  1. What does Co-ownership mean? Did you know when you purchased?? ETA,What's the deal, some kind of contract as to what you can't do etc? Papers in ex-owners name & yourself ?
  2. Is it all under control now? Persies advice is correct. Did your vet advise you? I have heard there is an injection??? Home wise about all you can do is wrap her or pad her down in hot wet towels to ease her pain and try prevent milk fever .Keep the hot towels on her as long as you can. Sh-t always happens at 2-3 weeks .....oh no never at 4-5 weeks when it would have been less stress feeding the babies. What did you end up doing?
  3. Here are your guardian Angels ;) God heard our prayers
  4. That is a good practise to have in place. With-out being too paranoid about this I've been told we can carry what-ever on our clothes too.....imagine Asal out the front of your home changing your clothes for all the neighbours to see in the freezing cold & rain ....what is that mad woman doing now!?? he he.......Oh I'm just taking off my street clothes and putting on my house clothes.....they'd lock you up!!! Wish there was less confusion re vaccs. though
  5. Yes,I hear you & understand, all you can do is not take unnecessary risks. Some-thing rather odd about your vet & vaccs. This year I had fogotten one of mine to get her 2nd C4,because it was a 2 month lapse, not one month, I then had to have another one...C4,it is because the immunity is null & void after 4 weeks, then the final one C5 a month after this. I was quite surprised that I had to do this, that won't happen again, until this happened I assumed be it 1 month,6 weeks-2 months it wouldn't matter,so this means she has had 4 vaccs for the year. I like them to be protected but I don't like over dosing them . I'd be double checking re 8 weeks between vaccs, you need to know.
  6. I know exactly what you mean.My lot put me through the wringer too,on occasions, turn their nose up at Rump steak or chicken! Gees she sure sits you out .....9 days. Must have a real stubborn attitude Try cooking her some Liver & mix it with mince or canned ....... what-ever you think she likes best. Have you tried Sardines alone or mix with what-ever.......tried boiled eggs? They drive you around the bend when they carry on like this,some-times if one won't eat the others follow suit grrrrr Mine get over it but they sure push all my buttons when this is going on. Have you any Nurtigel or similar on hand ? is there some-thing others may know about to stimulate her appetite. What about veges with the chicken & mince cooked up with rice & pasta? No teeth problems.....? A nice meaty fresh bone?
  7. I started mine on it full time after reading all about it on this Forum.I had no idea what BARF meant until then.I give raw mince, roo, chicken etc.at 5-6 weeks, start out at 3-4 weeks on Pedigree puppy,as soon as they get the taste of raw they won't touch the canned.Have I noticed the difference in litters, apart from a very shiney coat.... I haven't, but to see them enjoy it so much it has been all worth the extra time it some-times takes to prepare.None of mine like the prepared BARF.It's rewarding to know (barf) it is so beneficial to them & they are all so contented. This has continued with the last few new owners as well,so we are all getting on the band waggon Education is the key,I tell every-one I can & try and convince them, those that care really look into it & change. The bones also give them some-thing to do as well as enjoy.
  8. I would think this very risky,I wouldn't do it,hell what other stray dogs walk etc on this ground when school is not held?????? & what they may be carrying & leave to infect your puppy, you could pick parvo up on your shoes, omg it only takes one dog to infect yours.I've been advised by my vet that "they" are not fully protected immediately either,I'd wait a week later.....heh what's a couple of weeks to be safe & sure.Others have advised re vaccs.
  9. How about pointless rants like yours? ;) :D
  10. That is absolutely no excuse........pathetic,on behalf of that breeder. Like i said a REGISTED breeder arnt allowed to let there pups go before 8 weeks of age... My guys were 1 day shy of 8 weeks i had ppl wanting to take them.. Simple answer NO They are not 8 weeks of age... If she got all your details papers should take couple weeks I could be wrong but I seem to remember that age for pups leaving for their new homes could be slightly different in each state CC. We were looking at our National Code of ethics and one state had put up that pups couldn't leave breeders until 7 weeks where other states said it was 8 weeks. Like I said I could be wrong, it was a while ago and I only just remember there was an issue with the different CC being slightly different Cheers Lee QLD CCC code of ethics.....not one not 2 days before 8 weeks.Exporting 11 weeks. U.K.pups do not leave home before 12 weeks same should apply here imho. ETA,pathetic excuse on behalf of this breeder imho
  11. Yes,I weigh them always,Drontal is over the top with price so have switched to Troy.....Troy has fingers in a few pies...ha ha ha ! What does ETA stand for...see it often?
