterday, but I dont have the room, nor the money. However.... the bitch in the pics has a daughter (brown) The daughter is only young about 15 months, and showing even better potential. I also have seen a male that I wanted to take home and said that if those two have pupps I want one. Both owners were there and spoke about it and said that maybe in about 4 years time they would do this breeding. So by then I have to get a farm and lots of money Let me dream.............. For now I have this fruitloop she is nice and likes being trained. Lets see if she can do anything.... -

There was a Czech girl there too training to be decoy. She was BRILLIANT!!!!!!!! Little woman with a lot of character and obviously a lot of strenght, she did dog after dog on a hot day. One of the decoys had an accident on the first day and cut his hand really bad so he couldnt work the dogs, the other 3 had to take his workload and the girl was first one to take any dog on. She would have been about 160cm tall. Ill try to find her pic. -

nah, she is a good dog this was interesting - they call it little street, this is when they put all the dogs in two rows, psyche them up and send the decoy running throught the middle http://akagera.pl/forum/album_pic.php?pic_...79adb412ac7b4f9 or when they had 3 pitbulls and a bandog, trained to work together and they send them onto the decoy together. Unfortunatelly I dont have a pic, only of the two dogs, they were both entire males. http://akagera.pl/forum/album_pic.php?pic_...79adb412ac7b4f9 http://akagera.pl/forum/album_pic.php?pic_...79adb412ac7b4f9 I will add - all these dogs were family pets. -

...cont I want her baby -
When I was in Europe I went to see a training camp that some people organised for their dogs. There were about 50 dogs and 4 decoys, and they were all training for schutzhund. The camp was for 3 full days and the group stayed at motel that had heaps of room for dog training and even tracking. I got a demo of what a nice dobie can do, she was awesome, she has IPOII title, bred, owned, trained and handled by someone that I have been emailing with for about 6 years. The owner is a 27 yo woman, and this bitch was from her first ever litter, she is about 6 yo now and just had a litter. The excercise was that there is a "bad man" driving a car. The handler yells "stop the car or I send the dog". The bad man shoots the gun through the open window and the handler sends the dog. The dog jumps into the car and the bad man tries to escape, the dog captures the man outside the car. It is an absolutly spectacular stuff, and the funniest part was that the decoy couldnt open the door to escape so he had to fight this dog in the car first while trying to open the door I will add that this bitch is also a show champion. Enjoy! more to come

Try Menai Vet Clinic. I think they do it on Thursdays at 7pm. I know the person that runs the puppy preschool, brilliant trainer. Also vet nurses there are really nice and helpfull.

I Give Up With Training Diesel
MonElite replied to Kavik's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Rather then motivating the dog you correct the dog and dog learns that if he complys with the comand he avoids corrections. Thats a VERY short description. -
I have an opportunity to purchase a soft tunnel and seasaw but Im not sure if the size of them is correct and good enough for a dobe. Soft tunnel is 60cm diameter and its 5 m long Seasaw is 300 x 54 x 34 cm are they correct sizes?

I think Im going to give up on the adult tho, puppy is so much more fun, and not enough time for all of them. I will try to get her ob title tho, she can do it, so why not. But pupp, oh that is something else One good dog to train is better then 3 shitty ones, and you have got one! -

Im pretty sure that you wont want to do this, but as for training methods there is motivational and there is avoidance. I spoke to a great and a VERY sucessfull trainer and competitor in sch recently and she told me - if the dog has no motivators you either get another dog or you go into training in avoidance. We were talking about sch at the time, but this would apply to your situation too. She is however extremly experienced and I had seen how she trains, the avoidance trained dogs look happy too. Its not something I would be able to do tho. I had to just give up on training Rex, it was not for the reason you have, I just let Rex be and I enjoy him as a total pet. Love my boy with all my heart, regardless of competitions.
