yeah what is with the muzzle? Is that because of their prey drive?

Thanks.. To me they both sound like pretty crappy reason to pts... I understand that not all dogs can be rehomed due to agression reasons, but in the case of greys it sucks.. They were breed and trained to do something then they get punished for doing what is natural to them.. Well done to all grey foster careres who are making the time and effort to help you breed...
-
Call me naive but what is soo bad about greys?? I know people on Dol will say nothing but why are they soo hard to rehome? and why were they all put to sleep previously? I personally dont like the "look"(just my opinion) of them but have never had the opurtunity to meet one to assses there personality.. gily

Done x2... I have 2 emails as I just got married, so I used my maiden name aswell.. Sneeky sneeky... I hope our concerns are listened too.

In that situation I'd tell her you were in the middle of an exercise that she had just ruined and that you decide when your dog plays, not her. Doesn't matter if he is friendly or not, I'd be very grumpy that a good training session had been ruined and your dog's attention spoilt. I was extremly pissed to say the least... She headed our way after class and asked if he could play... I promptly told her no as her dog had upset bella (and she was still scared of the dog) , and walked away... I will not put my dog in a situation that she is uncomforatble with and one that I couldnt control if it went bad

No definatley not advanced... My dog most of the time has spagehetti for brains ... We are in the puppy group and some how the mastff got loose from his lead... I think he may have broken it because the lady was holding it different for the rest of the class...

I think you did the right thing... You took your dog out of the situation to make the other owner feel better. Its not your fault that they cant control their dog.. Im gonna hijack the thread abit here... We had a situation last night at obedience training that put us in an awkward situation... My Great dane was doing everything perfectly. We were in the middle of class and she had only eyes for me, next minute a ladies Bull Mastiff can hurtling towards Bella at full pelt... It obviuosly took Bella by suprise and scared her a little.. She ran behind me and was trying to get away from the other dog... I asked the lady to control her dog and she just mosied on upto us in no real hurry and said they were only playing.. What got my goat up was that Bellas body langauge was deffinatley not a playing one.. Her heckles were up, teeth were bared, tail in between her legs and a small growl was coming from her, all the while trying to hide behind me... I am all for dog socialisation but in a controlled manner.. Obviuosly if 2 huge dogs like a Dane and a Mastiff (he was huge, larger than standard, definatly pure as he is in the ring... 8months and 70kilos) were to go each other, there would be very little a group of women in a playing feild could do... Needless to say the rest of training was a shambles.. Bella was always looking over her shoulder to see where the other dog was.. Sorry to over take, but like I said I think you did the right thing.. If only all owners would do that..

Dog Dna Proves Gold Coast Council Made Wrong Breed Id
Gilypoo replied to Mrs Rusty Bucket's topic in In The News
As most people know I work in Local Government, particularly within the admin side of the Ranger section. I put the boys to a test. A while ago someone posted this link: http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html I thought it would be interesting to see if the Rangers could idenitify a pitty.. Suprise suprise 3 out of 3 couldnt identify one. I took it one step further and tested the Administrator of Law and Saftey Services (Rangers boss), you guessed it.. he couldnt identify it either, so to top it of I asked the Assistant CEO and he couldnt identify it either... Now the boys are more reluctant to identify a pitty before getting some clarifiaction from a vet. I know not all vets can identify one either but better then some poor cross breed that "looks" like one getting put down on looks alone. -
My Great Danes, pedigree prefix and name is Manningdanes Belladonna... We knew we wanted to call her Bella from the start so my breeder suggested Belladonna.. Works well I think

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/7928844/d...-man-with-rifle A New Zealand man is recovering in hospital after his dog shot him in the backside by jumping on a loaded rifle. The 40-year-old man, from the northern town of Te Kopuru, was sitting in the back seat of a four-wheel-drive when the dog stepped on the trigger, the New Zealand Herald reports. The man was rushed to hospital and had surgery to remove the bullet. He remains in a stable condition. The man had been returning from a pig hunting trip with friends when the accident happened. The bolt action rifle had been used during the hunting trip but the group told police they thought it had been unloaded

