So pleased to have a positive update on Chase. The Vet nurses in Melbourne could only say what they thought at the time and also it is much better to be aware the outcome may not be good rather than belive Chase would be okay and then have a sudden decline in his condition. I wouldn't be too worried about Chase being bored he will need his rest to have strength to recover and then have energy to bounce on you when you visit. Hope we get more positive news tomorrow

Get Well soon Chase. Horrible for Chase and you to go through this at least now you know what the problem is and how to treat it, while Chase is positive he has a very good chance of getting better. Sleep well tonight.

Thinking of you and hope Chase makes it through his surgery and makes a good recovery

Thanks for sharing such a good news story. Hope they all get wonderful forever homes. -
Glad Barney is home and felt well enough to let you know he didn't like his new look . I am sure he really is very pleased you went ahead with his op especially as eating will be much easier for him now. Gentle hugs and pats for Barney.

Darcy had a small cut/bite mark on his leg that got infected. He had xrays and antibiotics etc and they wouldn't cover it. I was living with OH's parents at the time and the bite was caused by one of their dogs. So it was determined that since it happened at home, amongst dogs that live together, it was apparently our fault and they wouldn't cover it. To some extent they are right but I found out that they don't actually cover anything if they can claim it is caused by a person, so in other words if Darcy were in a fight with any other dog it would be considered the owners fault and we would be expected to get compensation from them. If he got hit by a car it would be my fault because he wasn't contained. So basically any injury that can be attributed to human error is not covered. So pretty much everything, is not covered. So I figured it was a waste of money. I was paying $42 per month. Wow, that's rough! Thanks. I would never have considered that accidents wouldn't be covered. I've had Petplan for Sparkles and my cat for years and claimed for accidents and never had a claim rejected. I don't have any problems with Petplan and went to them when the previous company I was with AFS PetMed put numerous exclusions on the policy for Sparkles all the exclusions were claims I had made for my previous Dane this was a new policy and they wouldn't remove the exclusions.

Go to the park and look around you will probably find it is a rather immobile elderly person who sits at their window watching you and your Dane have fun. They probably got their family or home help to put the box on your doorstep. I think it is a lovely thought by the giver and yes you need to be cautious with some people, I wnat to be positive and think is someone who you make their day everyday you walk your dog and they can watch you.

Sorry I'm on the Central coast not far from Newcastle but the dirty four letter word work won't let me meet you. Have a good time traveling around won't you.

Hope Yogi has a speedy recovery with no infections. Thinking of you too.

to you and Bernard. May I suggest you get photos of Bernards leg next time you change the bandage and perhaps get a report from your vet before too much time passes and details are forgotten. Hope you find this woman and her dog.

Give Your Dog A Cuddle Today
cointreau replied to Miss BeRidgierent's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thinking of you and have given both dog and cat big cuddles. -
In the end I gave up. I have put a pond in the garden where my girl dug a big hole previously. There are certain areas I will allow digging but sometimes Sparkles will dig where she likes. Often she digs if I am talking to someone and she wants attention so I try to ignore her. If she wants to dig and I am out in the garden and need a hole dug I get Sparkles to dig there for me saves me lots fo work and energy. Sorry you are so frustrated with your digging girl, like I said I gave up and now I just enjoy watching her have fun and looking filthy dirty when she has dug in the wet dark dirt.

I used DAP when my Dane jumped all over me when I returned from work, the DAP worked well and with behaviour such as ignoring my girl on my return I don't have any problems leaving her now. Never get complaints from my neighbours about her barking either and she is able to get ouside while I am at work. Can't say anything about Bach remedies I've never used them.

Why on earth not? It's their investment so ofcourse they can do whatever they want with it, even if they're stupid enough to have a 4-5 bedroom house an an investment property and exclude families, however I do feel for people trying to rent in this tough market. Sure it is the investors property but to put restrictions on it so it remains empty is unfair and selfish in my opinion, yes the idea is to negatively gear the property but not to that extent and I have seen a number of rentals empty in the past because of restrictions put on potential tenants. If I ever get an investment property it will be pet friendly provided certain criteria is met by the applicant, that is no more or less than with any application for a rental property.
