  1. i am looking forward to all the stories and despite me wanting a chi pup, i just don't have the room --- one day, i swear, one day! i love the photos; just absolutely adorable
  2. i feed bones daily too but what was it that turned you off greenies?
  3. nadz, my two adore greenies [the ones that look like little toothbrushes and are a bit bendy]. i use the smallest size [petite i think] but because they both like to bury, i cut them up into 6 pieces, give them two pieces each night after their dinner and it is such a treat watching them chew these wee bits if they've moved off their mat, and i rattle the container i keep these pieces in, they both immediately become alert and step onto the mat waiting expectantly for their yummy chewies :D as i said, they both bury and they both find a full one [of the smallest size] too much to handle, thus i cut them up i hope that helps!
  4. I agree. Sometimes a name pops into your head when you know you are going to pick up a dog, but generally it is good to wait and see. But just for fun . . . . . Pepper is a spice Tango is a dance Rumba is a spicy dance - LOL. LOL MM - I hang out on a forum full of dance-sport enthusiasts (I am not a dancer tho) so they would love that!!! They were partly responsible for Tangos name as it was one in a list I gave them and they voted for it. i agree spotty that scruffy just wouldn't fly on a dally no siree NUP but OMG moocher, i read rumba at the precise moment i was thinking rambo [because he sounds rambunctious]!!! rumba is a brilliant name AND rumba by balenciaga is my allllll time absolute favourite perfume too AND it makes bahluddy good sense given the names of the other two i wanna puppy too *pouts*
  5. i feel useless right along side you and i'm not even in the same state as you!!! i've been anxiously reading both the threads about this dog and my tummy's almost in knots thinking that it'll be saturday before anything can happen!!! i am so very grateful for you and the peeps like you for going to such lengths to save this beautiful lost soul... *handoverheart*
  6. i'm excited for you props for making this lil guy's life worth living --- with playmates to boot and curiously, i think this lil pup might be just the thing for tango
  7. another argument for mandatory sterilisation... prick
  8. robbi, i see you! is everything okay? i really really really really hope yogi had a comfy time overnight... and that you too are okay
  9. i'm sooo happy to hear that from you illaroo good luck --- only good things now, for you and the pup! and great news about his siblings; excellent job all round
  10. absolutely beautiful shots *applauds* what an album you must have!
  11. my two even after all this time still have a tuff time eating dr b's prepared barf [supplemented with chunks of chicken/turkey neck and some mashed up veg] and it's only been in the past week YUP, as recently as that, that i decided to crushed up a small amount of their treats and sprinkle it over the top --- BINGO :D bella didn't have such a difficult time but byron was a shocker! getting him to the bowl to eat was no mean feat but as soon as he got a wiff of his yummy treats, TADAAAAAA just a thought good luck
  12. k, sorry if i came across a bit strong there --- didn't mean to sound so frantic
  13. illaroo, i completely understand where you're coming from BUT even if you are unsure yourself as to how to effectively help this pup, the longer it resides in its current environment will only prolong its likely discomfort --- you, at least, have the pup's best interests in mind! the longer it stays where it is the harder it will be for the pup to recover... cross those other bridges when and if you ever need later... good luck and props to you for showing the initiative
  14. i've heard too that you may see a fox or two in some parts of sydney; god forbid there'd be another 12! good luck chicken --- i hope you can get this pest issue resolved before there's any heartache and or blood loss! oh *giggles* just an observation --- i couldn't help but laugh when i was reading thru the threads and to then see a thread by chicken about there being a fox in my yard hahahahahahahahaha sorry...
  15. THAT is an absolutely fabulous story from beginning to end... thanks spottychick
  16. thanks anne, yes, i mean the human kind I'd say she simply hiccuped. As Jaxx has said, it is quite a distinctive sound when they reverse sneeze. I t can be very alarming for people to witness if they don't understand it. It is quite harmless though in 99% of cases and it is a very common thing. yes, and thank you soooo very much for helping to educate me also
  17. thanks jb --- i'll take a look at this when i'm home and thank you soooo much for going to that length to help me understand
  18. both my two hiccup [bella moreso] and both make the sound!!! it is easily dealt with tho, thankfully
  19. no, i'm convinced that bella hiccup'd [as in human type] --- there most certainly is no other sound that i heard...
  20. curiously bella did a couple hiccups with her mouth open last night!!! normally when she hiccups her mouth is closed and the effect is in her chest/belly region [which i manage to settle just by giving a short but firm tummy rub or a firm pat on her back]... but last night, with her mouth open it sounded quite different and odd and there were only about 4 or 5 'hiccups' and the whole episode lasted only in total about 3 seconds! OH had her focus prior to this event and i think because of that the episode was over quickly! could this be something like what you guys are talking about!?? or did bel merely hiccup with her mouth open do ya reckon!??! i'm really just trying to understand this condition so i'm informed, even if it never happens i won't be so alarmed if it does... thanks for indulging me
  21. its sort of like a cough/sneeze where the dog sucks the air in not cough or sneeze it out. it sometimes sounds like they are clearing their throat. sorry its hard to explain. hey thanks for that! my two seem to do all the usual things [for them at least] including the odd gag, sneeze, snuffle with a cough here and there, but nothing like what's described here, which i reckon would be a little scary to me... i agree, it would be hard to explain
