KritalJay.. Yippee! Today's the day! I'm sure the day will drag for you but before you know it, you'll have a new pup in your arms.. Don't forget pics, pics, pics! Badger is also quite a biter when he's excited.. When he's calmer then a slow, firm "gently" usually does the trick as he learnt pretty quickly that we'll ignore him if he doesn't. But when he's excited, he just goes deaf! :D He also loves jumping at people's faces when they're down on his level.. I know he's just trying to kiss them but I'm trying very hard to nip this one in the bud.. No new breakthroughs in the toilet training.. If I'm very vigilant, he'll do it all outside, if I relax concentration for a second, he'll sneak one past me.. We haven't had one accident free day since I got him... Mostly wees.. and I know its my fault but I'll keep trying.. I must say it really helps me to read everyone else's trials and tribulations with their new pups.. Since they're all the same age more or less, its nice to know I'm not alone! Even the 'good' ones like Lola give me hope for the future.. ;)

Beautiful pics! Love the one of him passed out on his tiger...

Cool collar, Ruby!

Hi everyone.. Great news about the good night, Niques.. Badger is the same as James when I get back from leaving him.. Kind of looks up from his bed and wags his tail as if to say "Oh, you're back..".. No frantic squirming etc.. That said, he's also very good with being left alone and doesn't seem to suffer any separation anxiety so maybe we should be grateful.. (But I know what you mean about being a bit put out.. ) MAD - I know what you mean.. I keep forgetting who's getting their puppy when too.. Badger was in energy overdrive today.. Played with anything that moved and a lot of things that didn't... and then we had visitors all afternoon and he was on the go the whole time.. Now he is UNCONSCIOUS! I picked him up to move him off the patio and he didn't even open his eyes..

hmmm.. not sure why. Maybe try saving the image on your desktop, importing it into your photobucket (if you have it) and copying it over the same way you do photos.. Maybe someone else has a more obvious solution?

Woohoo!! :D Great news, FD26! Long may it last.. KritalJay - Not long now!! Can't wait to see him, Jakeyjangels.. Niques, Badger got his name once we saw a photo of him as a week old puppy.. It was the first name we came up with and we all loved it. And it really suits him too! (My hubby's and son's middle names are both James.. )

Thanks for all the advice..

Hi belgianblue Here's my attempt at your signature.. If you're not crazy about it, please don't worry that you'll offend me.. I'm very new to photoshop so just like trying my hand at different signatures to get experience..
-
Hi whitka Right click on the image and choose "copy image address". Then go to your 'My Controls' and find 'Edit Signature' on the left hand menu. Then just paste the address into the text box and 'update'.

Thanks, Kahlua.. I really liked yours too and I felt a bit intimidated when I saw you had posted already..

Hi everyone I have a 9 week old Jack Russell puppy who LOVES his chicken necks. I bash them with a rolling pin before giving them to him but he's finishing them so quickly, I wondered when I can give them to him 'whole' and if it'll take him a bit longer? It's not as if he gulps the whole thing down, he does rip and chew it but its gone in a few minutes.. Thanks for any advice..
-
I had a go too.. I'm very new to photoshop but thought I'd give it a try...
-
Jakeyjangels, glad its all going so well.. Can't see your pic yet though.. ? Mavericksmission.. He is GORGEOUS! So, so cute! And I love the name! Bluefairy, I've always loved Jack's.. Had them growing up. Love their 'big dog in a small body' attitude. Also wanted an active dog.. Hoping to do agility in the future. A couch potato, Badger is NOT!

Hi Holly's mum! Poppyx, I thought your date was a definite.. Is it still a 'hopefully'?

