The title of the thread is that he tried to kill the dog, but the article says he threatened to kill the dog and injured it's leg restraining it. I bet the injuries the dog caused to the guy were more severe than the other way around.

I am considering doing volunteer work at the RSPCA. I'm hoping to get some experience before looking for part time paid work as either a vest assistant or something else of the sort (even working for the council at the local pound maybe). For those who have done this, was is rewarding? Did you gain many skills? How highly do you recommend it?

I applied for a dog last night. Not sure if I will get a response, I didn't get one last time Where it asked why I wanted to adopt a dog I just said, I'm a sucker for those eyes. I doubt I'll hear back even though I have 7ft fences and the dog would be indoors and I am home almost 24/7.

Oh that poor 12 year old boy traumatised for life because of someone's ignorance.

It is a bit suss.. sad that there are so many creeps around that have us thinking the worst when it may just be a genuinely nice gesture.

;) Who's in? I know a few of you are local to me.. Missy Moo, Kirty, Puggy... The dogs can play in the yard or if they behave they can laze on the couch in the dog lounge (yes they have their own lounge room ) We can talk dogs or whinge about men..

There are NO fenced dog parks or ovals near me. There's a terrific one in Carlton which is too far from me to use, but I wish all ovals were fenced like that one.

It makes me cry seeing the images of those poor neglected dogs I want to rescue every single one of them.

Oh, that's a fair trip but knowing Jan she will know someone who knows someone who knows someone else in every suburb in Melbourne God love her. Oh she soundly like a lovely person to go to so much trouble. I'd probably manage half way, but I am a hopeless driver and get lost easily LOL Looks like he wasn't meant to be mine in the end
