Thanks guys I asked the breeder and they said as long as his doing well then no need to change. As for changing to adult food he recommened at least 12 months. I've read and been told by others that should change earlier but I'll stick with a year. Lucky no ligament damage to his leg. We went and saw a specialist and they determined that he must of damaged nerves around the femur or some sort. My wife knows exactly what and where. His leg is bandaged up so he can't walk or put weight on it. Should be coming off tommorrow so we wait and see

Hey guys my boy has just turned 7 months. We have been feeding him advance puppy biscuts and can since he was 8 weeks. Is this brand of food suitable for his breed? Does it have everything in it needed for his optimal growth/development? It has higher protein percentage compared to other brands. I haven't really cooked or added anything else to his diet as I assumed it was a all round balanced feed. I have no problem cooking or changing his diet if needed. Time and money isn't a issue. Also when do i change him over to adult food? I have heard some saying around 6/7months but it makes more sense to keep him on it until atleat 1.5 years as he would be still growing.

I feel better reading this. I had my 7mth British bulldog pup spay at the same time he had xrays. I heard and read before about not doing to early otherwise affects growth and development but I never really looked into further. Before the op I asked two different vets their opinion and they both said it wouldn't matter. His currently 17kgs at 7mths so I'd say more solid then most bullies his age. I did some reading over the net last night and it has concerned me that most people advise not before 12 mths. Also I noticed that it relates more to giant breeds but what about bulldogs and the huge muscle they develop?

They mentioned something about ligament issue but honestly I don't think they are really even sure. How expensive is this arthroscopy?

I forgot to mention that they localised his pain to his knee joint. Very sore and tender maybe something with the cartilage?

Thanks guys for info and advice. Will certainly limit his movements. Always heard how fragile bullys were but never really understood to now. I don't think I could ever leave him unsupervised while playing. All that mass and muscle is already hard on the joints. I'm looking into pet insurance for any future complications as I'm sure they pop up again

Could you please explain what is trigger point therapist? And if it was soft tissue damage will it heal up on its own?

i haven't figured out how he damaged his aswell...Maybe the way he slept or moved??? Im really hoping i get the same outcome. Any signs of improvment will make me happy as ill know its at least healing. Only time will tell. Im looking into pet insurance now anyone suggest?

My poor 7 month bully has done something to his back leg. The other day we went out for a hour and came back and he could barely walk. We only noticed it when he woke up. His is caged off in the laundry when we are not home. His leg is so sore that he wont let it touch the ground and walks on 3 legs. We took him to the vet and they examined it with no obvious signs of anything serious. Gave him a injection shot for the pain and if it wasn't better the next day then take him back for xrays. We hoped it would get better over night but unfortunatley it didnt and we took him back. But the vet still could not see anything damaged or moved from the xray and has sent them off to a specialist. We have to wait 48hrs for a reply. Meanwhile i feel so terrible seeing my boy in pain. He is such a lovely playful pup and now he just sits there in pain. I do my best to kept him happy but i can't let him out in case i aggreviate it more. Its a agonising wait now and my wife and i are so sad. Has anyone else had a similar experince and can anyone suggest what has happen to my poor boys leg?

Anyone know or recommend a experinced breeder in Perth that cab glue my bulldog ears? Urgent as his is 10 weeks ana ears are starting to set now

Hi guys, Im from Perth and there are only a few breeders of british bulldogs here. So puppy availabilty is very scare not to mention finding the right colour preference. So I've been searching the web and have found a puppy we like from NSW. We are in the early stages of discussion with the breeder but this is what we know so far. Puppy is fully papered Fully vaccinated/wormed and micro chipped Registered breeder of NSW Has only one bitch used to breed All paperwork to show health status Father is from the line that the Canterbury bulldogs mascot's are from I'am waiting for additional pictures of him plus of the parents aswell. I am considerung using third party ( Escrow Aust) to hold onto money until I have the puppy. I will be in contact with their vet to confirm and verify health status etc. Is there anything specific that needs to be included in the health check? Hip scores? Is there a breeder ID number they should have to confirm quailty of pups and their conduct etc? Should I be asking for copies of their drivers license and vaccination records, health status, papers of parents etc? Any help greatly appreciated guys.
