the poem is about abuse of these dogs which i do not support as the dogs were made like they are by humans,as i said,responsible owners deserve a pat on the back and yes dead head owners make a dangerous dog lethal.

all the amstaff owners go on about how good they are with people/kids,but my biggest fear is coming across one loose somewhere and seeing it run towards my dogs,latch on and thats lights out for any canine victim.i have seen the damage these dogs can do and its frightening.now i think they are good looking dogs,and yes a reponsible owner is to be commended but the power in these dogs is just too much for other dogs to handle if a confrontation occurs.they are the reason im scared to walk my dogs.yes any breed can and will attack other dogs but the strength and hold of these dogs will kill.im sorry im going to upset breed enthusiasts but this is a big concern for many people.

hello,could someone please tell me the differences between these 2 breeds? i think theyre the same dog,i spoke to an all breeds judge and he said they are the same dog,can someone maybe an amstaff breeder tell me if theres a difference and why amstaffs are not banned but pitbulls are? cheers

phew!!!!dont worry you may not have your dignity but at least you still have your dog.that kinda reminds me of an incident at a park about 25 years ago i will never forget but would like to.i was sitting in the park with my little cousin watching 2 girls about 10 years old walking their dalmation on a lead.they let him off and he ran and bounded happily around the park until he decided to run across the road and a taxi came along and hit him.omg it was terrible,the dog was writhing on the road and yelping,blood curdling!and the 2 girls were screaming in shock,the taxi driver stopped and picked him up and put him in the boot and rushed him to the vet.i dont know how the dog was but i could only imagine those little girls would be about 35 now and probably still haunted by it,i still am and i was just someone in the park.my biggest fear now is walking my dog and coming across a pitbull off lead if it latches on my dog would be dead,that thought really scares me,these dogs dont let go like most other breeds do and theres so many around these days,its like russian roulette when you take your dog out on a lead even which i always do.i came across 2 big rotties once wandering along a road and i had to creep past them with my dobermann so neither dogs seen each other,talk about fear factor!!!!

thanks cockerlover,i actually have 2 of them around some plants atm so i might buy another one,at least i know i can always use them. thanks again,good idea!!

just wondering,in a few months i will need a temporary pen to put a new pup in just for the first week until the other dog gets used to the new pup.instead of buying a pen which i will probably never use again,does anyone have a pen about 6ft sq.approx they can rent out to me? just thought id find out in the meantime.i could put something together if need be,but i just thought id ask if someone in sydney west area has something like that sitting around.

how much eukanuba are you feeding,a lot of people feed far more than the dog actually needs which causes excessive waste or no.2's.i have used euk on my dogs for over 10 years and i find the food brilliant and if fed excliusively and correct qty,dogs do really well on it.steer clear of human food as this will affect the dogs skin and weight if its a regular thing.this food is very concentrated so dont be tempted to give more than the guide on the bag recommmends.
