I have spoken to our vet and they are confident all is okay. We worked on type of chocolate, weight and age of dog and amount of chocolate. Still vigilant in watching for any symptoms.

My dog just ate about 400gm cadbury chocolate. Should I be worried?

I too made the mistake of thinking my angelic little pup would sleep beautifully on the couch when I went out for 1 ( yes that's one!) hour. See for yourselves He is no known as the white terror. That is 8 kg of kitty litter. It only took 5 hours to clean up. Needless to say, we have now crate trained and he happily goes in with a couple of treats.

thanks guys

Hi there, We have an 8 month old boxer who still wakes at about 4AM to go to the toilet. He has a poo and a wee then. If for some reason I don''t hear him as soon as he heads downstairs ( he sleeps on his bed in our room) he will go on the floor at the door. There is no option of a doggy door. I am wondering if I fed him his evening meal earlier, right now he gets it about 7pm, would he be likely to need to poo earlier? I do have a crate which we sometimes use during the day. I was also wondering if he slept in his crate would he have to hold on more? I am hoping to sleep a little later than 4am soon!! Thanks

That last photo of Bob is gorgeous. Makes me want to do my puppy? Anyone have any idea of cost?

So poodlefan, if my trainer suggested a halti for my boxer are you saying that I should be taught another method? The stopping and turning seems popular!

Glad to see you posting Jed! Can't wait to have you back on the boxer thread! -
We adopted a golen retriever when she was three years old from a family that was transferred overseas. I had a six month old, 2, 4 and 6 year old at the time. From the day she arrived she loved the kids. ( she had been brought up with kids). My little on learned to stand up holding onto our dog, always supervised of course. I haven't seen a goldie that wasn't the most loving dog. I wouldn't choose a german shepherd over one anyday. Here is a photo of our goldie when she was quite old. Over night a baby possum fell out of a tree and attached itself to our dog. She didn't try to do anything to it, she just kept it on her back until we got up in the morning. That's the temperment you want when you have young children!

Glad to see you looking so well Jed!! -
I looked at boxers a few months back and I couldn't find anything close to $700. We were looking between $1200 and $1500.

I always check in and relight a candle for Jed. Glad to hear she is starting to heal. -
I also use a big piece of polar fleece that we source from vinnies. Folded over a few times, it is really fluffly.

I too check in a few times a day. Glad the puppies are doing well. Let's hope you are healing Jane. Keeping our candle lit for you. -
Thanks Mita We are doing obedience training already. He does have a spot in the living room that he loves. I will definitely try the clothes with the smell on them. He has some soft toys but i will try rubbing them to give them my smell. What do you suggest? Maybe go out for 10 minutes to start and then increase? During the week that you worked on this did your room get trashed? I'm a bit worried about my living room! This is what he did the last time! By the way that is two 4kg bags of cat litter.

That is what I was sort of thinking. Definitely wouldn't leave him for long first few times. It' nice to be loved but this is a little rediculous!! :D

Hey guys! We have a six month old pup who is great when he is with you.....not so good alone. I need some advice. He can now jump our fences, so must try to keep him inside when I go out. I will look at possibly a dog run but don't really have an ideal space. I put him in a bathroom today for just over an hour. He chewed the architraves around the door, he had thrown up his breakfast and had trashed his bed. I put him in there with his bed, a pigs ear, some toys and water. He is a delight when he has company so I'm thinking maybe a crate? Any advice?

is there another link back to the candles? can't find it....sorry -
Having just got a puppy recently I find this interesting. I did research the breed ( and many others) to find what I felt was best suited to our family. Our last dog we got at three years old from a family that had been transferred overseas. My point is I had NO idea the price of a pup and was quite taken aback when I heard. I am not questioning what anyone charges. That is their own business but alot of people out there live in a world where they need to know whether they can afford the item they are looking for whether it be a car, a couch or a pet. There was one breed of dog that we looked at and were quite interested in. My kids spent time researching etc. When we found out they were $3500 that was it for that breed. If we had seen that info first we would have saved alot of time. I think that even an indication of approximate cost would be helpful. There are wonderful people out there that would do anything for their pets, but can't afford $3500 just to purchase a pup. I think the point is the more info on the website, the less time you would spend answering emails that could be irrelevant.
