  1. Muttrus - the only way to avoid the pound fees if you want to save a dog from time to time is also sign up with a Rescue group as a foster carer
  2. Muttrus foster cares for a "legitimate" rescue, but due to where they are and the dogs they save there is no need for a 16d rescue clause, as none of the dogs come from the pound. They all fly in from Outback NT from the communites. They are all camp dogs.
  3. Its been almost a year since our 9yr old Shepherd died of spleen/liver cancer If there was any operation that could have saved him we were willing to sell one of the cars Sadly that wasnt to be.
  4. Several people at my dog park already have them they scan fine with ur smart phone
  5. My family packs a lunchbox for the kids when going shopping. My nephews have sandwiches etc packed and they are raised to know not to ask for anything. They are not perfect and can be right little horrors, but they know if they perform they don't get a treat once my sister has done everything she needs to If your child is throwing a fit because it wants something it either has to be taught that No means No or some patience is required and it if is generally hungry then you as the adult should have something prepared for it or have purchased something prior to entering the store. Why should anyone expect to be able to pick something up off a shelf and consume it prior to paying for it? Teach them they can have it once it is scanned.
  6. But there are heaps of negative opinions and just because someone is well known doesnt make whatever they do acceptable
  7. Feral cats need to be caught and destroyed. They kill native wildlife and reak havoc on the environment For me however I don't think a photo of a cat hanging by a rope is really appropriate I don't think having to kill any animal for whatever reason should be fun It is something should be done out of necessity only that is just my opinion
  8. change the topic mate as it seems there is emails going around about getting dogs out and the pound staff got no idea about it either some people cant read or they are going into mass hysteria for no reason im sure if their was a chance they need to evacuate it would be done so prior to the water rising and they would use SES etc

He is needing a new home as his family life has changed and houseing commission relocating them to a flat from a house
  12. I need help if anyone in Wollongong is available 11mth old female Boxer X American bulldog she is cat friendly but hasnt had much to do with other dogs I am wondering if anyone lives down that way is happy and confident enough to go and meet her and see how she goes with another dog?
  13. Im sure you will get a varied range of who believes who is good depending on which side of the fence they sit on what they believe is ethical and what they think is required to be a good ethical group
  14. Who decides what is and isnt "reputable"? I think some facebook pages are set up by people with to much time on their hands. they seem more focused on personal vendetta's and getting as many other goonies on board then doing "rescue" work I am on a few pages. I dont post, but I do read and there are some ugly things going on out there and it seems there are more and more new people and groups popping up daily. It isnt nice to read especially if you have been in and around rescue a long time. I see people who have no ABN, 16D or CFN take shreds of groups that have all 3
  15. I have just received a call in regards to 8 x 7wk old Staffy x pups that have been handed to a local Mt Druitt Resident tonight. The pups aren't wanted Is their any rescue group able to take them? I have no idea what they are crossed with I have no idea of their sexes or condition and as it is 9pm I wont be able to obtain that info or pics I am back at work in the morning so am running with info provided to me If you can offer help then please let me know
  16. oh i think the beaches down south are far superior lol Shoalhaven council is all dog friendly Callala Beach, huskisson, myola, culburra etc etc so beautiful and clean and pretty quiet That is where Im gonna retire with my dogs If I could find a job in Nowra we would move tomorrow attaching a pic of our recent visit just to entice you
  17. For me I don't understand not liking any animal. I love my dogs, but I adored my beautiful Blue Russian cat that has died and I love my current cat. We would probably only ever own 1 cat at a time, but to me they are just another animal and I quite like animals. Not sure why or how anyone can truly "hate" any animal
  18. We go there every day He is just being a pain, he is probably the man who was taking pics of ppl doing u turns in front of his house to park on the other side of the road outside the park. the park is set back from the road. A good 30-40m i reckon I doubt the noise level could be that high Granted it might be on a quiet Sunday morning, but every other day that road has alot of traffic on it. Of an afternoon there arent many dogs that bark and those that do are generally just playing and most ppl are out of there by dinner time. I know 2 of the ppl directly opposite the park and they both use the park for their dogs and one of them is a breeder of bulldogs or something so Im sure his yard would generate just as much noise as the park
  19. I would have purchased the entire animal ALIVE and rung some kind of bloody sanctuary or something like that They make me sick to the stomach they leave kids on the streets so why would they care about animal welfare
  20. I like my park and i dont like new parks, and maybe it is because i know my park and alot of the dogs or have seen them I know who is a bit snippity or who gets a little to rough (my boy lol) i dont stress about it though. to me it is like kids in a playground.
  21. I must have a bad behaved dog and I must be a crap owner My 9mth old goes to the off leash fenced dog park daily and he runs around like an idiot, wreslting and sniffing and chasing other dogs. He loves it. Does he have good recall? Not yet. are we working on it? Yes He goes to school weekly. Does he run to the gate to greet other dogs? Sometimes. I watch the dog coming in to see if i know the ppl and the dog if i dont then i make sure I get close enough to get his attention and for him to back up and let the new dog in For me if it is a designated off leash dog park then that is what it is There is plenty of walking tracks for owners to exercise their dogs if you dont want you dog to socialise with other dogs for whatever reason they why do you need to come into an off leash park in the first place? If it is a public park that permits off leash then that is different Then you need to be really diligant, but again, not a place i would take my Labrador as he is snappy at dogs in his face. So i dont risk taking him there. He goes to parks and places that i know are quiet and safe for him to run around
  22. Trying to find a nice off leash fenced park to meet a friend and her dog for a play date I am in St Marys and she is at Rockdale I found Lt Cantello Reserve hammdonville and it looks like a fenced park Does anyone know?
