Wasnt going to ask them about my entry ..... for another number for the club
-
Does anyone have the details for the club .... have tried calling the show sec .... but she is in sydney guessing at the royal ... have searched high and low for another contact but cant find one other then the person who is away ....... or do I call dogs vic to request someone who can tell me if I am entered as my numbers didnt arrive ..... very frustrating .....
-
This is unfortunatly true they are cracking down on the number of dogs on poperties ..... if by chance they look over and see more then permited then yes they can take the unregistered dogs ..... and also the ones over legally allowed ... the new laws if passed will impact rescues as well as to have over two dogs you need a permit for the idervidual dogs .... also if your a registered rescue / breeder under the council then you must comply to their rules which are unrealistic in suburbia beyond three / four if you still want a yard on most suburban block sizes ......i will ty to find the link tomorrow ... or look up the dpi vic you will find something on there Sorry for spelling i am on my phone ... stupis small buttons :/

if you can give me a call which i have pm'ed you i may be able to help !!!!!! edited to say i have emailed you instead as you messages are full :) -
he needs to be registered every yr they can seize a dog for not being registered if he is desexed and microchipped the most you should pay is around $40 (prob less) a yr small price to pay for your dog to be safe if he is found wandering without it there are fines and it is also against the law to walk them without their rego tags on you can cop fines for it as well, if you get them on a bad day :) me personally i prefer the piece of mind and yes i do get pulled up by rangers even with my amstaffs and they check
-
in my opinion he would fit into the new laws in victoria, i hope he is registered with council, as i would hate to see another much loved pet seized, what you have to remember is it is all done via a standard that the dpi and gov set and only my opinion but he would fit alot of the criteria to be classed as a restricted breed,

Where To Buy Dog Muzzle?
perryamstaffs replied to Remarkabull's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
at least your honest i have been their with my old boy who i lost years ago all i can say is try to find someone to help you with the aggression it can be dulled down you might want to pay for someone to help or find a club who will work with you, trust me when i say it will improve your walks and teach you not to be on guard which can aggrevate the situation as well, i found that when i started to relax so did he and didnt react to medium to large dogs so much and we enjoyed our walks more , but small fluffies he never stopped trying to chase but i knew just to turn around and sit or drop him and get focus and let them pass, but you still cant stop all the idiots with dogs off leads in areas they shouldn't be, -
thank you to all of you the reason i asked as my dog will drop in a sit stay (lazy kid syndrome ) if i tell to stay but if i use sit i have no problem it is soooo hard to find the rules on the net i looked for hrs so thankyou again
-
in stays can you use the command "SIT" when leaving your dog for a sit stay instead of telling it to "STAY" for competing in trials or do you have to say "STAY" thanks in advance for the info

i remember years ago i was at a dog club in canberra for my new pup at the time their was a pure breed red nose pitty he had just completed his final obedience trials for ud and won the trial in his class he magnificent to watch they are great working dogs and will please their owners to the end of the earth if they are brought up with training and socialisation with other animals the person gave me some great advise on training at the time which i will never forget, it doesn't matter the breed it is the time you put into training and socialisation that matters was one of the things he told me, anyway back to the question when i was living in canberra 5yrs ago pitbulls were very popular in my area (belconnen) it is just a shame that sooo many of they beautiful dogs i knew had bad owners they were still beautiful dogs and friendly but were not walked enough they just go in the car with them everywhere cause they "look big and tough" i really hate people who get dogs for looks which is why unfortunatly why most people get pitbulls cause they look tough and they think people will not hurt them if they have this dog, little do they know that people who know these dogs know how much of a sook they can be and wont bite you. ;)

This is my little girl Allie (AKA Pals) she lost her battle tonight with cancer run free with your friends pals, you have changed sooo many hearts toward this breed have visited to many schools either with me to show kids how to approch dogs and interact with you and your four legged friends (and without you little vixen) you loved kids with all your heart even when my brothers son dragged you with your front feet on your back across the lawn you just wagged your tail as if to say i dont care i am getting attention, you also enjoyed your recent time in the oldied home down the road and got to spend some quiet time while i was at work as the nurses loved you, when i walked passed and asked after your health when they knew you were sick they didnt want you at home alone so you got a heater and pats all day long in the office even though they shouldnt have had you there you even did a few rounds in a wheelchair cause you could walk too far and got more cuddles from the oldies, even on the days you couldn't go you had friends drop in to see you to make sure you were comfy, how you have touched soo many people i dont know but i am proud With all the hearts she has stolen toward this breed and the good she has done as an advocate i thought people should know how she has shown the world how great this breed can be. I have received well over 40 messeges from people within 2hrs of having to say my final goodbyes to my girl this is how she has touched people sad news but also great to see how she is loved in the world. R.I.P my pals Amstaff - Aust CH Yankstaff Deep Impact 22/09/2000 - 20/07/2010 you have done me and you breed very proud i will never have another like you

