OMG Calvalblaze how many do you think are in there? Bel - sorry to hear no puppies for you Rebanne - how are all things going down there for you? We had the two week weigh in today. Smallest 900g largest 1.2kg. Have some photos but will need to resize them. Will try and post later.
-
I do not know of this store. But I recommend SwaY at http://www.whelpingsupplies.com.au Seconded

Well we had the one week weigh in. The puppies have put on between 200 to 350g. Poor little Lucy though as got an infection on her belly so is on antibiotics and has to be washed every day.

I think you have made the right decision also and I also think you should consider getting a cat for company. They are alot more self sufficient. More adaptable to living inside and will give you the company you need.

Cavalblaze - great boobs!!!

Took the brood to the vet today just to put my mind at ease. Everything is fine, everyone is gaining weight nicely and Lucy has enough milk. I think it did Lucy good to get out (took the pups too) but as she wasnt glued to them I think she realised they werent going anywhere. Here is todays photo.

Yay Fordogs! Hope you can have a little rest today!
-
Thanks Piper. She seems to have stopped panting this morning. My other bitch never did it, so it was new to me! I am going to take her for a post whelp check this morning just in case. We live a fair way out of town so I thought I would feel more relaxed taking her and having her checked. She doesnt seem to have much milk but the pups seems to be settled enough! Fordogs - Any news?

Congratulations!! And I thought Jazz getting out 9 in 8 hours was impressive! I had to put Jazz on lead the first few days - had to drag her to get out of the box but once outside she was fine but very quick to toilet and run back in. Thanks Piper, I have managed to get her out twice but she is so quick. How long did Jazz pant for afterwards? Lucy is eating well but still a little slow on the water intake. I suppose she will drink what she wants.

ooh good luck. Hope it all goes well for you!

Thanks Rebanne, no she didnt waste anytime at all!! A quick photo of Lucy with her bubs. She is very tired and wont go out to the toilet. She has eaten and had a little water which I had to put in front of her. She is very protective and wont leave them for a second. Hopefully she will go out soon!!!

Ok looks like we are finished here. Started at 9:05pm, finished at midnight. 7 puppies. 3 choc and white boys, 1 black and white boy, 1 choc and white girl, 2 black and white girls. Mum is so proud of herself. Have taken a photo which I will upload tomorrow. Going to have a rest on the lounge where I can hear her and will check in another hour. Cant believe how quick the first 5 were, 5 in 1 1/2 hours! Glad I had the calcium which I gave her after pup 5 she was getting very tired. More in morning I am going to get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
-
She is full steam ahead. 3 out in 35 minutes! 2 choc boys and one black and white tri girl so far.
-
First puppy born 9:05pm. Looks like it will be a long night.

Lucy has started to nest, not in the lovely warm handmade whelping box with all the modern conveniences that she has been happy in for the last week or so, NO - back in her shed, in the dirt in a hole she has dug for herself! Will leave her there for the time being as she is happy and settled. It is nice and warm as the sun is on it. Will reassess this arvo when it starts to get cooler. Now inside and destroying all the newspaper in the whelping box.
-
How stunning. Love the tri.

Thanks Sway, would be so much easier, especially when you have a dog that doesnt really want to cooperate the other way!!!
-
Wow 3 sausages, didnt she throw them up!! Yes think I better start taking temperatures. Mmm the beef broth sounds good to me let alone the dog!!!
-
As the title said, I never would have thought to use an ear thermometer but I was looking at a website that had "instructions" for using an ear thermometer in dogs. Does anyone use one? WOuld probably be easier but is it accurate?
-
Yay for the poodles!!! SO exciting. Good luck Got Nuthin. Lucy is getting fatter and fatter and I am getting more and more nervous! Not long to go here, although no nesting going on yet.
-
Oh good luck! I am nervous for you!!! Sending good labouring vibes your way!

Ok going to try and post a shot of Lucy's belly, doesnt really show how fat it is. Week to go here!
