i paid $3000 for the dog plus travel dna tests and hip and elbow scores. i have asked her to refund and will send the dog back and just want my $3000, at this stage it was no. i havent decided if i cn take it further or not. i am very unhappy with the hip scores but also the elbows too, she said that they were perfect. funny thats not what the x ray showed. no matter if i am breeding show stud or pets i want the best i can breed and this is not going to be with him. i know if i have had sold the dog i would be alot more concerned for the buyer and my breed (and reputation) thaks for your thoughts wish there was more people like you.

if she is close to having pups this is normal in my dogs they go off there dry food and just want meat ect. we use a really good beef or chicken mince from the butcher and feed twice a day.

Firstly i am a small breeder who goes buy all the rules and reg. i have choc labs and love them all my girls are excellently scored with 0:0 elbows and dont have one above 4 for hips. we decided to buy a male dog from a (good haha) breeder with good bloodlines i explained what we wanted and how we try and have excellent hip and elbows in our breeding dog aswell as all the other things too. the dog we were looking at was 9mnths old and from very good parents with good results. she guaranteed (which i know is impossiable to do)but she did guarentee me very low hip and elbows have an email that says so. we paid alot of money for this dog (i mean a lot)and we then transported him from nsw to qld and had him pra tested he has since turned 12mnths we just got his hip/elbow scores back much to my disapointment his scores are as follows 10:7 hips and 1:1 elbows. the average for the breed is 12-13 i rang the lady and she didnt see a problem with this score at all. i know is not the end of the world sort of scores but to me its not good enough. she then contined to tell me that if i was only breeding pets it didnt really matter anyway. i asked her if she would refund my money of what we paid for the dog and i would return him she said she wasnt in the postition to do this. i am disapointed that a breeder like this can not see the problem. not sure what or if i can do anything about it.

just wondering if anyone has had this happen, i have a female choc lab and she seems to have a season then a month later have another (ths one seems to be the real one) as we have mated her on it. she has done this twice now, just seeing if anyone has had or heard of this before. thanks
-
yes she is a funny one, the people i bought her off said she had a season in oct but i got her and she came in in nov and went straight in pup.
-
hi yeah she was late nov, guess she is just a bit early, just my others were before her, so just surprised. she is only new so was unsure of her seasons.
-
hi just enquiring on one of my girls, she had puppies on the 14.1.10 and seems to be bleeding yesterday and today is it possiable she is back in season already.

CCCQ have been pretty good at putting all the information needed in their magazine. Just take that along and slap the vet around the head with it. No reason to think the vet associations/whatever haven't been educating the vets, all the ones around here seem to know about the ammendment. Then again - speak to the VET not the 15 year old on phone duty and you usually get a better answer oh so very true. yes my last few mags got torn up by a very interested 1yr daughter. (not happy) will have to learn to put them up higher. you would think the vets would be sent the rules when they come out. oh well. my vet has said yes so we will see how they go next wk. interesting when he rang the microchip people and they said 8wks. like i said before one set of rules would be nice. thanks for your help
-
yes i would have thought so to but all the vets i ring say 8wks, my vet is happy to do them after 6wks as long as he knows it is ok. I have spoken to the CCC and they said although they are not the ones who have the rules it is ok for a vet do it then as long as they are happy to. be nice if everyone new the same rule would make it all alot easier.

hi i am on the sunshine coast in QLD and am looking to get my pups microchipped, i have been told so many different things by different people. i have the vet coming next wk and the pups will be just over 6wks old. is this ok. i was told yes by some but then the vet said that he thought it was not until after 8wk. can some one pls help.
-
yes that is a good idea normally by then they are all booked and ready for there homes. i all ready have some sold and they are only 2wks old so prob should just put the ones that are sold in the new owners names.
-
Just on that point, you are now oh i was told still in QLD we didn't have to as yet I'm sure that a QLD breeder will correct me if I'm wrong but compulsary chipping was introcued some time last year from memory yes i did just find out that thanks so much this is my first litter since then so was unsure, would have had them done anyway. thanks. what age do you get them done at with there 6wk vac or is it to young. i have labs.
-
Same goes here!! You as a breeder are supplied with paperwork for all pups microchipped....the microchipper (vet) submits documentation to the registering body and you are given forms for each individual pup for the new owner to transfer the pup into their names.....the breeder sends off the signed transfer form..... I generally keep a copy for myself.... so do we just pay the microchipping cost and the new owners pay the transfer cost

hi there just wonderin what other breeders out there do about when they have there pups microchipped, who's name do you fill the forms out in, and then how do you go about getting the owners to transfer them over. just wanting to know other breeders way of doing it all.

hi i am wondering if any one has any info or opinion on buying two pups same breed maybe even the same litter at the same time. i have been told this is not a good idea by some and good by others. would just like some feed back to send to some people i know about it good or bad.
