  1. Well Im going food shopping on Thursday and will be cooking up a great BBQ on weekend. Im also going to try to take some photos if I get a chance. Looking forward to meeting those competing and spactating
  2. Nathan from Doggonemad 0424673763 will come to your home.
  3. You could do whats called scent pad, but I think this will be what you will get explained at your first session. If they are teaching the dog to track using food make sure your dog is hungry when you go for your session.
  4. What I wanted to say is that in the little time during his life that I have spend with him he seemed like a typical dobermanm, he was not over the top in anyway. Have you tried teaching him to track, that seems to tire them a lot. Mentally that it. When I get home its dark as well now, I know what you mean, my dogs dont get any dalight time with me at all. I played tug with the puppy last night for nearly 2 hours on and off, seems she never has enough of it, I was eating dinner and put a tug toy around the chair and she was tugging on it .
  5. I dont know what you do or dont do with him but I met Luka when he was in Sydney when he was a puppy and I have spend significant amount of time with him. To me he is a typical, perfectly normal dobermann, maybe a bit more drive then average (and average dont have much) so I put your problems down to the fact that he is not mentally stimulated enough. That perhaps resulted in developement of those unwated behaviours. What is his typical day like?
  6. You certainly can pop the prong collar, Many dogs learn to walk on the prong and pull. Perhaps you need to do more of this. One dog at the time.
  7. Ecollars are not fool proof. With any tool timing of a corretion is important.

THE WINDOWS OF OPPORTUNITY FOR THIS SPORT ARE ALWAYS LIMITED, AS SCHUTZHUND STRUGGLES HERE UNDER GREAT ADVERSITY. THUS EACH AND EVERY TEAM THAT ENTERS DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! YOUR SUPPORT DOES COUNT! THE FUTURE OF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS IN THIS COUNTRY WILL RISE OR FALL ON THE ABILITY OF EACH YEAR'S EVENT TO SUCCEED. WITH ONLY A FEW WEEKS TO GO NOW, SA ARE URGENTLY LOOKING FOR MORE ENTRIES FOR ALL LEVELS. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A SUPERSTAR TO COMPETE, YOU JUST NEED TO TURN UP AND KNOW THE PROGRAM. DUE TO THE LEGISLATIVE DIFFICULTIES HANGING OVER THE SPORT IN MELBOURNE, THIS HAS PREVENTED MANY HAVING A SEAMLESS TRAINING LEAD UP IN THEIR PREPARATIONS - ONE CONSEQUENCE IS MANY HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO ENTER THEIR DOGS FOR THE EVENT. ALSO BECAUSE OF THIS SITUATION IN VICTORIA, WARATAH CLUB HAS GENEROUSLY PICKED UP HOSTING THE EVENT THIS YEAR BUT IT IS A SMALL TRAINING GROUP THAT CANNOT FIELD DEPTH IN THEIR LOCAL TEAM ENTRIES AS IS NORMAL FOR THE HOST CLUB. BUT PRECISELY AT THIS TIME THE SPORT DOES NEED ALL THE HELP IT CAN GET AND SUPPORTERS TO MAKE THE EXTRA EFFORT TO COME ALONG. EACH AND EVERY ENTRY COUNTS, AS DOES THE SUPPORT OF THE SPORT'S SPECTATORS. AWARDS ARE ON OFFERING FOR ALL OFFICIAL SPORTDOG DISCIPLINES, FROM BH (Companion Dog), OB 1-3 (Obedience only), TR 1-3 (Tracking only), WD 1-3 (Obedience and Protection only), SCHH 1-3, FH 1-2. NB: THOSE TRAVELLING TO THE EVENT, YOUR ACCOMODATION HUTS NEED TO BE BOOKED NOW (SPECIAL SPORTDOG RATES ARE ON OFFER). PLUS WARATAH SECRETARY WOULD LIKE PEOPLE TO SEND HIM AN INDICATION OF THEIR ATTENDENCE SO HE CAN GET AN IDEA OF NUMBERS FOR HE CLUB CATERING. HOT MEALS EXPECTED TO BE AROUND $12. PASS THIS INFORMATION ON TO ANY OTHERS WHO SHOULD BE ENTERING OR ATTENDING. SO GET UP AND AT IT GUYS - THIS IS YOUR SPORT AND YOU CAN TAKE PART OR JUST COME ALONG TO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEAMS - IT WILL BE A GREAT WEEKEND MEETING AND GREETING WITH ALL OUR SPORTDOG FRIENDS FROM AROUND AUSTRALIA! ALISON
  9. So no person that works full time will get one of your dogs? Wow. Are Cavs so different to other breeds?
  10. Ok Luke this is what I like/dislike first one - I like the rays coming down from the sky but the sand looks too yellow to me, unnatural for a cloudy day. Original photo does nothing for me, its too grey, maybe I would turn it to black and white, dont know. second one - the bridge and the dogs colour look more natural in the original , but I like the vignette effect in the ps one. Third - same expect the water in the original looks shocking hence I like the colour of water in the ps one more, plus original needed to be cropped, and you have done that nicely. Forth - same as second Fifth - same as 2 and 5 and whatever is in the background that is yellow doesnt look natural, neither is the colour of the grass its nearly fluoroescent. Sixth - same as 1, the ps one looks arty to me and I like it more then original as original is too grey. But ps one is full on ps, its not making the photo look natural. As I said - I like what people can do in PS and this is what I like here All in all I like some changes but some things look artificial to me.
  11. I wouldnt have a clue how to manipulate the photos in Photoshop and I always admire what some people can do. but.... I actually like some of your original photos more then the finished products. Does this make me a purist?
  12. What? training was on? I thought grounds were closed and I didnt go
  13. Im at the show that day at EP so Im might come down with the pupp. Wont take Divani, she wears me down, I cant hold her and it not fun for ME. She loves it.
  14. hey ruthless, maybe this will make you feel better http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=170362
  15. I dont know any people at trials so it does get a bit boring. But in no time Pax we will be going to trials together and I can always be last then.
  16. In fact I have a webcam too, brand new never used, you can borrow it if you wish
  17. Today he was not in a room all alone, he was with another dog...
  18. I'm guessing he could hear/smell/see what was going on? he wasn't in a l room all alone? No he couldnt. He would be in the car and we would be on the field. Car was closed, we were significant distance away. When you got back, you wouldnt know if he whinged when we were at the distance training Trixie.
  19. Ruthless and I used to train sometimes together. She would bring Chopper and Trixie. When Trixie was out being trained Chopper would happily sit in the car in the crate. So he can be quiet.
  20. 1. You should confirm the plan with the trainer. 2. Have couple of shots of vodka to settle your pain tonight 3. Call me in the evening 4. Come to training tomorrow night
  21. I didnt see anything about punishing the dog. Just about continuing with the new routine of taking two dog out and leaving two others in crates. And I dare say muzzle was suggested to muffle the noise, but again I could be wrong.
  22. I belive the word tantrum was used by ruthless, and there is no mention of the trainer diagnosing its as that. ETA Than again maybe it was, I just rered Ruths posts.
  23. If the trainer is who I think it is, the trainer knows Ruth and knows her dogs well. Also knows what arrangements they have at home and what is Ruths relationship with the dogs. That trainer trained many dogs very sucessfully. The trainer is not all positive tho. I also know Chopper and had seen him being very ok in a crate many times on his own, so its not that he doesnt understand the concept of being alone and in the crate.
  24. Alternativelly you move out from your house for a while and Dave sorts the dogs out. I have faith in him
