Can't help with vets that side of town but agree with Ness about training. SAODC is a great club but not suited to dogs with issues. One of the other club's mentioned with smaller classes that can offer individual help would be better IMO

Correct name is Bull Terrier but I often say "English" Bull Terrier when asked what breed Pele is. Joe Public tends to think bull terrier is a name that covers all the bull breeds I would have called Atlas an "English Bull Terrier" if I had sent the article in to the paper

ilike thunderr stroms at night and thunder always seems so strong Great name Just hope he's not scared of thunder

So Whats In Your Book/dvd Collection.
Bully replied to whitka's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I've got 130 That's why I did a database I never told my partner how many I've got -
Thanks Bully - how do you differentiate between the two though? Because when Petes dinner bowl is in front of him he stares pretty hard waiting for the ok :D Wouldn't you? :D Wait 'til you see Pele, "The Porker" starring at the BBQ at the DOL meet, just willing one of those sausages to leap off into her mouth With a dominance type stare the the dog's whole body tends to go tense.

Same here :D I've even made a database for all my dog books how tragic is that? :D -
Hi p.t.d, There's a difference between eye contact and the hard staring of a dog, which is what is referred to as dominance. Eye contact that us humans want with our dogs is not natural so takes time and practice to get our dogs to feel comfortable with eye contact :D

I hope not - I have just got my son to sleep a bit later in the mornings Only took 11 years When he discovers girls and late nights you'll never get him out of bed in the mornings

Is Earl short for Early Bird
-
When daylight saving ends 5am becomes 4am

Food. I'll bring a chicken salad. Pele, the "Porker" will abandon the BBQ for that She loved her Secret Santa Xmas roast chicken I froze the other half and she got it on Xmas day
-
Pele, the "Goddess" just does NOT do mornings at all The only way that I get her out of bed is to turn the front hose on, then she can't help herself, she races out to "attack" it Even as a puppy she wouldn't get out of bed until what she considered was a civilized hour - usually about 8am
-
She'd be devastated if there was no BBQ Poor starving little Bull Terrier
-
I've checked Pele's social calendar and we can come on 31st Can't wait to meet Earl and have a cuddle. Pete looks like a little cutey Pele will supervise the BBQ

Sounds like a lovely boy and the owners don't deserve to have him I agree with everyone else. You've returned him home quite a few times and the stupid owners have done nothing about containing him, now maybe a fine might get the message thru to them.

Have you thought about in-home dog sitting where your dog stays in a home environment with a family. Don't know much about these 2, maybe someone can recommend or otherwise http://www.houndsathome.com.au/ http://www.dontfretpet.com.au/
-
I haven't used either of these , but why not consider in-home boarding, where your boy will stay in a home with a family http://www.houndsathome.com.au/ http://www.dontfretpet.com.au/ Congratulations on your engagement
-
I agree with everyone else. Don't do it. Hope he's feeling better soon

Pele (named after the "Hawaiian Goddess of Fire and Volcanoes", there is a famous soccer player of the same name )
-
Sounds like a normal 10 week old puppy to me Dr Ian Dunbar has free copies of his 2 books "Before You Get Your Puppy" and "After You Get Your Puppy" here http://www.dogstardaily.com/free-downloads He is a great believer in crate training and appropriate chew toys Pele, my Bull Terrier now almost 5 was a pirahna on 4 legs as a puppy and AKA "The Feral Peril". With training and perserverance we survived the puppy biting stage and she is now "Pele, the Perfect"

What "supercharged" Treats Do You Use To Train With?
Bully replied to Marnifer's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Vary the treats so that she doesn't know what she's going to get, otherwise she might to think "Hmm whistle. I know that it will be my favourite yummy chicken but this grasshopper is more interesting." You want her to think "Whistle!! Oooh what yummy treat am I going to get? I'd better hurry to Mum!". Found this on youtube It shows how to train a response to the whistle
