Victorian Labor Opposition Move For A Parliamentary Review Of Bsl
dezzyno.1 replied to BlackJaq's topic in In The News
keeping fingers crossed that the government comes to it senses and sees that Bill Bruce is right....there is a better way than what is in place now -
This is a photo of our gorgeous boy Amerykus God ov War aka Dezzy with a lady who he visits weekly on his Delta Therapy Dog duties.....her name is Antionette and is french and has no family here in Australia....she is in a dementia nursing home but remembers Dezzy and really looks forward to his weekly visits....Antionette takes the crust off her toast in the mornings and feeds it to him....Dezzy is getting an A4 size photo printed of the one posted here and put in a frame for her room....does everyone think that she will like this photo to have in her room???

When we got our boy Dezzy we had only had him for one week and he was on the couch then all of a sudden he got up and went to our sons bedroom door and barked.....not knowing what was going on we told him to be quiet but he just kept on barking....I got up and went into my sons room and my son Jordan was having a seizure and Dezzy went into the room and licked his face and once he was satisfied he was okay went back down to the loungeroom and went back to the couch.....Dezzy did not really know us but alerted us to him having the seizure and he has alerted us every time he has a seizure....Dezzy also visits nursing homes and in one nursing home every time we saw this man he would lick his foot in a certain place and after doing this three times the man informed me that he went to the doctors and yes he had a problem there....some animals are amazing in doing these sorts of things and alerting us to problems but then again I have two girls and they couldn't care less....I suppose some of them have it and some don't

thanks Mal1 I would hate to see the dog destroyed because of its owners stupidity :) -
Reporting Dogs To The Authorities

You did the right thing, the whole stance of the dog tells you it's going to bite sooner or later. I wouldn't want a dog destroyed either, but your neighbours did need a wake up call before something awful happened. Funny you saw them walking the dog afterwards, the dogs that attacked me and my dog are now taken for walks on leashes, instead of being "let out for a run". thanks for that Alison03 I feel awful but I couldn't stand by and let it bite a child or someone walking past....I am glad that your "attackers" are now also under control :) -
Reporting Dogs To The Authorities
dezzyno.1 replied to Agility Dogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have just had an incident where we had to report a neighbours dog....I hated doing it but the dog would wander out as they left their gates open and I went to let the people know their dogs were out and I got to my letterbox and the dog ran to the middle of the road and stood there with its tail high in the air and its hackles up barking at me.....it also did the same to my husband about a month later....we have lots of children running and riding their bikes past the house and it was an accident waiting to happen.....we also had one of our dogs at the vets for vaccinations and they turned up and was made to go out back and bring their dog out with a muzzle on (I think it was desexed....thank god)....the Inspectors wanted us to go and make a statement so that they could seize the dog but we did not want the dog to be destroyed we just wanted the people to take care and make sure their dog did not get out.....the Inspectors then issued the people with a notice that they must keep their gates shut at all times and they do drive bys to make sure this is happening.....I am glad these people have taken notice of this and I actually saw the owners take the dog for a walk on lead which was great to see -
bad luck about not passes but sounds like a good day was had...better luck next time :)
-
good luck Tassie....hope you get your passes in Track and Search....we are looking forward to T & S as I think out dogs will be better suited to it.....good luck and let us know how you do :)
-
congratulations RubyBlue it sounds like it was a great season for everyone

WOW what a season we have had....we had our last tracking trial on the weekend and our wonderful furkids did not let us down....Zforce Rock Ina Frock aka Pink gained her Tracking Dog Excellent Title with a grading of very good and Amerykus God ov War aka Dezzy (who I thought would not get his title this season) pulled out all the stops and gained his Tracking Champion title with a score of good and of course Zforce Sweet Surrender aka Jessie and Tamika pulled off their Tracking Champion title the trial before this one.....it has been a wonderful and tiring season and we are sad that it is over but look forward to the new season with 2 dogs going on to Track and Search and Jessie will be trained by my son Jordan and Pink will continue on to hopefully gain her Tracking Champion title and we are so proud of this little girl who only failed her Test 1 once due to mice being in the paddock has gone through without a fail to gain her TDX.....go the Amstaffs
-
well done Leanne and Grace and of course your beautiful furkids.....I too have had a successful season with in our family my daughter Tamika and her Amstaff Jessie obtained their Tracking Champion being the youngest handler in Australia at 13 years old and Jessie being the first Amstaff in Australia to obtain the title....I also obtained my Tracking Dog Excellent title with Pink and today obtained Tracking Champion with my dog Dezzy.....was a great season for everyone and you will be okay Leanne and gain your Tracking Champion next season (hope we find that kangaroo that took off with your glasses)

