It was me who wanted to see the pics, bertandsally.. Sorry for late reply - only noticed this thread now.. Dunno how I missed it? Bert looks so fab in his jacket.. I think he looks very handsome.. But I agree with you, his look in the third photo of your first post really looks like he's anxiously checking out that no other dogs have spotted him..

Hi MAD.. This is a great thread.. As oakeydoak1 said, it keeps you going through the LOOOOOOONG wait.. Bluefairy also has ages to wait.. 5 months I think, so you're not alone..
-
Me too! What a horrible thing to have gone through.. I keep thinking of the HUGE surprise her kids are going to get...
-
Yip, I am clicker training him.. He doesn't have a massive food drive so just taking it slow. His sit is virtually perfect, he 'watches me' about 70% of the time but 'down' has him (me?) totally flummoxed so think I'll try to just capture the down.. Luring him just doesn't work.. If he can't get the treat (while I wait for an elbow on the ground or something) he just walks off. And 'cos he's so young, I don't want to upset his little tummy by trying a whole lot of different treats to find something that he really wants to work for..

Hey Didles.. The waiting is over! Can't wait to hear how the kids react.. Really looking forward to seeing some pics! littlehoot, jakeyjangels.. ONE MORE SLEEP!! ;) FD26 - Are you picking him up Sunday? (Tried to go back through the thread but couldn't find your exact day.) What an exciting weekend ahead.. My good news is that Badger slept through last night! From 11pm til 6am! I woke up to him whining to be let out of his crate at 6 and my initial thought was that I obviously hadn't heard him in the night and that he had wet his bed.. But he hadn't... So proud of him! Also had to make his collar a bit bigger today.. Only had him 5 days and already it was getting a big tight..

.. and I understand what you meant about her eyes.. Stunning! Thanks for the pics.. Happy snapping!
-
So less than 24 hours to go! So exciting after what you've been through.. Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!!
-
Didles, what time does his flight arrive? Do you know yet? oakeydoak1.. How's Lucy doing? And where are some more pics?!?
-
Didles, I am SO, SO thrilled for you! He's so adorable... I bet today could not go by fast enough for you.. Your kids are going to go ballistic! Yay!!!! ;)
-
I'm a newbie to clicker training too but just remember that the click is to mark the correct behaviour and the treat is the reward. You could also take a look at www.clickerlessons.com.. You can download the sheets in a printable format to carry around with you. Good luck!

littlehoot and jakeyjangels.. Only 2 MORE SLEEPS!! ;) Didles - I am DYING to hear if you heard anything last night.. Please update us.. Really wanna hear some good news from you..
-
I love that last pic, tdierikx! He (she?) has a look of such contentment...
-
Hey Poppyx.. Nice to see you back.. littlehoot.. Great news! Only 3 more sleeps!!
-
Hey Didles.. Its no wonder you're unsure after all you've been through.. You know you've got our support whatever you decide. Littlehoot, you've already booked her vaccinations? You must be climbing the walls waiting for these last few days to pass. Badger's doing great.. Starting to really show his terrier side.. digging in the bark chips and getting covered in soil and then looking so proud of himself.. I'm not sure when I should leave the 'Waiting for A Puppy' thread since I'm not waiting any more but I feel like I know you guys... :D Here are a few new pics.. A fellow wine-lover! Just like his mum.. ;) (Don't worry - I didn't really let him have any.. ) Passed out with his teddy

She's GORGEOUS! You can see by the look in Satchmo's eyes that he is SO not impressed...
-
He's doing so well, littlehoot.. Another good night last night.. He settles in his crate within a minute or two. He woke three times last night - 11.45, 1.30 and 4.55 but did his wee as soon as he was on his 'spot' and then straight back to sleep.. Actually my alarm at 6.30 woke us both up! The toilet training is a bit of a mixed bag.. He often gets up and whines and then I take him out and he's a little champ.. But at other times, when I think I need to take him out like after a big play session etc, I spend AGES in the garden waiting until eventually giving up and coming back inside and then he wees within 5 minutes.. I usually catch him in the act but its already slipped out.. But he's such a special little man and so clever too! (Don't all new mums think their pups are highly intelligent? ) Has already learnt to sit with the clicker and when he sees me getting his food he goes over to his mat and sits in readiness... Too cute! FD26 - So excited for you counting down your last week! You're going to have so much fun with him.. I think the nervousness is quite normal.. I also think it means you want to do everything right which can only be a good thing! Didles - Hang in there.. The right pup will come. We're all thinking of you...
-
Such exciting news, Red Ruby! Bet Saturday can't come soon enough for you.. Don't forget to post pics!
-
Great news, wuffles! Can't wait to see the pics...
-
I gave Badger the chance to lie quietly at my feet in his bed but he insists on going exploring so since he's only 8 weeks old, he's now in his crate at my feet...
-
Oh Didles.. I am so, so sorry to hear your news... I can't even begin to imagine the disappointment... I know its for the best if the pup is so sick and the breeder is turning out to be disreputable but you must be crushed.. Here's hoping you find your little bulldog soon..
-
Didles, sorry to hear about all the drama with your puppy.. Please keep us all posted. Holding thumbs that everything turns out okay.. Badger had an awesome first night... I put him in his crate just before I went to shower, he whined for about 20 seconds and then was quiet so I crept over to that side of the bed to check him and he was passed out! So cute! Still didn't stir with us getting ready for bed, chatting etc and then he woke at 2am, I took him out for a pee, put him back in his crate and he whined for about 10 seconds before passing out again.. When he woke at 5.00, he had a pee and then we played on the bed for 15mins and then put him back in his crate and we all went back to sleep for another hour.. So here's hoping night two will go as well... Here's a pic of him passed out in his crate before I even got into bed.. Gotta love him!
-
Thanks littlehoot.. He's getting a little whiney now.. Think he's missing his mum... Oakeydoak1, I know what you mean.. Mine's the same.. I think I took about a 1000 photos just to get these 3.. Would love to get a SLR but just don't have the cash flow at the moment... I guess we just keep trying and hope to catch that perfect moment...
-
Badger is home! He was such a star in the car.. Just settled down and slept the whole way back.. He alternates between frenzied playing activity with the kids and then just conks out in his dog bed.. He's already 'bonding' with his new fluffy teddy.. We love him so much already! He's such a character.. And his little bark is the cutest sound ever! Here are some pics to start off with..
-
Today's the day! AT LAST!! Off to fetch Badger in an hour... :D It's a 2 hour drive so should be back early afternoon.. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you on this thread... Sharing in 'the waiting game' has helped time go faster... ;) Will post pics soon...

I'm the same.. Badger has more toys than the kids and he hasn't even arrived yet! (He's a Jack Russell)
