Sash Is Off To The Vet Today
Bartok replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Is Sasha ok? We have had a couple dogs down with the Gastro bug also -
Sorry, just dogs. We pull him off back and make him sit and stay. When we throw the ball to the other dog she chases it and when she comes back he is back on top. We are trying to be consistent but it isn't stopping him.

I have a 5mth old male desexed Rotti who thinks that humping everything is the most fun in the world and it is his mission in life. Sometimes he trys to thrust but other times he just hugs from behind. He only does it to an undesexed female Any advice would be fantastic

If mine ate the cat pooh they were banished from the house as punishment. So foul

My Lab swims like Ian Thorpe and he could go forever. My Rotti swims like he is having a seizure. He does it and loves it but I watch him like a hawk as he has lead in his arse

Another Question... Best Cooling Mat?

I know she is a happy girl. Probably a different dog to what I new. Although she was just a delight and always up for cuddles. -
Another Question... Best Cooling Mat?
Bartok replied to Kelly_Louise's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Did you get her a shell pool? Maybe fill it in the morning when you leave for work. use ice cream containers also to fill and free big ice blocks and dump them in also -
Go to Lenards chickens or Red Lea or something like that.

Getting Weight Off Some Chunky Dogs
Bartok replied to Bartok's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
They get brisket bone in the evening. So wasn't going to change that. The main feed is in the morning. So that is where it has to be implemented. -
Just after some advice or a simple diet for a couple of dogs in care. They are in a kennel environment and a little bit on the think side. So need to come up with a simple but effective diet plan for them. 1 is a Rotti and the other a Husky- both female. I have cut out their dry food and was going to put them on raw bone only diet Not sure if this is right nutritionally for them. So just after some thoughts. I need it to be as simple and easy as possible to prepare

My Rotti is a big lump. Not a mean bone in him. It just doesn't help when people already have a bad perception of the breed. My BIL and SIL wont let my niece play with my Rotti as they are scared of him. My niece who is 3.5yrs loves him and thinks he is "cute". They have no problem with her touching my Lab - who is the one I watch and can be a little snippy. No matter how many times we try to get it through their think heads they just don't get it.

Is there anyone who would be willing to work with some rescue dogs in Western Sydney a couple times a week? Paid work, but possibly a discounted rate for rescue?
-
The dogs have been on raw bones and dry for the weekend and all is looking alot better.
-
Even if it is the Hills prescription tinned? I will do that. Put them on raw bones and dry only and see how they go. They are in getting desexed today. They said that if the feacle sample found anything then they wouldn't do them. All they said was it was clear. So I gather they would have checked for Cocidia and other stuff like that. They play and act normally.

I have 2 Husky's in foster care in kennels that continually have runny pooh. The vets have tested and the results came back clear. There are on tinned Hills ID and purina sensitive Dry. Anyone got any suggestions what we should try?

I know puppies do on their bellies. Not sure if they can get them when they are older. I'm sure there is someone on here that will know though.
-
I have had some with lumps and no lumps. If they lick alot then they may get infected, but girls more so then boys. I guess it is easier to keep one puppy quiet as opposed to several. I have no idea how I would keep a couple puppies quiet after desex. Like holding back the tides. Would be a nice change though.

I have had rescue pups with Coccidia also and after their Baycox treatment were fine. It doesn't mean the pup wasn't looked after.
-
My dogs are happy back to playing normally the next day.
-
I just say go for it and get a 2nd puppy. I never have one rescue pup at a time. I always have muliples.
-
I don't know. I am always bringing rescue pups home. So I just walk on in with it. Let my 3 big dogs sniff the puppies butt and then put puppy down. I know my dogs personalities and how they will react. My Shep just needs to sniff and then he is off and running like an idiot and pretends puppy isn't there. My Rotti stands over the top of the puppy and barks a little, but then he is fine. My Lab wants to sniff and lick and then he keeps out of the puppies way. If your dog is dog friendly then I wouldn't think having a puppy is a problem. Just make sure your older dog gets fed first and patted first etc.

Best Food For Rottweiler Puppy
Bartok replied to SkylineGTR's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Alot of my rescued rotti pups are fussy bums for the first week or two, but mine are all on raw chicken bones and either raw chicken mince that I mix with dry or I cook up with rice & veges. I often cut up an apple or raw carrot and they are happy to run down the yard with a piece and chew on it. I give them rice and sardines in oil once a week and try to do egg once a week but can be slack. -
My new foster puppy Wesley passed away over night. Poor little man was so skinny. At least he was out of the pound and in a safe warm place. Fly high little buddy.
