Foster Pup Rosalie - Now Willow!
KumaAkita replied to MavericksMission's topic in General Dog Discussion
 could spot that one a mile off! Congrats MM, Willow will have an awesome life with you and her new big brother Mav. She is adorable -
It's hard, eh?? I kept showing my husband all the different pictures and said "ooh, what about this?" his response was "that's nice..." I like the olive interior. Matches nicely with the pattern.

My week 2: 02/52 - Burning Bright by KumaAkita, on Flickr

So I've just sent in my order. I went with the picture I posted. MnDM, sorry I can't help on sizes! I have my eye on a Nikon d5100 with kit lens and a 50mm so I think the medium will be fine. I'll defer to the more experienced to answer your question! sorry Kirislin... I can't help that they are so purdy!

Ok, so I have been mulling it over and think that I might give this a crack too! God help me! My aim is to improve my photography skills along the way. I won't be sticking to a particular theme, it will simply be a different photo each week. So to play catch-up, this is my week 1: 01/52 - Reflection by KumaAkita, on Flickr The set is here: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjy269dV I will get cracking on week 2 and have it up by the end of the week!

Ok, so I'm about to cave in and buy a porteen bag... this forum is evil. Evil I tells ya! I've narrowed down my choices, inspired by this one: Just going to think on it for a day or so to make sure I'm 100% happy

Some awesome photos already... the competition will be stiff! Hopefully this will push my creative skills up a level. I'm also rehoming my little current micro four-thirds camera in the next few days and will be upgrading to a Nikon D5100 in February (being paid monthly sucks!). I'm also going to do a photography course at the local TAFE, which will hopefully help! I aim to get out of auto by the end of the year. Ok. If You Were Choosing A Breed On Looks Alone...
KumaAkita replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
1. Akita - naturally. Goes without saying. They are THE most awesomest dogs ever. ...and in no particular order... 2. West Highland White Terrier 3. Samoyed 4. Finnish Lapphund 5. Alaskan Malamute -
Kuma isn't coping with the heat this year at all. He's not worked out that he should dump some more coat! At the moment he's stretched out on the cool tiles under the AC vents. He's strategically placed himself at the point where two A/C vents intersect - we call it The Axis of Cool. Don't know what he'll do when Mr KumaAkita goes back to work next week and he's relegated to the back yard. I'm sure he'll find a cool spot.

Thanks All Helen - it's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G10with the kit lens (14-42mm. Thinking about $250/$300 for it. Mrs RB - thanks for the linky. I'll have a hunt around. Persephone - Just picking the minds of some very experienced DOLers here, their collective wisdom can save hours of futile internet research.

I'm considering selling my Panasonic G10 micro four-thirds camera. Are there specific websites that specialise in selling camera gear or is eBay the best avenue?

I am going to try this again. I bombed out so badly last year!! So...put me down. KumaAkita with Kuma the Akita! Will come back and edit my Flickr link when I can get back onto the Mac, the iPad isn't so friendly with that.

some very cute photos here! Here's Kuma, around 6 weeks old. Taken by his breeder: His first day home with us at 8 weeks old: His first Birthday. November, 2010 Christmast 2011. Kuma, the Reindeer Akita! by shibburd, on Flickr

Awesome, thanks Lab_Rat!

Thanks everyone! His course of ABs finishes in about 3 days, so might give him a few days then start adding yoghurt more regularly if he needs it. Cheers!
-
Kuma had a few skin issues and a dermo vet put him on 1000mg Cephalexin twice a day, he's been on them for nearly 2 months and we're just about to finish them. Should I be adding a pro-biotic to his diet to balance out the anti-biotics? I've been adding yoghurt to his diet regularly, as well as a yakult here or there if I remember. Any other tips?

Roughly How Much Does Kennelling Cost Per Day?
KumaAkita replied to Simply Grand's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just checked the website of the kennel Kuma stayed in for a few weeks. For small dogs, they charge $17 - $20/day depending on time (school hols or not) then they add extras on, like additional treats, washing, training... I'd say wrap it up to $20/day and you'd be covered.