  12. Very interesting.Only problem would be how would the small breeds get on with tabs as pups are wormed as of 2-4-6-8 weeks of age. Most likely manage at 4 weeks on.
  13. It is contagious too, most susectable up to 12 weeks of age.I always give my puppies a dose of Baycox for their own protection when leaving home at 12 weeks of age,as Jed has said it seems to come out with stress, this puppy would have been under stress, leaving home, flying, new owners & surroundings all in one day and only 8 weeks old, just not fair :p .......that's a whole new thread! Glad it was a happy ending.
  14. IMO (as the owner of a Husky) this sort of attack wouldn't have happened if the owners of the dogs were responsible owners who knew what sort of care a Husky requires. While our Husky is prey driven and will catch birds if you let her, if the fence fell down on our side and she was able to get into my neighbour's yard (who has a Maltese) she would NEVER hurt Casey at all. Yes, Huskies are prey driven, but no, not all Huskies are like this. In fact, I would say that the owner is probably the sort of person who tells his dogs to "git 'em!" every time they're faced with another dog, and if that's the case, who can blame them for turning out like this. Yes,ferel owners ferel dogs, same goes with the human race.
  15. Once again friggin iresponsible owners.Had no idea Huskies were like this, hope the fence never falls down next to me where 2 reside. I wonder if someone perhaps from some rescue could give this poor soul a small white dog that is older? Not now but soon....time to grieve atm for Hamish.
  16. OMG that is a lot of kilometres, very surprising too he certainly earns his keep,I want to send one of mine to him, perhaps I should also go,just for a few months.
  17. Poor Gail, wonder it had the strength to walk, tears of joy and other because of her condition.Gail must have had a huge will to live. For once thank goodness for a neighbour, would have thought owners would have searched such areas......u know no stone unturned if that were me..........bet she is still eating
  18. No not ever, ridiculous idea, for all the above reasons stated,I did it once but didn't know until they arrived. I had one 2 weeks ago, thought after 1-1/2 hours they'd never leave, paid a deposit and then emailed me & phoned 6 times in the one day to say they would like to come every day.So the pups are not ready for another 4 weeks= 12 weeks,I said this is not normal nor is it acceptable, not only for all the reasons stated but to find that much time every day for a stranger,I have found that you have to set the terms & boundaries or there are those like this one that will certainly try to take over your life.If they are offended so be it,I would gladly have returned the dep.I was not for all the right reasons have copped this.Mine never leave before 12 weeks, they need to be longer with their Mums & litter mates, buyers have them for the rest of their lives....we can only wish & hope!
  19. I have just rang the Zoo,because nothing mentioned on the news.I spoke to some-one who said the little male one was killed(autopsy done)& tossed in to the yard he was found in.This lady said that he would have put up a good fight, probably poor little beggars down-fall.I asked about security & was told there are double locks & double yards & that these "theives" came well prepared. The news & police are over there looking as I speak as there was a sighting either early today or last night of the little female one in the area close to the Zoo,apparently it is in a new estate,so if any-one else wants to help find her, should they live near by the Zoo, No is 3204.6566,I wish it would stop raining to help efforts to find her. Good on you bridie. I hope they find her safe and sound. What is it with people who would do this? Have they no clues about extinction and the reason there is a breeding program? It's so tragic about the little male. I found it hard to sleep the other night just thinking about it. This has the media coverage it deserves at last. Whoever tried to thieve them would have bite marks,he really sunk his teeth in & scratches,so there are others who know who this is........people like this are not worth protecting, just mongrels.
  20. Thanks I was wondering if perhaps I was wasting my time, and then thought, even if I am, I've tried. I will let everyone know when I get a response. I look at all the wonderful rescues the dolers do on here and it restores my faith that there are people that care. P.S. Thanks Cody - even though I didn't know for this time, useful to know for future, even for my furkids. I didn't realise there were any nearby vets open till that late! Heh Kirsty, Have just read this thread, mate welcome to Australia so there are some good Poms over here. You did more than most would have done, you were let down by those that should have helped you and this poor dog, responses were pathetic....be it excuses, true or lies. Have you seen this dog since? not that you'd want to go though all this again. Thanks for caring.
