Merlin is the only purebred dog in our street and the only registered one so far as I can tell. Next doors dogs are speyed or about to be (they have a 6 month kelpie x from a pet shop ) I also seem to be the only one who keeps my cats indoors too on this street, my neighbour recently got a second cat they were telling me about and I mentioned we had just got a third cat, he didnt even know we had cats - thats cause I keep em safe! So frustrating as the lady across the road has let her mix breed dog breed with another ladies maltese up the road, just cause they would be cute! They have had 2 litters, all were found homes but already they have heard of one dog just being left to his own devices and now he is gone, dont know where and another dog was left behind in a vacant house after one of their "good mates, who would love the puppy" abandoned it ggggrrrr makes me angry (sorry for going off topic)

Last night I helped my old friend Jessie to get her wings, it was peaceful and everything I could have hoped it to be for her Jess was almost 20 years old and was my first ever pet to call my own. Jess got hurt when she was only a couple of years old and had a fractured pelvis that never quite healed properly. She saw me welcome other cats and Holly to our family and managed to out last almost all of them. I know it was the right thing to do but I do hope you know how much I love you Jess, the hole you have left is much larger than I could have imagined Run free and say hi to Holly Forever in my heart and dreams love mummy xxx

I fell in love with Shelties when I saw one of tv doing agility, it was the most beautiful little thing flying around the course. Went to look at a litter a couple of months later, just to look of course, ended up with Holly, my heart dog, she was my best friend for 16 years. Now I have Merlin, he is almost 8 months old now, hoping to get another Sheltie soon I will always have a Sheltie or two in my life now

hhmm thank you all for enlightening me, for some reason I have always thought it was cruel to have dogs debarked. Thank dog I have never had to live with a dog that wont stop barking, so have never had to deal with that level of frustration. I suppose out of ignorance I assumed that the raspy bark that dogs have after the operation hurt them, sort of like when I have a funny throat, my voice changes and it hurts lol so I thought it was the same in dogs.
