  1. :D Soon I will start presenting for him I think only kidding I will most likely come, unless something drastic happens, but I will definitelly be late and will have to leave early. So I will butt in with my questions before everyone else ;) If you have the info especially about turkey I will be greatfull.
  2. Where in Flemington do you go? Can you please find out for me how much for lamb necks, how much for chicken necks (no skin) and how much for some pet mince (beef preferably). Oh and turkey necks and wings and any ohter turkey parts suitable. I got some turkey butts from someone in the past, that was excellent. It was like a the loin area of the bird, the bones of the spine with some meat on them.
  3. I dont really know anyone, I know the faces thats about it... the bald guy stands out - sheer size does. ;-) I was never looked upon in a "good" light I have a show gr ch, you know, that is like Im the "opposition" LOL Mind you I was chatting to a lady that I know and she also has a gr ch dobe. someone from sch world aproached her and told her that its very nice to see a show person at this event. She pointed out at me and said - we both have show ponnies, doesnt mean we are not interested in this sport as well.
  4. You can or just have a strong lead on and stay away from other dogs. Bring some special collars if you use them, or a toy if you train with it.
  5. No it wasnt a bald guy, I recognise that one, it was a tall guy but not that one. LOL @ silly Sch people. The moment I arrived and got the dog out of the car I was told that he wasnt supposed to be there as he was not competing...... but a rottie pupp went by and I asked if the pupp is competing LOL
  6. Some guy........ We went right at the back behind the shed, behind the hill, there was noone there, except a car with dogs inside parked by the shed (that one where the equipement is kept - the container that is) He said that we are upsetting the dogs in the car. They were not barking at us at all - we were about 50 if not meters away form them, they did bark when we went pass the car on the way back , I mean far away from the car. It was OK, they compete I understand they dont want the dogs unsettled.
  7. When I find some time at home I will put couple of videos on the net for everyone to see. Unfortunatelly I didnt tape the best dog
  8. We were there during lunch as well, being completly bored we took Rexy out at teh back and played ball with him, but it was short lived as I was told to put him back on lead despite the fact we were far away from everyone/everything. There will be next time for sure, unless you want to make it this weekend ;-) and go to the workshop with Steve (someone pulled out today)
  9. if no photos how on earth was I supposed to know There will be next time, for sure. Oh damn and you have missed my lovely sexy Rexy, the dobe that demands pets from strangers. I left him in the car for a while. But than played with him in the car park for looooong time.
  10. if I knew you is you I would have come over! I guess I should have visited the personal photos subject before hand. When you have seen us what I with the dog or without?
  11. Vegies are really easy to prepare, its convincing the dog to eat it is the problem I occasionally feed Scottys rolls, they are $6.50 each 2kg. Rex will eat 1kg a day. That is the most expensive food he gets (apart from treats) Scottys rolls are all natural, meat veg and barley, no preservatives, colouring etc. Alibear maybe start with that and some raw chicken for now. That is easy and inexpensive.
  12. sas - are you a definite? You can pay Steve on the day if you want, but I need to know if you are attending for sure 100% - just in case I will have someone last minute that wants to come.
  13. The instructor that everyone is talking about had some followers that looked up to him, and that was my point. If I was in a class and my dog wouldnt be behaving they would say - go to XXX he is really good and will fix your dog. Yeah fix my dog.......... right.......... Dont forget that there is a club n Peakhurst that trains on Saturdays afternoons, its not that far form the shire to get to.
  14. Trust me, its REALLY easy. OK its a bit more difficult than pouring kibble into the bowl, but not that much. And Bear will not be sick. He might not like some things in the beginning. I will pm you my work number, you can call me during the day anytime. As to going half BARF half non BARF - yeah, pure BARFers will not agree.... My boy occasionally gets some dried food. I mean occasionally. Just as often as I eat McDonalds.... and that is not often and in desperation.
  15. Alibear you can call me if you like (Its just too much to type) I feed Rex BARF for many years now. Its EASY and way less expensive than Hills.... You do need a juicer or a good food processor.
  16. There is some equipement and everyone can use it, but there is no official jumping or agility training. some people will give you tips etc, but nothing formal. Equipement is out before the class and long after the class and as long as there is an instructor present you can just go and do your own thing. And if you want to help there is a lot more equipement that can be taken out if we wish to, but its heavy and help to carry it is reguired. Usually the A frame is left behind. There is not hard tunnel at all.
  17. To me there were 2 stand outs. One a male belgian that did everything with a speed of light and so ubelivably happy to be there and work. Just coudnt helpt himself, and wanted to jump out of his skin for the handler. Another was a dog that did everything nicely but it was clear how the dog was trained. It feared the handler......... It was great to watch it, certainly very impressive. Malinwar why did you come over to say hello? Yes it was me with Kavik.
  18. Calzen I belong to the club at Peakhurst, that trains on Saturday afternoons. you might find Casima there too...... Surly its not an ideal club but that one certain person that we all know is certainly not there.
  19. Never told anyone not to go to that club. I only say dont go to certain instructors, find out who they are, and people around there know who they are......... it doesnt seem to be a secret........
  20. Im the youngest instructor at my club, but I can assure you that whatever I say gets noted and if I made a complaint about an instructor or the methods than MORE THAN ONE uses there would be something done about this. All I wanted to do is give people a warning, not everyone is a good instructor (myslef included), but an inexperienced person will not be able to identify that. I was such person. I have a dog of a "strong" breed an entire male, surly he is agressive becouse he is dominant... I listened to advice and only made things worse......... All Im saying is to joannakathleen is to find a good instructor, dont be affraid to ask around, learn more by yourself, go to a professional person etc. animalsluvbree - I will PM you the name of a "offending" person. i also belive that Im not the only person taht hold that opinion. There were several people that left the club becouse of the same reasons. Must be something in it, Im not the only one crazy here....
  21. I guess I should perhaps clarify what I mean by wrong information. My dog is dog agressive. For each sign of agression I was told to "get into him" and "not to let him get away with this sort of behaviour" In effect that has only supressed my dogs worning signs, and he became better and quicker at biting other dogs. My dogs problem is fear agression but no instructor managed to identify that and help me to work within the boundaries of my dog. After getting know K9 Force and having things explained properly I often would walk out from the class during excercises that I felt would put my dog in a uncomfortable position. I ahve tried to explain why I do this, that this is a recommendation of a professional behaviourist. That would only fall on deaf ears and I would be told that I am waaaaay to soft with my dog. Again - majority of people were really nice and if I walked out from the class that would not be commented on in the wrong way, but there were some that I just would not take what I say at all and always knew better.... I guess the word of a professional behaviourist didnt mean much to them.
  22. Although I love dog training and Im an instructor now myslef in another club all I can say that at the Sutherland club there are a couple of instructors that should not be instructing. I bet they have the dogs best interests at heart but I feel that they information of the methods is slightly (hmmm how do I word it??) incorrect. I would stay away from them, one especially springs to mind........ Im sorry animalsluvbree if this is not what you wanted to hear and I hope that you are not one of the people I have in mind, but I have been a member of this club and learned that its better not to go there any more. Majority of people are great but I never knew who is going to take my class and would not risk going to instructors that I felt were giving me the wrong information. JMPO.
