  1. Double-trouble, what a good idea. I ahve vegemite in the cupboard will defnitely try that out.
  2. I would like her to eat dry food for when we go away and leave Dora with a friend... they're not gonna prepare meals for her picky self, they're just gonna place her food down. I would like her to be prepared for when that happens (going away this year). I'll try all those tips, thank you
  3. Ooh, I'll try that one. My main objective is for her to eat her dry food on its own. She HAS eaten it once, and I could she that she didnt think it was bad. I think that because my mum always gives her fancy food that Dora is waiting for a better option. Thanks for the tips, any others will be much appreciated!
  4. I started on science diet and was great to start, but then both my kids suddenly stoped liking it so I switched to Eukanuba and havent had a problem since. Have you tried mixing it with something yummy like fresh meat just to get you furkid interested again. Ive mixed it in with everything that I could think of.... Dora just eats around the dry kibble bits. Was that ever a problem with you? Like, she just licks it off.
  5. My 7 and a bit month old doggy is very picky with dry food. Ive had this topic before but was wondering if anyone can reccomend a brand that their dogs LOVE? Im with Royal Canin Small Breed right now. Thanks
  6. Yep. I get the filthiest look from Dora everytime I make her go out, but I stay there until she pees so she basically has no choice. She was better when she figured out that we'll stay out in the terrible rain till she does her business, so now she just shoots out, trying to get it over and done with as soon as possible
  7. Puppies are definitely hard and tiring work. Impulse buys are a no-no when it comes to anything, ranging from dogs to cars. I agree with her, puppies ARE hard work, and an impulse buy isnt the best idea, but is an impulse buy on a shelter dog a good idea either?
  8. I found naturally smoked pig trotters today but didn't purchase Ivy any as I wasn't sure how fatty they would be? She's sensitive to fat. So I'd be intereted in any answers too .. What are pig trotters?
  9. Your thoughts? Dora loves them, but I'm not sure if they're that good for her.
  10. Will talk to mum about going for a checkup. Thanks for all the advice
  11. On the eyeball. Glad to know its nothing serious, will try wiping it off. Thanks
  12. My pup sleeps on her bed at the foot of MY bed. Bed's are really the strictest places she's not allowed to be in/on, apart from the garage and parents and sister's bedrooms. Okay, that's about half the house. I'm 15, she's never jumped up on my while I was asleep, if that's what you're worried about. Just make sure that your 10yo knows to show your dog where its place is... Use one set of rules... if the pup isnt allowed in your beds, he's not allowed in your 10yo's bed, etc. OK, I rambled for a bit there. But I doubt anything bad would really happen. Hope this helps
  13. That's hilarious! I too sometimes wonder how some of the positions can be comfortable
  14. THis will probably not help much, but I just wanted to say how beautiful Mollie is. I am not too familiar with Huskies, but have never seen one of that colouring! All the best.
  15. Dora has what looks like to be strands of short hair in her eyes. I think she picked them up from the carpet while rolling around. She doesn't seems bothered by them (its in both her eyes), so I wasn't really too worried about it, but its being there for a few days now. They're just on the outside of her eyes, on the coloured part. Where a contact lens would sit if dogs could wear them. Advice, anyone?
  16. She cant have free access outside because we have a Ragdoll cat and parents are scared he'll get stolen, so because of him the door always remains shut. I eventually want her to be outside when I'm at school. I've being in the yard more often lately, and giving her bones and such out there. I dont understand your last sentence though...
  17. She sleeps on the floor, at the foot of my bed.
  18. Maybe if yu take him out and come back an hour before bed, then he can get his adrenalin down in that hour? Either way, he'll end up being tired But yea, it DOES sound like he'd rather be with you, than in the laundry. Good luck!
  19. Same thing. Barks non-stop. Once I get a kennel, I'll start doing little baby steps, then eventually leaving her outside when I'm at school. I gave her a pigs ear an hour ago - she hasnt even chewed a 1/4 of it (it's being nearly one 1/2 hours) and wont leave it alone, so I know waht snack to leave out next time.
  20. I leave her with a Kong, about five bones (lol), water, toys, and her bed in a nice shady spot (dont have a kennel yet). I've spent time with her in the yard, maybe once a week she and I will go out there for about two hours (not much I know, but getting there). I will most DEFINITELY try the feeding thing. I have tried waiting for her to stop... but she just doesnt. When I say non stop... I MEAN non stop
  21. My 4 1/2 month old puppy has developed a case of seperation anxiety. Its not when I leave her for when I go to school, shes not alone, she has the cat to play with, its when I leave her in the yard after her meal for an hour of quiet time... she won't shut up. Thing is, she never gets a chance to stop barking, because after an hour of non stop barking my mother surrenders and lets her inside, no matter how much I protest. This is only making it worse. Any suggestions?
  22. Thanks for all the feedback. I gather that Advance is quite good, so once I'm finished with Optimum I'll switch to that
  23. I might as well talk to my vet about it then... or a trainer Thank you
