  1. WOW!!! Fantabulous shots, those greys sure do have muscles! :D
  2. So so true, thanks for sharing...
  3. well he had an open door and chose to stay on his matt in the laundry, which was fine by me - i dont want to push myself on him he did come into my room @ 5am though he must have snuck in! but was asleep next to the bed..i think our bed is too high for him to get into anyways Well you'll have to purchase some doggy stairs so he can hop under the covers with you!!
  4. Thanks for that, it seems that CAR is definitely the way to go!
  5. So does that mean that anyone that transports a dog interstate can register a microchipped dog into their name without proof of ownership? Doesn't bode well for lost/stolen dogs if that is the case....
  6. Yay italmum, I'm so so pleased for you, your family and Ollie. He really is a cutie and already sounds like he has settled in with you!!! So where, or should I say on who's bed, did he sleep last night huh!!?????
  7. As a newbie, I also am a bit hesitant to ask some types of questions/address some topics due to the intolerance, rudeness and negativity some posters display. Thanks Brooke for trying to lessen the pressure for us newbies and for trying to encourage us to stick around and learn. At the risk of being flamed myself, I'll just mention how one old saying goes 'birds of a feather........'
  8. Well I just want italmum to stop patting the pooch and get online and tell us all about her and Christian's first day together...... Again, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock,
  9. Thanks everyone for your responses. I will get my new girl council registered this week and request that the microchip details be listed with CAR, ie if I have an option. Gotta love this forum and all the knowledgeable people giving advice to us newbies. ;)
  10. And gillbear, which Australia wide registry would you suggest to be the best/most available or most used to check chip info. Thanks!!
  11. Thanks stormie, I've just been looking at the pound paperwork again and there is a NSW Companion Animals Register Certificate of Identification as well as a completed Change of Owner form. After SLOWLY reading every word it does say that I need to take these forms to my local council when I register her with them. I guess I was confused as they don't mention anything about the registries that I had heard of, eg CAR etc. Thanks everyone, think I've got it sorted now, Cheers!!! ;)
  12. Thanks Erny but I've already tried that, entered the microchip number, hit search and got this message: Microchip Search You appear to be entering a FDX-B chip number which is not listed on the Central Animal Records database. Please recheck the number and try again, or rescan the animal to obtain the correct microchip number. If the microchip number is correct, the animal in question may be listed on another database. Please either phone or log-in via the links provided below to check the other databases, or if still unsuccessful phone our Customer Care team on (03) 9706 3187 for further assistance. If ringing outside of business hours, ensure that you take note of any phone messages provided. Phone numbers and Links to the other registries are: Australasian Animal Registry - Ph: 02 9704 1450 Petsafe - Ph: 02 8850 6800 National Pet Register - Ph: 1300 734 738 Information contained on this page is adequate evidence of information recording for implanters under the Victorian Domestic (Feral and Nuisance) Animals Act and Regulation requirements. Did a search of the microchip number with all those registries and got pretty much the same message: microchip number not listed on this database. Don't know where to go from here
  13. About five weeks ago I adopted a dog from Blacktown Pound and had her sent down to Victoria. I have the paperwork from the pound, which includes her microchip number so thought I'd try to find a record of it online as I wanted to find out how to update it into my name. I have checked numerous websites to do a search including: Central Animal Records (CAR) National Pet Register Petsafe Australasian Animal Registry (AAR) Home Safe ID Her microchip number is not listed on any of these sites. WTF!!! What's the point in having a dog microchipped but not registering the details. Is this possible or am I doing something wrong? So, by the looks of it her microchip record is not listed anywhere so which registry would be the best to list her with. I have two cats currently with CAR but can't find any forms on their website to complete a new registration. Or, does this need to be done by a vet or authorised microchipper? I'm confused, any advice appreciated before I go loony ;)
  14. The greys are gorgeous but the feline is fantastic!!
  15. Less than two days to go italmum, you must be getting excited by now!!!
  16. Ooohh!! Norty little buggers. Hopefully now the owners will fix their fencing or find a way to ensure they are kept safe. Well done NAO and your friend....
  17. I think this thread was all about the broom. Yes that's it. I've got one and it works great ie when I remember to use it Another costless option if you are feeling energetic that works for me is put on some rubber soles shoes or slippers, I use ugg slippers/boots and slide your foot along the carpet. You'd be surprised how much comes together in a ball of hair. Also, I recently bought a bottom of the range Bissell carpet cleaner on eBay for just over $200. I was sooo amazed at how much cat hair it picked up and how clean it got the carpet. Works a treat. My cleaning lady couldn't believe how well it worked and is getting one for herself. We do this It's great isn't it and so easy, well if you don't mind a bit of leg exercise. I generally sit in my lounge chair, stretch my legs out and drag my feet back towards me along the carpet. Maybe two or three times in the same spot after picking up the rolls of hair. But it's something you can do just while sitting a watching tele so doesn't really have to be a big type housework job. Unless of course your rooms are so big and you can't move the chairs around and watch tele at the same time lol. But I just sometimes do it whilst I'm walking along, just slide my feet along the carpet, do what I have to do, and pick up the rolls of hair when walking back. Great for between big cleaning jobs!
  18. OMG!!! I hope someone is looking for them. Hopefully they are escapees and not dumpees!! Perhaps you could list them on some lost/found doggie sites.
  19. I don't know what sort of name you are after but a lot of CKCS owners call their boys 'Charlie'. If breed name is used, I'd rather 'King' as that's the sort of royal life I believe he will have with you!!!
  20. If you do get to keep him have you thought of a name yet???
  21. About time, soooo glad it all went well!!!! YAY!!!!!!! When do you think you will hear back with the answer????
