  1. SBT - I recon there is something in that. Do you know if it doesnt rain on the new moon then there will be no more decent rain until the next new moon. If it does then you usually get follow up rain the week after as well. I had trouble with BC last season and a friend of mine who had 4 broodmares in season as well didnt get pregnant even though they were served multiple times.
  2. Ish - they are so cute and mum looks so proud
  3. Oh Whippet how gorgeous. Love the colours - cant wait to see them when they are a little older!!
  4. Whippet - congrats on your babies - sorry about the loss of one girl. Look forward to photos SOL - Fingers crossed for you
  5. MAD - she is so cute and her name really suits her. My BC Lucy is the same she follows me everywhere and just wants to be with me. This is the peak bonding time so enjoy!! Belgian - sorry to hear your news - hoping something comes up for you soon. Lauren - Bet you cant wait!! I unfortunately had to put my 5yo BC to sleep on Saturday - I am totally devastated. It was such a hard decision but I know it was for the best. Although Lucy cant replace him the amount of love she shows me is helping fill the void. I so miss my little man.
  6. MAD - Welcome to the BC club. Cant wait to see photos and find out what her name is. Bluefairy - Glad you are ok. So exciting about puppy. Fingers crossed for you JAXD - I got a Fujifilm S2000 recently - it has continuous shots and can take up to 13 shots per second. I thought of an SLR but if you dont have the right lens etc then they dont turn out that great. This one was $400 and is fantastic - another dog breeder friend of mine has one as well as she thinks it is great. It is just being superceded though by another which will probably be even better. PHOTOS PLEASE EVERYONE

  11. Woohoo Skyehaven - congratulations - cant wait for pics
  12. Thanks for all your responses. Unfortunately i have been layed up in bed for 3 days but it has given me time to think. As to change in circumstances. We have a new puppy - it hasnt seemed to have bothered im at all however we have changed the sleeping arrangements (which happened before the puppy came). Also at the beginning of the year he did his first natural mating - could this make any difference to him. Will still be going to get him checked out at the vet but can not drive at the moment. Also if you think the above has affected him, how do I reverse it?? PS - he has been DNA tested for CL and CEA and is clear
  13. Roy is a 5 year old Border Collie - he has always been my little sweetheart best temperament you could ask for. My vet even commented that he is the best temperamented border collie she has ever met. Then a few weeks ago he started to growl - not very often and not very much - at first I was just thought it was just him making a funny noise with his throat as he sometimes does that when he gets too excited. Then today he was sitting down and my 4 year old daughter was standing about 2 feet away from him - not doing anything to him - just playing her own game - nothing to do with him - all of a sudden he started to growl and then he snapped at her!! I was mortified. I quickly grabbed him, pulled him away and put him in his yard. I dont know where this has come from or why. Does anyone have any suggestions? I dont know what to do. There is no way I could trust him again around the kids. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Hehehe 750gms - that is bigger than my babies at 2 weeks!! I guess 6
  15. Guess on numbers Hannah - she looks huge but I suppose her puppies wont be tiny will they?
  16. Are you sure he doesnt have a bacterial infection? My puppy had one and had to be on AB's and be bathed is some special solution every day for a week - they were weepy sores
  17. I suppose your both right - I am a research assistant so I like statistical data - maybe I should make that one of my projects (or maybe not!!)
  18. I didnt think Ultrasounds were that expensive - mine cost me $44 for my bitch
  19. Hi All As the title suggests - was wondering how common it is that these things happen, I can honestly say that I didnt really think it was that common until I started coming on DOL. My bitch didnt get pregnant this season and this is the first time that I have had this happen to me. Of course I was devastated but when I read about other people I realise it happens quite a bit. Does anyone have any statistics on it?
  20. Hi Sharna First of all sorry to hear about loosing your Rotti - so sad. It would probably be best if possible to let them meet on neutral ground is there a park nearby? Have your dogs on a lead and make sure you have control of the Sibe. You will be able to judge pretty quickly how she is going to react. Make sure that until you are sure your Sibe has accepted the pup that you dont leave them alone together. Hopefully with any luck she will accept him just fine. Hope this helps and I am sure that you will get plenty of advice. Mel
  21. AI is definately doable but make sure that you have the blood tests done to make sure she is ovulating.
  22. I wouldnt count on it and to be sure I would be AI'ing today.
  23. FD26 - Definately a cutey good luck for the night jax - thanks for the link will have a look
  24. Hungrypillow - oh what a hard choice you are going to have - they are all so gorgeous. FD26 - Cant wait for photos - looks like you are up to a flying start!! Niques - Lucy is EXACTLY the same she has no interest in treats what so ever nor food. Am thinking I might have to start the clickeer thing, she does go well on praise, got no idea where to start with the clicker thing. Can anyone point me in the right direction. She also has no interest in the Kong whatsoever Oh on another note - what is your puppies FAVOURITE GAME? For Lucy the only thing she really loves is a pulling game with a towel and I know that isnt good for her - so what does your pup love??
