You can bring puppies to Kepala at any age - maybe just bring a crate or something for when they have had enough, it really is just about you monitoring your dog and those of us with bigger puppies monitoring ours as well (I have a rather boisterous boy). In terms of a play date apart from kepala the most central dog park that is fenced that I know of is in north melbourne (near lort smith), I know that there are a few others around but this is quite central for people on both sides - or when the weather gets a little finer there is a fenced dog beach at brighton. My suggestion is just pick a place and time and who ever can go will - it can be hard trying to cater to everyones needs. CF.

Not sure why it says Qld - have never lived there - will have to fix it Are you in Victoria? Your profile suggests you are in QLD. You're welcome to come, but your trip maybe expensive.

Yay for puppie cuddles - and all the other cuddles - I wonder if Bob will feel the need to protect this one too Can't wait - it's only a week away :D

Hi All Just wondering how other people handle the toy rotation. I do mine in three lots. I have three tubs that he gets for a week at a time. Just wondering if there is any advice on how often you should rotate and how many toys should be in each rotation? Thanks in advance for any suggestions, Gotta go toy being destroyed as I type. Canine Friend.

Never mind - I thought it looked good on the camera I do have it, but it didn't turn out at all good.

Hey Pointees Just wondering if you still have the one of Dexter with the purple toy that you showed me at lunch yesterday - would really like another look at it, could you post it please. Thanks a bunch. CF.

That seems like the most likely explanation

Great photos guys. I am totally stealing the one's of Dexter if no-one minds. Evolving - you got a shot while he is looking a little sensible (looking into the distance) - must have been a rare moment

People Who Work Fulltime And Have A Puppy.
caninefriend replied to Whipitgood's topic in General Dog Discussion
I work full time, in hindsight I would have taken a few days off , more to cope with the sleepless nights of letting him outside for the toilet But I think if you work full time it's good that they get used it as a normal part of their day. Just make sure if winter lots of warm blankets and somewhere warm to sleep and plenty of toys including treat toys. And in summer I just make sure he has plenty of water sources. He has a dog door so he lets himself in and out which helps with keeping him warm and cool. Just make sure you play lots when you are at home and wear them out. I have used a dog day care a couple of times - it's great but a little expensive but if you can afford it i would definately recommend it. Never had any troubles - in fact if i get home early i usually get dirty looks for waking him up (he is only 11 months old). Tell your friend good luck with their puppy and not to forget they are resilient. -
What Does Your Dog Do That Makes You Laugh?
caninefriend replied to fiveplusone's topic in General Dog Discussion
There are soooo many funny things that Dexter does. Or at least things that I find funny Most recently he got out of bed before me and was making such a racket - came back in the bedroom and was very upset so I followed him out to discover a foriegn cat in his kennel (which he doesn't use) - despite being 36 kilos and very scary he wasn't going after it until he had the all clear - which I gave him and then he sped outside to scare it away. Very big wus But my favourite thing is that I get up early five days a week and if i turn on the light i get the dirtiest look in the world - so i stumble around in the dark so my darling puppy can get a few more minutes sleep before his walk!!!! He is also a fan of Zoomies - he has a track around the coffee table, down the passage, out the dog door, around the backyard, back through the dog door, flies down the passage and launches from a fair distance onto the couch I could go on for hours... -
Do You Walk Your Dog No Matter What The Weather ?
caninefriend replied to mrs tornsocks's topic in General Dog Discussion
Unless it bucketing we go mostly twice a day, we both have rain coats and if I let him Dexter would wear his even inside he loves it that much. (very handy saves the whole drying debacle when we return). Going out in the rain for the toilet is a different story he would rather hold on - just stick his head out the dog door and changes his mind -
Hi Aussienot I (only yesterday) started to try to train my puppy (10 months) to walk on my treadmill. I don't like using it and if he doesn't I probably wont keep it but thought it would be worth a try. Do you have any tips for training him? So far he is just standing on it and being treated. He is quite used to it as it is in my study and so it has always been around. Thanks for any suggestions. Canine Friend.

Dol Kepala Pics - Sunday May 9th
caninefriend replied to lappiemum's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Hey Pointees, It is a tuff call, I have been debating that myself. He really seemed to enjoy being able to run around at his whim but seemed to miss the couch. Since we have been home (about 24 hours) he has only been outside to toilet and then spent the rest of the time on the couch or bed. I am thinking he would like the best of both worlds, but if it really came down to it I think the couch would win . CF. Glad you and the Dexter had fun! I wonder what he enjoys most, farm lifestyle or the couch? -