also place the kennel facing the door it took me two months to relise they just wanted to see when i was home i thought they hated the kennel but they just couldn't see the best coats i have found lately at resonable price is carribu (for medium dog $25 plus postage $12 in shop for same quality $89-$120) they actually make horse rugs which i used to get but have finally ventured into dog coats made the same way with pleats for front legs for ease of movement, geeze i should get free one for all the advertising but i has taken me a long time to be happy for resonable cost, mine even train in them when it is raining and cold and cause they are amstaffs need to be strong as well here is the link http://www.caribuhorsewear.com.au/dog-coats-c-258.html have just had another look and they are selling fast for this season

for the last month i have been struggling with my 10yr old girl not eating after numerous vet visits and no answers i finally got two vets involved last night they saw that my girl was not her usual happy girl saying hi to all the other dogs (even when they are trying to kill her) and trying to chase the practice cat (if only they had listened two weeks ago) the took some blood and told me to wait for results (never have i been ask to not leave and wait) so i knew they were concerned, they admitted her for fluids as she was dehydrated and also diagnosed her with rare addisons disease this morning they rang me to say she hadn't improved and tey had already done an ultrasound if life couldnt kick me enough she had a mass, they did the operation to investigate and found a mass the size of a rockmelon, well you could have heard me in the us screaming abuse down the phone as to why they hadn't pick this up on the last 7 visits this month, which i had to later appoligise for because i hadn't noticed till yesterday how big her guts were and weight lost over two weeks till a friend told me she looked bloated i am gutted, the vet is sending the mass for testing at their own cost to investigate the mass because they beleive it is the most aggressive fast growing cancer they have seen (i believe she is just a big tough nut which dosent show pain she just keeps on going living life) i dont want the results because it wont change a damn thing but they believe that is has tripled in size in two weeks which is why everyone missed the lump, well anyway the reason i am writing this is to tell people if your are unsure take the dog to the vet if they dont listen to you MAKE THEM i will never know if i had pushed two weeks ago for further tests against the vets recommendation as they said she was being old and fussy i would have my girl for alot longer than the possiable month i have left with my girl till i have to give her wings due to quality of life for her (trust me i would keep her going if i though i had a chance)

How Young Can You Start Competing?

i know he wont break he only has eyes for me, he even looks like a freak walking along looking at my face 99% (1% of the time he is getting a treat) of the time it gives him this stupid little bounce because he is knee height and a chunky boy at 30kg, recall he is fine with although he comes too close he sticks his nose right in between my legs (soo embarrasing cause it looks like he is doing something he shouldn't LOL even if it is for a second he def can not get any closer trying to get him to come close without the nose dive it is the only thing i have to get him out of) like it is a stopping point for a second my fault cause i trained him to do this to get him to come in close with treats and sits looks up into my face to say i am here mum , stays he just looks at me even when others break and start sniffing or putting a paw on him to play he just looks at me but his eye expression changes like he is having a mental issue with staying cause he was told to and wanting to play cause he is a puppy but i always win out -
How Young Can You Start Competing?

how young is too young to start trialling i have a 8mth old and after going to look at a trial last weekend i think my boy is ready for the first level of competition is it bad manners to enter him for experience even if he dosent pass but i dont beleive this is an issue because even i forget how young he is (i have lucked it with this dog he is an angel to train and loves being taught new things my other kids took me 2yrs to train), i know i dont want to push him too fast so his next level will take a while, but i think it is me that needs the time not him LOL . i can see how people get addicted to this now after ten yrs of owning dogs i have finally decided to give something new a try and i am enjoying the quality time with just me and my furr kid, just wanted other peoples opinions is all.