that is what Dogs Vic want people to see....children working with their dogs and as they said especially an Amstaff :)
-
thanks kathq and Ptolomy proud is not the word for it.....very very proud of what these two have acheived and the hard work that both of them put in :)
-
Tassie I have just been told that the story on Tamika and Jessie is going into the Dogs Vic magazine and will probably be in the November issue
-
My brag for 2013 is about my daughter Tamika and our gorgeous furkid Zforce Sweet Surrender aka Jessie....on 11th August, 2013 Tamika became at the age of 13 years old to be the youngest child in Australia to get her Tracking Champion title and Jessie is the first American Staffordshire Terrier in Australia to also obtain this title....I could not be happier with both of them achieving this wonderful title and all the hard work they have put in together to get it :)

Youngest Child Handler In Australia
dezzyno.1 replied to dezzyno.1's topic in General Dog Discussion
thanks Tassie....I have contacted WA....NSW....SA and Vic.....hope they get back to me as I am pretty sure Tamika is the youngest -
Hi there.....I was just wondering if I can get everyone wealth of knowledge from here to determine who the youngest child in Australia is that holds a Tracking Champion title My daughter I feel might be the youngest at this time but I want to confirm that this is correct Tamika is 13 years old and gained her Tracking Champion title on Sunday 11th August, 2013 Also we have a double with our gorgeous girl Zforce Sweet Surrender aka Jessie being the first American Staffordshire Terrier in Australia to gain the above title Looking forward to finding out if I am correct in saying that Tamika is the youngest child in Australia....I have searched myself but cannot find this information and think that the members here may be able to help me :D
-
I am sure once Dezzy realises T & S will be fun he will be okay with it but at the moment wants to just track I think.....good luck at your next trial hope all goes well :)
-
thanks Tassie.....I will go on to Track and Search but Tamika doesn't think she wants to so I will go there with Jessie as well  which means I will have to rotate the dogs when trialling :D
-
congratulations on your Test 1 pass Ness...off to a good start....Dezzy's lump is nothing nasty so he is now over his surgery as the stitches are out and he is back tracking training again on Saturday.....Pink passed her Test 5 with a Pass...she hunted, air scented and even had three cross overs due to a car parked on her track cutting down trees...lol but we persisted and got through The most exciting news is my daughter who is 13 years old gained her Tracking Champion title so now is the youngest handler in Australia to gain the Champion title together with our gorgeous girl Jessie who is also the first American Staffordshire Terrier in Australia...some great PR for our breed and hopefully Pink will gain her TDX at the next trial which will be the last for the season and Dezzy passes his Test 7 but I think we will be trying with Dezzy for his Test 7 next season  was a very successful trial for us and we are over the moon with Tamika and Jessie
-
congratulations Ness on your TD....as they always say in tracking it is always a good dog and bad handler
-
fantastic news Tassie....I wish Dezzy would see that Track and Search will be fun but he seems to want to stay tracking....this was his second attempt... ....good luck with Test 5...Dezzy has had his surery and lump came out easily and didn't look nasty but we are waiting for histology to come back which we should have it on Friday when Dezzy gets his stitches out....keeping fingers crossed :)
-
What a weekend for us all last weekend......Dezzy was going for his Test 7 but failed beautifully (I think he wants to keep tracking instead of going on to track and search) we will have to wait unti September to see if he decides to pass as he has had an operation to have a lump removed so will not be entered in the trial next weekend.....Tamika and Jessie went for their Test 6 and passed so now have their tracking dog excellent title and keeping fingers crossed for them next weekend as they go for their Test 7.....our little girl Pink also went for her Test 4 and passed with a very good....she is also entered next weekend for her Test 5.....we had a very successful weekend last weekend :)
