I'm tired already and it's only been a night, phew! He does NOT like his crate, and whinged for nearly an hour last night at the top of his lungs even though it's right next to my bed. I ended up sitting in front of it (meanwhile he's still whining) until he went to sleep. He got up 2am and then 5am to pee, so i've been up ever since. He's finally sleeping under my feet at the moment so I had time to jump on and give you guys an update. Everything's good so far minus the crate hate, he does have a bad habit of pulling my hair though which i'm trying to stop. I'm very surprised at my cat Ajae though, he was nowhere near as bad as I expected. He had a bit of a hiss but that was about it. He's been walking around following Easton everywhere just watching him, but it seems like they could be friends in no time! No toilet accidents yet either. I do have photos, but they're not very good sorry! He wouldn't hold still, and then my camera went flat. I couldn't get a nice shot of his face, he has lovely eyes and the flash ruined them! My partners the one in the photo giving him a cuddle.

I pick little Easton up in 9 hours. Guh it's gone so quick, *NERVOUS*. I'm worried i'll do something to ruin him because he's my first dog, even though i've read a tonne of books and had info drilled into me by very helpful people. Makes it more worrying aswell since we have an 8yo cat, he's never lived with a dog before. So I have to work with that aswell as the whole new pup thing! SIGH. I hope everything goes well. Will post some photos of the darling when we get home from the airport tonight!! <3

I found out that he should be transferring directly into my name, so in SA I guess they allow that. Alot less stressed now that I don't have to worry about that side of things.

Hi all, just thought id post this here as obviously someone will have an answer to my question! I've contacted CCCQ but haven't received a reply yet. As some of you know am getting a new German Shorthaired pointer pup soon, from Heiderst kennels in SA. However I live in QLD, so do I need to fill out any transfer/registrations forms etc to be able to show him here? I am a member of the CCCQ, but just not sure how to go about a pup from another state??

I'm a member of that reptile forum, I would sooner believe the advice given by us snake owners, after all we are the ones with snakes and we know how they react to the devices. I personally haven't tested one but many people have with no effect, the snakes don't care!

This thread is wonderful, it's lovely to see all the excited new, or soon to be puppy owners! Just an update on my situation, I had this niggling feeling about Boy 2, that I wasn't quite happy with the choice but I couldn't put my finger on it. So I went and looked at all 4 pups again, and I saw this guy: Boy 3: I remember the very first litter photo the breeder sent me when they were a few days old. There was a little pup at the very front left that I had my eyes set on, and I just realised this boy IS HIM. I think i'm pretty much fallen for this one now, the decision feels right to me. I'm super happy how things have worked out, I even found out this was her choice for best show dog aswell! I think I was too quick to eliminate him the first time based on his stack compared to Boy 2. WE'RE GETTING BOY 3. :D

I've had about 8 opinions now and all have said #2, so I guess that means something! I do love his face so much more. I will let the breeder know our pick, hopefully he's still there.

Was sent photos of 4 boys to pick from today, these are the ones being sold for show. I've already cut out two, but now can't decide between the last! Love to hear your thoughts! Boy 1: Boy 2:

Will be getting my first ever dog very soon, a German Shorthaired Pointer from Heiderst kennels. The time has actually flown by SO quickly, it seems it was just last week that we were talking to the breeder and putting down a deposit when the pups weren't even born yet, now its only a week and a bit until he arrives! I'm a little anxious and overwhelmed actually, being my first dog and all the knowledge that requires, plus then having to find out how shows run, kennel memberships etc ( I will be showing him ) I'm sure all that will fly out the window when I see him though. Still haven't picked a *specific* puppy, no doubt the breeder will be sending photos soon and hopefully I can pick out a lovely male then, I have the name Eastwood or Grissom in mind.

Just wondering how long it usually takes to process a new member application for the CCCQ, thanks.

Getting my first ever show dog (well first ever dog too) in early Febuary. Can't wait, i'm super excited.