FD26, been following your thread in Puppy Problems.. Oh dear! You must be exhausted! We've been lucky with Badger in that he settles virtually immediately in his crate and only whines to go to toilet but after a week and a half of getting up 2 to 3 times a night (the sleep-through only lasted that one night) I'm feeling a bit like a zombie so can only imagine how you must be feeling! Badger was shnuffling around in the bushes for around 20 minutes now then ran inside so I went over to the bushes to see if I could see if he'd done a poo but couldn't see anything. I come inside and he's done one inside on the floor!! I was only about 3 minutes behind him! Aarrghh!! I feel so frustrated again.. Taking supreme effort not to let it out on him and just to calmly clean it up.. At least, his poos are beautifully formed so they're easy to pick up! (Oh no.. now I'm discussing poo consistency.. Whatever next? ) littlehoot and RedRuby.. Your pups seem to be getting the hang of things faster than the rest of us.. Good on ya! Jules46, Love your pics! That freckly nose is gorgeous! KritalJay.. Only 2 more sleeps! Niques, I'm interested to hear how last night went.. Did you leave him in his half-crate?
-
Aaaww! How cute is that? Matching poses with his duck..

Jules, in the Forum Help/ Suggestions discussion forum, there's a pinned thread at the top called "Adding an image to your post". Troy tells you how to do it there through Photobucket which is what I use. I know you can just add them from your computer (Click 'Choose File' at the bottom of the message box and browse your computer) but you must just make sure you've resized them before adding them so they're not huge, just like you would if you were emailing a pic to someone.. Hope that helps..

I'm really enjoying everyone's updates today.. Glad I'm not the only one who was standing in the rain in the middle of the night.. although I'm usually too lazy to put on my jacket and end up shivering in my nightie... MAD and Jules, nice to have you back.. Jules, can't wait to see some pics! I read in another thread about favourite toys and a lot of dogs seem to love things like plastic bottles and toilet rolls. Well, the toilet rolls we've already discovered and I use them often in the morning to distract Badge while I get dressed but I tried a plastic bottle this morning filled with dry pasta.. It was HILARIOUS! He jumped around it, barking and play bowing for about 20 minutes without ever getting close to it! Was SO funny.. I managed to get a few pics. They're not brilliant, I know, but its just a point and press camera and PLEASE excuse the state of my carpet.. I have been vacuuming but with all the rain and the running in and out to the garden, I'm fighting a losing battle..

Ah no, FD26! What a nightmare! Being covered in poo is never fun but especially in the middle of the night.. Your poor OH!.. Here's hoping your second night will be better.. littlehoot.. So Lola is showing up all these big, bad boys by being a little angel? How did she go when you left her for your appointment?
-
Good morning fellow new puppy owners and nearly new puppy owners! FD26, how did your first night go? Niques, Congrats on the toilet training breakthrough! Hope it lasts.. Badger's run out a few times but just when I start to trust him, he reminds me not to.. How are all the new pups doing today? Didles, how's Winston coping? Lets have some more pics.. Badger is incredibly difficult to photograph.. He just never pauses long enough for a pic except when he's sleeping.. Now I'm asking hubby for a new camera! First I wanted a puppy, now a camera.. Will it ever end? :D This is Badger's "wondering what she's doing?" look.. My daughter enjoying a rare quiet moment with Badge...
-
What a handsome little man! Love his white chest... And I think his name fits him perfectly! Good luck with your first night.. Let us know how it goes.

oakeydoak1, go and have a look at www.clickerlessons.com.. It'll give you a great place to start and each of the lessons can be printed out to keep with you. If you search on the forum under the Training forum, there are also lots of threads on clicker training which give good websites to start, good books etc. You can also have a look at YouTube to see some clicker training in action.. Badger is definitely a terrier! His favourite game is attacking his leopard which has about 6 squeakers in it... Shaking and 'killing' it.. Also loves "pull that towel", "steal the sock", "chew the lead" and my personal favourite "play with a leaf in the rain while mum is standing there soaking waiting for him to poo.."
-
I missed seeing the corgi pups earllier till I saw Poppyx's post.. (Dunno how!?! ) They are almost edible they are so cute!!!!
-
So no more peace for you then? Glad he got home safely and is settling in.. The toilet training fun is just beginning.. Just ask Niques and I! Have you given him a chew toy in his crate? A stuffed kong or something? We were really lucky and Badger settled in his crate straight away with hardly any whining but I know Ian Dunbar advocates always leaving a chew toy with them in their crate to occupy them.. Itching to see some pics.. What's his name?

Thanks so much everyone for all your advice and suggestions... I'll pass it all on to her (any maybe suggest she comes and reads the thread herself!) She won't make a decision lightly so you can be rest assured she will choose the dog best suited for her family and lifestyle..
