Unable To Keep Dog Thats Under A Contract

You signed the contract. You GAVE the breeder the rights. No point in complaining about it now. Dogs barking and destroying backyards aren't that uncommon.. . and there's a fair bit you can do about it. How much exercise does this dog get on a daily basis. How much training? she goes free running about 3 times a week, gets walked every other day. -

we will see It's hardly a laughing matter and the breeder could easily take you to the small claims court. well I outright own the dog, so I don't see how she would have a say in anything, I will speak to my lawyer and see what they say -

hmmm....funny how breeders get all the rights. I have complaints from my neighbors because of this dog barking alllll the time, she has destroyed my backyard aswell....how can I know this was going to happen??? -
Hi guys, we bought a bitch from a breeder a few months ago. We bought here agreeing to return her for a litter etc which we were happy with but one of the other things that was on the signed agreement was that if we were unable to keep this girl we would have to return her to the breeder free of charge. We never thought we would have to consider re-homing her, as we do now due to unforeseen circumstances, but we paid $2500 and I don't think its fair that she should be returned to her breeder free of charge, especially when she can then breed her. I don't want to create problems but she was a very expensive dog, we paid good money for her and think if the breeder doesn't want to buy her back we should be at least able to sell her and get the breeder to sign a new agreement with the new owners. Do you think this is fair?
-
well Im not about money, money wouldnt mean anything to me, its about the welfare of my pups.....I would give them their money back, no issues, and im pretty sure thats inline with australia's refund policies.
-
I had researched the breed, the breeder had only told me one issue the dog had but have read there are quite a few more issues I should be concerned about. The dog is $2,500 and i was certain i wanted the dog at the time so I didnt see an issue giving $1500, but now im feeling worried....im only human it happens
-
well i think not giving back $1500 would be very unfair. and as people have said above, fine I could always take the dog then and re-sell on the trading post....

Over the weekend I went to a breeders house to have a look at one of their adult dogs for sale. Anyway we liked her very much and decided to put a deposit on her. I have been reading up about the breed and they have alot of health issues and im now kinda worried about buying an adult dog and have it die in a couple of years. The dog has tested carrier for some things although i havn't got any reports on other diseases lurking in the breed. Do you think its fair if I asked for my deposit back?....is the breeder obliged to give it back to me? ETA we have paid quite alot of money for her.

thanks for the info guys. If I only have the one prefix, do I need to advise our kennel club of the added breed? Or can I just register pups under that prefix?
-
g'day can someone tell me the rules with prefix's. I have a prefix regisited for one breed of dog. If I want to start another breed do i need to get a new prefix for that breed or do I need to add a breed to my current prefix or doesnt it matter at all?

I don't understand either why anyone would go to the expense and difficulty of importing an American showline of extreme angulation that is unlikely to be popular for any worthwhile purpose. I can't see American lines winning at shows or used for a working purpose superior to what we are breeding here. My faulty coated boy wasn't purchased for breeding or showing but neither would I go to the expence and trouble of importing a faulty dog as an ideal exercise. So, because a dog is imported from America it is faulty? Not every American dog is over angulated, just as not every dog of German origin is perfect! Both have their good points and maybe, just maybe their good points can compliment each other. It gets on my goat when people generalise about 'types', whatever they are, German, American, English, Working, whatever, they will pick out the most extreme example and bag the crap out of the 'type' as a whole. Of course there are extreme examples, you can find them in any breed in any country. Oh and just FYI dogs of American lines can and do win here. yes but they don't win where it counts.....Nationals for example or under specialist breed judges

So you didn't breed the bitch someone else did and you're trying to decide if you will take her on co-ownership? Do you have trust issues with the breeder? Perhaps you should discuss your concerns with them? correct, this breeder is very much set in her own ways, cant mess with it or your the worst person in the world, actually cant even have an opinion....but she has awesome dogs! The first bitch I bought wasnt under co-ownership, she is purely mine, but now I want another one, she says co-ownership only.
-
... To breed her, he has to sign her over to me and when the pups are registered, I sign her back into both names. my gosh!
-
so if they are in both our names, cant the pups just go under my kennel prefix or does the bitch have to be soley in my name for a few months?
-
hmmm sounds too complicated too me! this bitch would be very important to my breeding program, esp since I'm just starting my own. I have another nice bitch from this breeder, but this pup has lines that arn't even in the country..... very hard!
-
just wanting to ask people, if I were to buy a bitch co-owned with the breeder, in the future would she have to sign any breeding papers for a mating?.....I know that this happens with sires and sometimes the second party refuse to sign stud paperwork, but can this happen with bitches?
-
that beats the cleanrun prices. I'll pm what im after
-
can anyone recommend businesses that provided shopping carts for websites?
-
maybe i should get the one that says "test on animals"...so then i'll know its safe ......joking
-
yes i saw that "Human hair dyes shouldn't be used because of the acids/chemicals. " but that was written back in 2007 thought things may have changed, i mean we use it on our own hair. Wondering if anyone has used it with no bad side effects and which brand
-
this may enlighten you its actually a poodle and she wants to get a few different colours and dye it, just for a bit of fun
