LMAO at this comment just posted on Marks page Shame that Mark then has already taken his case to the media and TT - and I would certainly not trust Mark to sort out anything, including his washing -

nah, it has to be FIGJAM -
yep, can confess to having been involved looking through a viewfinder at my shot, and taking a couple of steps backwards to get just the perfect framing - and falling off a walkway - fortunately onto some bushes - and yes, also copped the - is the camera OK, before anyone asked how I was. Wrenched my knee as I was falling in my bodies fleeting attempt to keep me upright, but it was OK in a couple of days. And yes, the camera was OK.

not to mention the fact that Moorook have admitted they free range their cats waiting for adoption, as they consider it cruel to have them in cages - no it is cruel to let them roam like that and not be able to be monitored, handled or fed properly, far more easy for cats to be bullies to each other under these conditions, and an injured cat escape notice, plus spread disease through the colony, and the reality is I am sure the real reason the cats are kept that way is not at all for their welfare but rather that meant they did not have to change litter trays -

I am sure they are going to make it, like everything else there, "state of the art". Obviously they just have a different state they think is state of the art -

oh, we are going to look at the cattery now are we - thought they were perfectly content with the cats free ranging - perhaps someone (maybe even the independent vet?), has suggested that free ranging cats you want to adopt is not the most brilliant of ideas, and they should actually be contained so they can be fed, treated, monitored for fleas etc, and more easily caught for starters......... -

perhaps the huge volume of supporters aren't at Moorook at the moment, so he is trying to whip up frenzy about something else for them? Very strange, and guess the animals at his wildlife place don't need a lot of work to keep their shelter clean. -

that's alright, looks like he has a few of the trained loons ready to take action the minute they see anything at all suss, by calling the bat phone when the target is spotted -

Also wonder how many animals they loose to snake bite because of the piles of rubbish around, as well as free range animals that can then easily come across them. -

Interesting point they have just made about how the cats are treated there too Given the fences they had posted on their website shown in the pictures, they are not going to stop any cats scaling them at all, so sounds like they have cats just roaming at will, plus obviously free feeding from the food supplies - sounds more and more like total lack of control on anything there. -

Always interesting when groups like this that scream how they are all about the welfare of the animals and what is best for them, consider letting them suffer like this is better than being PTS through compassion. I used to say that the best gift when we are an animal owner is being able to do for our pets what we can;t do for people we care about, ie end their suffering and torment, however it would seem that to people like this, that choice should be taken away from us as well, and we will no longer be able to end even our pets own suffering but need to see them go on until last gasp. Think the comments about how if she closes, that the Riverland will be swimming in dogs are largely typical hysterical overreaction - if that were the case, then surely she should have been singlehandedly rehoming thousands of animals, not the small figures claimed. Certainly appears that the animals were certainly just being stockpiled there and warehoused, and only the raid succeeded in finally getting some of these dogs out of there into homes, not because she is doing such a great job of finding new homes all the time. Can;t see anything on the Moorook page - has it been blocked to anyone not a friend, or have they just blocked me - can;t see any posts from them on either of my facebook accounts on their page -

yep, definitely sounding very compound like. Got to wonder how much they would be screaming about what a breeder was doing behind the "compound gates", if they were doing all of this. -

Noticed this on Marks page Mark Aldridge 15 hours ago near Adelaide, South Australia The final Council inspection was held today, of the 20 odd orders we have passed 95%, with flying colours, the issues left dont make a lot of sense to most of us, the sections we have not complied relate to a pallet of rubbish and a messy rear shed that has not been used for years, in any event we will get this sorted, working bee will be on the 26th, light work only and some making areas pretty including the new playground area and the new office, final planning applications will now be under way and cover the state of the Art quarantine area....nearly there -
the code as it is will wipe out all cat breeding within 1 generation - all kittens now have to have c5 vaccination before sale. Any cats must then be tested to see if they have FeIV / FIV before being allowed to be bred from - if they test positive they cannot be used for breeding. Any kitten you have bred yourself and has been vaccinated will of course test positive, as this is what happens when they have been vaccinated - the test shows antibody reaction. So not only will you not be able to breed with your own kittens, you will not be able to buy one from another breeder either. And that is leaving aside the potentially lethal effects of c5 vaccination in the first place. Given that pounds ans shelters, in their own code which was reviewed in 2011, only have to have c3 vaccination, and catteries are meant to be set up so as to allow absolutely no chance of contact with "outside" cats, the chance of our breeding cats even contracting these conditions is nil. And that is also leaving aside that before a kitten can be sold, it needs to be vet checked to ensure it has no internal parasites or other things - most of which will require swab testing, or blood drawn from the jugular, and about $800 per kitten to get all the results. Given I only sell my kittens for $650, most of which covers their food, litter, vet work etc, and leaves precious little if any left over, it means I will be losing over $800 for each and every one.

given they want Vic breeders to not only have health management plans, but breeding plan and retirement plans for each and every animal in our care, would think that if we have to do it, then shelters certainly should, since the chances that animals coming into their care are going to have medical or age related issues is far greater than a breeder. Just sayin And had no idea that it was simply OK to just ask other volunteers, or indeed just the vet nurse, about treatment of animals, and do so with their approval, why that is far better than paying a pesky vet, who afterall, has only had more years of training and experience, for their advice, when in Vic, we are going to have to get our vets approval for each and every thing our animals eat, play with, and fornicate with, and indeed for how long they can mate too (or even if they should be mated, and not just retired out in accordance with our vet approved retirement plan). -

buy the ticket online now and it is only $18. Planning to go and avoid the PH & OL stands, as well as some others, whilst happily patronising those I support

have not yet been blocked, but figure that will be a matter of time, they clearly don't want to hear anything other than ego stroking
