  1. We have a great pet meat supplier that we use, and had been feeding a roo and chicken mix, but at the moment Roo is hard to get in S.A. and is almost as expensive as the beef..Ours eat a mix of 50% pet beef and 50% hormone free chicken mince, together with vegies, pasta and the odd thing that is left over in our kitchen. These days most good quality dry foods will provide all the vits and mins that a dog needs, although a couple of ours are a tad on the "hyper" side and they get sprinkle of FERAMO multi vitamin on their dinner... Gee...when I look at it like this...Dogs here are eating better and healthier than human residents LOL
  2. I think we are all guilty of pampering new mums.!! there has been many a nite when we have had toasted sandwiches for tea, while I was roasting a chook for welping bitch! Some bitches do go off their tucker for a bit, The product Nutrigel is a great pick me up, but if you cant get it..good old VEGIMITE works wonders! Make it up like a broth..about a teaspoon of it to a cup of water and put over their dinner. Its a great source of all the vits and mins, and most dogs love it.. Probably still puts a rose in every cheek on dogs as well as kids!! Julia
  3. Hi, I have had the misfortune of having to hand raise a litter of 9, then a litter of 7 greyhound babies from birth, after their mother became very ill on both occasions. I really think that divetalac is one of the better products, but I alway put a half teaspoon of YOGHURT into the feed. Make sure it is the natural, live culture, and not an artificial one. good luck with your babies Julia Brown
