  1. This is not for in home, you will need to travel to him, but can not think of anyone better in the Sydney metro area. K9Force.net
  2. Are you able to take a photo and post it for us, it must be a thrill to see so many dogs behaving so well together.
  3. The ones I go to dont display lamb necks or offcuts. You have to ask for it. I ask for specific stuff, otherwise they usually dont understand and try to point stuff on display. Ask for box of chicken bones each single one sells them cheaper than by kg qty. Good luck, its fun trying to comunicate and explain what you want :D but worth it.
  4. WTF Chicken carcass' here cost about $2 PER KG!!! Pet mince costs around $3-$4 plus per kg, marrow bones cost about $4 each... where do you live??? I think I'll move there!!! I live in Sydney and I pay: $4 for 10kg of carcasses from a chinese butcher. $1.20/kg of pet chicken mince from a chicken shop in a Westfield shopping centre - can be found cheaper, but this is convienient for me. $1.00/kg for lamb necks - chinese butcher again off cust the same. another chenese butcher sells lamb necks for $1 each (less than a kg each) And the are all cut to the size I want! $1.50 chicken necks - poultry wholesaler $1.69 chicken wings - 3 shops at westfields sell them for that much.
  5. 5.5 yo doberman that gets to run around leash free for 30-60 minutes a day. About $25 a week, and I shop around for cheaper supplies. I also give suplements so that makes a bit of a increase. He is fed BARF.
  6. Akitagal - for Melbourne - contact K9 Force directly.
  7. I think we have enough people to fill in all places. Can all of you please PM me your email address.
  8. Another person = another spot booked = another fee paid. Worth every cent mind you.... OH could bring another dog (if you own 2 that is...)
  9. if he decides to yapp all day it might be best not to bring him. There is no way you will make your dogs fear agression stop by bringing the dog to 1 day workshop.... however you would get info on how to do it yourself later progresivelly. Also dogs dont learn to reaclll in 1 day, but you would get the instructions on how to teach your dog to recall. Its up to you to put the hard yards in after.
  10. Kurrajong Heights is one of the last suburbs in Sydneys north west, almost up in the mountains. You would not miss out if you came with no dog. Majority of peole bring the dogs but some preffer to have some freedom and not to worry about looking after their dog, so that they can concentrate more on what Steves says (instead of trying to make your dog stay in a down position)
  11. :D Am :D :D yes DEAF. I typed it looked at it and thought - it doesnt look right.... but couldnt think of the alternative :D ;) BTW - you must have read whats in my signature :p This adds to my collection of classics death - deaf pray - prey (drive) distruction - distraction I bet there there is plenty more - Im just not aware what they are
  12. Oh, its nice to see this subject back up, I was almost worried that there will not be enough people to run it as I had only few people asking to put their name down for it. General workshops run by Steve are of benefit to anyone, including those that dont even have a dog at this stage. It is priceless info that you can keep for life and can be applied to any dog at any time. To each workshop people brought their dogs, everyone had some sort of the problem. So first half of the day is the theory part the second part is the problem solving for the particular dogs that are there. Often people find that in the theory part some of their issues are addressed :D Peoples problems (so far) are quite common - dogs jumping up, pulling on lead, becoming death, no recall plus some have dog to dog agression. There were some that had something not so common like chasing of a tail. Everyone has an opportunity to put their problems forward, ask questions and have them answered. all of the probles are lsited and each one is addressed, where everyone listens as it most likely applies to them as well. As majority of people have a problem with their dog pulling on lead there is a practical demo of Steve taking someones dog and teaching it to walk on loose lead. There is an explanation of every move done by Steve as well as the dog, explanation of dogs body language and if you watch this carefuly and remember the theory learned in the morning you will be able to walk out from the workshop, apply the stuff you learned and teach your dog yourself. Majority of the time peoples jaws drop to the gorund in disbelief how quickly this can be done. Ask ninaandted about her golden retriever...... that arrived dragging her OH and left walking nicely by his side. The rule is one dog per person, some people come with no dog at all. I have put all of your names down and still have couple of spots left. If this subject drops down I will bring it up in couple of weeks to check if you are all DEFINITE and we will go from there. It will be held at Steves place in kurrajong Heights (Sydney north west) 10am -5 pm (or there abouts)
  13. OH had done "take from my mouth" last night. This is soooooo funny. Rex took bits from his mouth (grossssss) gently, no face contact at fist but at the end Rex got so eager that OH got a big slobbery kiss on his lips , jumped off the lounge and run for his life to the kitchen to wash his face. I rolled on the floor laughing. ;)
  14. I imagine this happens becouse he is very young and not fully coordinated. Perhaps practice when you are throwing it from your hand at first so it goes high up first and he gets to watch it. If he tries and just misses it its almost good enough (I bet some will dissagree with me) and he can have a verbal reward for trying, but he is not to get the food off the ground. Have him on lead and dont walk, start by standing and facing him at first. I hope I gave the right info...... been known recently to do something wrong although instructions were given to me.
  15. Sorry, I meant that this will be the last one IN SYDNEY for the year.
  16. Due to popular demand K9 Force had agreed to run another workshop. This will be the last workshop Steve will have this year so if you were thinking about attending one of them - here is your last chance for 2005. There were few people that wanted to come to the July one and for some reason were not able to attend, there were few that wanted to but missed out as there wre no more spots available. I have deleted all messages so I dont know who wanted to come etc. So if you were on a list at some stage please PM me again as I can not remember who was. Cost is $90 per person, lunch included. For those that have not heard about those seminars here is what some attentees of the last one said http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?showtopic=31753
  17. I've been to the Sydney one twice and my dog is hopeless, however became better the second time and managed to do full runs with another dog (that was extra keen) If I can give advice to those that never done this before or dogs are hopeless find a dog that does it and send your dog together with a "teacher" 2 hopeless ones make it fun to watch but usually dont end up running LOL
  18. As the direct answer - yes I know - no stimuli no drive no learning etc, but when I think of my dog playing with the other and showing agression over a ball I think I should just take the bl**dy ball and not give it to anyone.... (that is the wrong lazy attitute) This weekends ball play will be with the lead attached. (getting better and being proactive)
  19. What would happen if the item is all together removed?
  20. Thanks pucksapunch - I knew I might be wrong.... however since there are few steps/parts of the "drive" the last one (the bite) is a step and is a reward. Now K9 will come and will tell me that I should watch those videos again And I really shouldnt talk.... after all I never trained my dog in prey drive, whats more my dog has no prey drive anyway But I love the discussion
  21. No they are a married couple and she is preagnant (with him) He is just checking if the pupps are moving LOL caring father LOL
  22. corect me if Im wrong someone, please my understanding of prey is a chase not a tug. Yes the dog might get a bit of a tug as a reward but prey is actually not giving it, giving it or a tug is a reward.
