*gulp* Seriously though, I'll be surprised if you don't like it or can't use it. You'll find it very versatile. It CAN be a bit daunting initially so my advice is to follow every bit of documentation in the box and have a good read of the manual and user guide. Looking forward to seeing your photos! That's a pretty good price, even with postage it is still under the $300 mark. I was chatting with Trafford (very well known dog world photographer) one night about some photos that I had taken with my camera and he asked me why I chose that camera over others. My first thought was "oh shit I've stuffed up" but he then said I'd done a good job and after he'd looked at the specs was going to buy himself one as a backup to his other gear and for quick photos when he doesn't have the other stuff at hand. I love it. For what I want, it's perfect. I posted some photos on Facebook the other day and somebody asked me what lens I'd used because he liked one of the photos. When I told him it was a high-end point and shoot his reply was "you're killing me". OK You've talked me into it. I'll go and get it now. If it all goes wrong, you know who I'm going to blame, don't you!!

And whatever happened to italmum. Haven't seen/heard her around for a while either?

Thanks for that, I think DSLR's may be too complicated for me. I think a point and shoot should be all I would need. I'm not a camera/photo person at all so don't want to spend a lot of money on something I will probably only occasionally use. I just want to be able to take a reasonably good photo of the animals or whatever. Are any particular brands best for this. I also don't want one that drains the batteries after only about a dozen pictures taken either. My last camera did this and I was forever buying batteries. Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry loveisashihtzu, I didn't mean to take over your thread!

What's a DSLR and what does it do? ETA I just want a very basic camera too to take pics of the pets. What do you think about something like this one? Cheap Pentax Digital Camera

Unfortunately I don't do agility or dog sports so can't advise you if the size is correct for your dog. But it is a one day special price tomorrow. I'll post the link again tomorrow if you like.

Oooh, I wonder what breed I could call my girl that I recently adopted from Blacktown Pound. Apparently she is a cross between a miniature pinscher and a chihuahua. Perhaps minchi pinchi chinscher minchipin Some people have just no clue. I'm not very knowledgeable about dog breeds [but am learning a lot from this forum], but at least I did/do know that offspring from two different purebreeds mating aren't purebred dogs nor are any of the dd or 'oodles'. It's just common sense to me!

So glad to hear that Max and Zack are on the mend and the man who helped them is okay too. And I agree, I hope they throw the book at the attacking dogs owner, plus I hope she has to pay for all your Aunties vet bills too! Bloody mongrel!

I keep hoping for karma to bite my 'delightful' neighbours arse too.....grrrr smooch, perhaps even a couple of BIG dummy cameras placed, facing his residence, where he can see them. If he is watching your every move, then perhaps if he thinks you are recording him he might pull his head in a bit. Perhaps worth a try!

I looked at a few pet insurers and decided to go with Prosure too. Never had a claim yet so hope all goes smoothly if/when I do. I just applied online and had the approved forms within three days. Pretty good service I thought.

I cannot comprehend what you have been through and your family, friends and furkids also. Hope you are well on the road to recovery very soon, mainly for yourself but your wonderful pets too. Stay positive and strong, but do allow yourself your moments of sorrow and sadness, without it you won't be able to properly heal.

So sorry for you Di at the passing of your little man. There's nothing quite like an iggy, they can worm their way into your heart and your bed so so easily. At least now he can run true and free at the bridge till he meets up with his family once again. RIP Bobby!