You know in typical fashion, when you don't want them to take money, they will!! Whereas I wanted them to, and they didn't! They trade as Petsure, right? I have one of mine with Medibank and that is what shows on my statement, which is why it didn't twig immediately (or a few months later ) that Petplan weren't taking my money. I saw some company with Pet in the name and thought all was good. You usually have your problem, not mine, when it comes to those nasty direct debits!!! The worst for it are Gyms Yep it was pet sure... I was like, what the hell did I spend that much money on.. I was going through my head all the things I had brought my girls in the last week and was like... Crap they are spolit.. Then I figured it out
-
I had the complete opposite problem with my insurance company.. I looked on my statement and saw that some money had been taken out of my account. I had to call the bank cause the name didnt sound familiar.. It was medibank but they trade as someone else. They had taken my premiums out of my account, without sending me a copy of my new policy or any type of notification...Its lucky that Im happy with them and am staying with them.

All done... I have sent you a PM

Subject: FW: URGENT Warning - Pet Owners I work in Local Government and this is an email that is getting passed around through the Shires in WA by the Rangers I just thought that I would share Wildcare has just received this notice – am onsending to members for their info. Please tell every dog or cat owner you know. Even if you don't have a pet, please pass this to those who do. Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by TARGET , Foreman's Garden Supply and other garden supply stores contains a lethal ingredient called 'Theobromine'. It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks. Although the mulch has NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company's web site, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs and cats.

An eye for an eye, I say.. Humans make me sick sometimes...

Silver is accident and illness only. Doesnt cover vaccinations or general check ups, however if you go to a checkup and have a specific problem you want to talk to them about and it eventuates into a claim then you can claim that intial consult..... There is a claim form that you need to get your vet to fill out, you sign it and attached a copy of the reciept and then they pay. Sometime you need to sign a waver at your vets to give them permission to share information with the insurance company. You can nominate a cheque or directlty into your account. I put in a claim on 15th June and I recieved my cheque yesterday (23rd) ... Make sure you read the PDS thou, They are really helpful on the phone aswell, I havent had any problems with them.. They pay 100% of claims minus the excess for a value of 10,000 per year and 10,000 for anyone claim.. That means that say your dog/ cat got cancer, they will pay 10,000 for that claim and no more as long as you havent made any other claims in that year.. (hope that makes sense) You can get the Gold to include $60 worth of elective stuff, i.e vaccinations, flea treatment etc, but I think it cost more than $60.00 in the premiums..
-
Im with Medibank for my 2.. I have the $200 excess on my Great Dane and the $500 on my GSD. When I signed up my rationalisation was that Danes are more prone to problems, hence why I went for the lower excess... Low and be hold, the active GSD is more of a problem. When my plan is up for renewal I will be changing to both $200.00 I did the maths and it is approx $80.00 more expensive for the year to claim $300.00 back so if you make one claim you will be $220.00 in front (hope that makes sense). If you can afford it I would do the lower excess.. Most of my bills come in around the $300.00 mark (99.99% of the time after hours vet visits)

In australia if you leave a family member a certain % of your estate then they cant dispute the will. My nanna has doen this with her daughter.. Saves all the legal hassel.. Yah for the dog thou ;)
-
I have Medibank.. They have been awesome, turn around time from when I lodge a claim to having the cheque in my mailbox is approx 10 days... Always very helpful... Cost approx 250.00 per dog per year on the silver paw plan (accident and illness cover)

With my kids as pups it was maximum of 1-2hours and as adults 8 hours... Sometimes you cant help having to leave them but I feel soo guilty when I do

I would also recommend the same thing.. Probably doesnt help your efforts now but I LLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my scotch guarding... Everything comes straight off it... Very handy when you have a Great Dane slobber pot...
