Hi Vi, I didn't realise Charlie had a rare illness. You have probably explained it in depth somewhere on here but do you mind me asking about it? You sound like such a loving owner and Charlie is so lucky to have you! It is so nice to hear of people who love their pets like one of their family members! ;)

Poppy is a Cavalier X and is 3.4 Kg at 11 weeks. I often look at her and wonder if I am feeding her enough...although she does have a cute little pudgy puppy belly! He looks and sounds healthy to me (even tho Im no expert)! ;)

Councillor's "animal Killers" Claims Puts Pet Desexing I

I think if it helps stop BYB then GREAT!!! I DO think desexing could be less expensive though! That may also help! -
Where Are Your Dogs When You're On Dol?
PoppyDog replied to poochmad's topic in General Dog Discussion
Atm Poppy is under my feet snoozing! Other times she is in her bed, or chewing her toys or sometimes up on the couch trying to climb onto the laptop! Haha! -
Hi Everyone... Just after some feedback on The Country Pet Motel in Glamorgan Vale near Ipswich! Actually am after feedback on ANY kennels in the Ipswich area! Thanks in advance! ;)

Bully - Thanks! That was my worry! I got her chipped on Wed and she was fine! What is the tattoo?
-
Thanks Poodlefan! I thought it would be. Just like a human when they have a vac! The vet did say it could be itchy so she might scratch at it and so I guess that means it could cause a reaction. She hasn't been itching or scratching at it thought...she seems blisfully unaware! How long till it goes down?
-
My 11 week old CKCS X had her 2nd lot of vac's on Wednesday. She was also microchipped. I have just noticed a lump on the back of my puppies neck. I'm pretty sure its in the spot the vac was given NOT the spot she was microchipped. Is this normal?

I can't find Puppy Plush Shampoo on that site you sent me to Poodlefan! But WOW! The aloeveen is half the price I payed! Can you direct me to where I can find Puppy Plush?
-
Poodlefan - I LOVE the smell of aloeveen! And yes it was exxy but I shopped around and found it for $20. It was $36.95 at PP! I had heard good things about Plush Puppy too but haven't seen it in any of our local petshops yet. Might have to buy online!

It's a very good shampoo. I don't like it but that's got nothing to do with its quality. Excellent! Thats what I'm using! Can I ask why you don't like it and what you would use instead? Hmm...that is a good point! She was VERY good during bathtime last week! Would like her to be very good during all bathtimes so I guess now is a good time to get used to it! She does need a bath too! I've been wiping her tummy and paws down with huggies baby wipes everytime she comes in dirty from outside but it just doesnt do the job! Lol1

Poodlefan - Is aloeveen what you would consider a decent shampoo?
-
So I know you shouldn't bath puppies too often so as not to dry out their skin. I bathed our CKCS X puppy last weekend with aloeveen. Since then we have had HEAPS of rain and so she has gotten dirty when going out to toilet. Is it too soon to bath her again this weekend? She also smells a bit!

We had a good night last night! I closed the door at 9.30pm when I went to bed. When my OH got home at around midnight he took her out for wee's and she stayed with him till he came to bed. She slept in till 6am then I took her out for wees and poos. BUT...I did leave her out in the tiled area after that. I figured it was 6am and she might be ready to get up. She was lying in her bed when I got up at 9am! Lol!

I have an 11 week old CKCS X who weighed 3.4kg when we went to the vet on Wednesday. I have been feeding her Supercoat Puppy as reccomended by the seller. She has 1/3 of a cup with some warm water on it twice a day. We are new to the city we are living in and I had been trying to find a butcher that did minced chicken carcases not just minced meat off cuts. Anyway I bought some minced chicken carcases on Thursday and divided it up into about a million little ziplock bags! I put a heaped table spoon in most but towards the end I put two heaped tablespoons. So ... now... how much do I feed her? We have been going Supercoat Puppy 1/3 of a cup for breakfast and chicken mince for dinner. Is that enough? Also how often can she have an egg on her food? I gave her one yesterday and she LOVED it! Today I will have some raw egg left over from cooking...is it too much to give her another bit of egg tonight?

Thanks Poodlefan! I wonder if I should pick up some earplugs for tonight!

Thanks everyone! I think I'm the stronger one out of myself and my fiance and since he is working nights for the next three days Mummy is going to be STRICT!!!

Yes, she needs to be fully vaccinated. I'd be waiting until she's older anyway.. a pup can trigger prey drive in a larger dog. A small pup bullied and roughed up by larger dogs is not what you want. Ditto to what PF said. My pup has a small case of fear aggression and I do blame it on me taking him to the busy spit when he was first completely vaccinated as there were some real abnoxious dogs there. If you do take them to the beach I would stick to Tallebudgera or Kirra as they are never as busy. We have friends at Tallebudgera and my cousins in Bonogin so its def the one we would go to!

Yes, she needs to be fully vaccinated. I'd be waiting until she's older anyway.. a pup can trigger prey drive in a larger dog. A small pup bullied and roughed up by larger dogs is not what you want. Tallebudgera is the next suburb to Palm Beach so I assuming they are the same. If it says the beach I would assume it is the actual beach besides the creek park. Sorry I haven't taken my dog to that one. I would wait for her Vaccs. As you are unsure what things your dog may catch from other dogs there. There is no fencing at the beaches so I would reccommend starting with you pup onlead for the first trip and see how they go. Thanks guys! I thought that would be the case! I can't wait to take her out and about and start socialising her! I will DEF start with her on a leash!

I just searched through the Gold Coast Beaches on the council website and found that the Tallebudgera Beach has an off leash dog area. Its the part with the water that is open sea...not the creek part. Do I need to wait till my puppy has had all her vaccinations to take her to the beach? Is it just like dog parks?

How do I find places that are dog friendly in my region? Beaches, parks, cafes etc? Is there a website for all this?
-
Yep. Her crying and yelling is a way of her train you to do things for her. Her way of controlling you. Close the door when she is calm though. Make sure that she has settled down, she has the water and toys. Then close the door on her. Ok...tonight we close the door! Each night she happily goes in there, lies in her bed and settles down...its just a few hours later the problem starts! Me vet reccomended no water to help with not peeing every hour thru the night?

How exactly do they propose you stop her going to the loo - with a cork?? Or are continued accidents inside an acceptable part of this program? Put the crate in the ensuite.. put her bed or bedding in it and leave the door of the crate open. Toss in a treat at bedtime and my guess is she'll solve that problem for you. I find having a crate where you are, but leaving the door open, feeding etc in it will encourage use. Just buy one that's easy to move around the house initially. But she will still have free range of the house then? She will be free to get up, walk out, go wonder, pee/poo as she pleases... OR am I still putting someone across the doorway of the ensuite WITH the crate in there? Does the ensuite have a door? Yes...should I just close it and ignore the yells?
