I don't know about anyone else, but if I was to buy a pet from someone, I want the vaccination card in my hand. But anyway, at the very least this article is naming and shaming her for being a backyard breeder. Hopefully when people go to buy a pet nowadays they might google the breeder/breed and neighbourhood to see the amount of recent advertisements have come from that person and can make a judgement as to whether they are on the level or not. Probably giving a bit too much credit to the everyday person. I am in no way condoning backyard breeders when I say this, but accidental litters do happen and therefore normal people will advertise dogs, but the amazing thing about the internet now is that you can find if that person has had previous litters and advertised them. Won't work in all cases, but I know that if I can't make my friends go to a registered breeder or rescue, then I make sure they do a little research on the breed/breeder, even if it is a simple Google search. If more people did that, then this lady will be out of business pretty quickly.

espinay2, I totally agree with you, I, for one, would much rather have a dog sniff me for a second then have a police officer tell me to empty out my pockets and open my handbag (or luggage if I am at the airport) just on the inkling that I might have something illegal on me. And the sniffer dogs even make me think twice as to whether I have any food in my bag when I am travelling interstate. I think this guy needs to focus on some bigger issues.

I am lucky enough to live close to Rouse Hill shopping centre in which dogs are allowed and they have water bowls and plastic bags for poop removal available. The shopping centre itself is all open which is why they avoid the normal shopping centre rules. The shops won't let the dogs in mostly though. As for accommodation it is very hard for us to go away with the dogs. Most won't take 3x 30kg dogs and we have friends who we want to go away with who have 2x 30kg dogs themselves. It is impossible to find a secure yarded house in which the dogs are allowed inside and they allow 5 dogs and 4 people! I would like to know about any restaurants nearby that would allow dogs. As I like to take them out and have them socialised somewhere other than the dog park.

Thank you CavnRott, I shall post it in that section. TrinaJ, I am currently feeding her 4 cups of dry food(vet recommended Hills Science Diet, Puppy Large Breed so we started that last week), and a cup of wholegrain rice mixed with veges (no onion). She gets a bone once a week as well.

I was wondering if anyone here can help me, I am looking for a healthy way for my 3 year old female Rottweiler to gain weight. She has had puppies and has since been desexed but the weight doesn't seem to want to go back on, and it is 9 months later. The vet has said there is nothing wrong with her health wise and to put her on puppy food. I was wondering if there was any other options as well as the puppy food to ensure that she puts on weight the right way, not a whole lot of fat. She used to weigh 35kg at her best and healthiest, now she weighs 29kg.

In no particualr order I would have to say: Rottweiler (own one now) Siberian Husky (own one now) Alaskan Malamute (have owned one) Bichon Frise (have owned one) Labrador Border Collie Maltese That's all I can think of at the moment but I am sure as I keep meeting new dogs at the local dog park that I will love more breeds as I go!!

The Rescue Forum is dangerous for me too!! Have already adopted one from the local pound and my OH keeps telling me not to look at the Rescue sites anymore because it is so tempting to get more and if I get to the point where I take my two dogs to the pound to meet another dog, it will already be coming home with me, lol.

We love being a 2 dog household so much we were thinking about adopting another one from the pound, but we shall wait a little while yet (if we can hold out, lol).

I have researched it a lil while back and apparentely some Sibe or Mal dogs will just have floppy ears instead of pointy ones. We were looking for a Husky look with blue eyes and pointy ears and all that but when we saw Duke and then we saw how well Whiskee and Duke got on when we first introduced them we couldn't go past him and had to rescue him from the pound. Me and the OH are suckers for sooky faces, lol.

Just adding some new photos, The only photo I have where they are both sitting and looking at the camera, lol The destruction caused by a puppy who loves to chew on branches and leaves and also dig out of the yard, hence the boards now attached to the back fence Both of them taking their rope for a walk, hehe

Yeah Whiskee is doing really well with the new addition. She is still a bit protective over her toys, but that's normal and she will learn to share. They have already decided that when they go for a walk they have to be walking next to each other, lol.

As of today we have a new addition to the family. His name is Duke and he is a Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute (we think) and he is 6 months old on the 24th of April. We adopted him from the pound today and already him and our 2 1/2 year old female Rottweiler Whiskee are getting along really well Here are some photos of the terrible twosome, lol. He was really sleepy today so most the photos are of him asleep, shall get some more over the weekend

I have just moved into the Quakers Hill area of NSW so if anyone knows of an awesome vet in this area it would be a great help so that I know where to take our Rotti if she ever needs a vet. Thank you in advance!
