  1. Well I think she's gorgeous! A real little beauty....
  2. Rotten bitey jumpy stingy awful ANTS in Tassie. Saw a program on them once. Has sometimes caused serious problems in people, almost like anaphylactic shock at times. Some people have been 'ambulanced' to hospital almost at deaths door!! Dont mean to scare you and don't know what the effect on dogs is but I'd be googling re the ants and maybe ringing your vet for advice. Good luck, hope she's okay.
  3. So what sort of dog is Coco, how old, health etc... Details please...
  4. I have heard bad things about them too. I was going to go with them orignally but decided against it. Stear safe of them rexiam I was with them, never had to claim though. Premium went up by $100 in 12 months, with a few breed specific exclusions thrown in. I looked around and am now with Prosure. I did a few on-line quotes, there's was cheaper (with better benefits than some). Most are underwritten by Hollard. After reading about this I had a look online and decided I should have pet insurance too. I went with Prosure as well. I applied online and the paperwork/policy was here with three working days. Great service and I liked the coverage too. Thanks for the info itsmeg!!
  5. I went and bought three yesterday afternoon, they're great. Plenty left too if anyone wants more!!
  6. I should probably get in as well in case there are a couple of spare small ones. I had never heard of these things until I joined this forum. Wish I had seen the original thread and understood what they were. ho hum......
  7. Winner of the ticket should start a raffle with proceeds going to dog rescue!!!
  8. My friend showed me how to 'cut' bone in half lengthways. Just put them on the ground [hard surface] and hit them with a hammer. They split in half easily
  9. I'm waiting for the larger size to become available and then I'll be buying two. I haven't heard anything about it, good or bad...but for the price, it's worth a try. I'm subscribed to the Ozstock.com.au newsletter and today for subscribers only they have the medium potty pad available for $28.98 + $9.98 postage. Great deal, I just bought one! http://www.ozstock.com.au/954

  15. I went out to the back yard today and almost got carried away by the sheer number of flies. They have been in plague proportion a few times over the summer but thought the worst was over until today.
  16. Waking up yesterday morning to find doggy vomit beside me in my bed. YUK!!!
  17. Luki is nice. :D I have spent the night looking up names. My eyes have turned square. These were some I found with their meanings: B.B. = Beautiful baby Balin = Powerful and strong Kobi = means joy in japanese Beau = Handsome Tikaani = Wolf Kaskae = Chief Nanook = Cute, kind Conri = King of wolves Ralf = Red wolf Dustin = Brave Warrior What do youse think? I do like Luki. It has a soft sound to it, just like him. Kobi is nice also. ETA Obviously hit wrong key and posted a blank lol!! Well k9angel, if you're up at the computer now then I assume that no news is good news thank goodness. I reckon with soooo many people praying for him he can't do anything but come good  So to names I liked Nanook the best but also Luki and Balin. I'm sure you will come up with just the right name for him when the time comes.
  18. thanks for that powerlegs, Even though my little girl is not well, I now don't think it's parvo unless the symptoms haven't shown yet as she has brightened a little this afternoon and she wolfed down her dinner tonight. Also, I changed her diet as her poos were a bit soft and it's worked as they've firmed up now. Hope k9angels boy, my girl and all the babies at Blacktown are okay. :D
  19. I am so worried. The blk & wht husky pup was sold. What happens if he gets sick too? Will the owners know to take him to the Vet, will they even bother treating him or just let him die a slow and painful death???? There was another staffy x looking junior left in with this boy. He appeared ok, but for how long?? maybe he will get it too. This may sound really strange to some, but as I soon as I arrived at the pound I thought I could smell parvo in the air. Then when I saw this boy, laying there all lethargic, the staffy pup walking all over him, I feared the worse. There are so many littlies (pups) in there atm. Those border collie pups are only very young and IMO, should be out under DOC. Can anyone help them..... PLEASE??????? I fear they'll all end up with it and die. I have spoken to pound staff to alert them to it, and have suggested those pups go out under DOC. k9angel, so sorry to hear this about that beautiful boy, I hope and pray he can be saved and makes a full recovery soon. I hope you don't mind me asking, but the little minpinXchi girl that I adopted on 6/3/10 was in kennel 10 [your boy was in kennel 8]. She now has kennel cough, but what is the likelihood of her being exposed to the parvo? I'm really worried now.... What symptoms should I be looking for if, in fact, she has been exposed? Should I now take her to the vet just in case?
  20. Mine finally arrived today
