My OH doesn't have a dog and won't because he wants a large farm type breed and we live in the suburbs.
-
He has apparently fallen in love with his new grandma LOL He is allowed on the couch and in the BED!!! ;) I had a bit of cry as he left.. he watched me through the car window all the way to the end of the street. I think the spoiling he is being given will keep his mind off the confusion though (fingers crossed).

Thanks what's most important is that Ollie will be happy. She's already made a bed for him in anticipation lol he will be the king of the house there.

I have an exciting update here http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=212880&hl=

I'm so happy for Ollie and my good friend. She is giving him a forever home and doesn't live far from me either. My friend is a true dog lover and lives with her elderly Mum who is home 24/7 so he will never be lonely. They had a boxer who died recently at 14 (from memory) years old due to cancer. My friend thinks this is fate. I do too I am feeling so much better about re-homing him now that I know where he will be. He is going to be such a happy little puggy.

Thanks again everyone for your support, it is helping so much. I have asked puggy puggy if I will be able to have updates etc. I'm just waiting to hear back on all of the details. I will keep everyone posted. Today Ollie is enjoying eating a roo stick lol if it doesn't rain I will take him to the park too. ;)

Oh wow..shocking. I knew it was bad, but didn't realise to what extent until seeing those shots.

Thanks for everyones support ♥ Jed- I am hoping his foster home is able to "fix" his bad habits before finding him a forever home.. or at least find a home who doesn't mind a dog who will poo and pee all over their house. Also, I hope they find a family who knows the breed so they don't get any "nasty" surprises and he is left looking for another place again.

LMAO you should get a bigger shower.
-
Well I don't feel as abnormal now LOL

Has anyone here done it? I have I used dog shampoo of course, but it was so much easier than using the laundry tub and getting my clothes all wet and dirty. The dogs like it too :D

have you at least let the breeder know? By all means if he is making your life and your son's life a misery, through no ones fault, rehome him but I think the breeder should be in the loop. Yes I phoned them first to let them know.

Thank you persephone ♥

It feels so crappy still :D I feel like I have let him down. I have to not go back on my decision this time though. It's drawing out the inevitable really.

For months and months now my DH has been asking me to re-home Ollie. I haven't been able to bring myself to doing it because I feel like a failure to be honest. I have tried house training him, used belly bands, sprayed him with water, stood outside for hours on end with him on a lead on the grass, used dog repellant etc etc but he is simply un house trainable.. well no.. I suck at training him :D My son and I have been getting allergies during this high allergy season and we got tested and we are allergic to his saliva, which is fine, until his sneezes on us, which being a pug, he does every time we pat him. My son is ok, he just doesn't pat him, but I can't resist that face and when he is near me, my hand as a mind of it's own and starts patting him and then my face somehow ends up near his and then sneeze :D Then there's the shedding issue. My house and yard has fur everywhere. The yard is worse because I can't exactly vacuum outside then any wind sends it blowing everywhere. I think that is what is bothering DH the most. I Furminate him, have tried vacuuming him (useless) professional grooming, sardines in his food, fish oil and regular brushing, but his fur just keepis coming out. I have considered having him clipped but I have been adviced against it. So the final decision has been made, with the help of ~Annes~ common sense. As she said, pugs are happy where ever they go as long as they have food. I am sure he will be well looked after. He would probably be happier elsewhere anyway because I suck ;) Anyway, puggy puggy is organizing for him to go to Foster care on Wednesday. I have 4 more days left with my little buddy. I'd really appreciate if people would just tell me I have done the right thing. Talking me out of it will just have me keep him here for another few months and then I will be back to square one. I was going to send him back to the breeder but decided Pug rescue would find him a better suited home. Just some support and hugs would be appreciated.

My son's eczema and lips have cleared up. I am pretty sure now it was from rolling in the grass when we went to Maroondah dam last weekend. He has been around the dogs a lot since then but his lips still cleared. My asthma is still bad though. The doctor thinks it's still from the pneumonia though and that it can take 6 months to properly recover.

Thanks noisymina Chewbacca, I described my symptoms and my sons and he listened to my chest and said.. it's allergy season and it's worse then usual this year with the air pollens. That was about all *shrugs*
-
Anne, he does have a lions main. Christina, the doctor didn't offer an allergy test, but I will go back next week and demand one. There is a self service doggy wash in the Basin, so I will go there and try it out. If that doesn't do the trick I'll go into Lilydale
-
I took the dogs (and skinkids) to the Maroonadah dam last weekend and we had a BBQ lunch. While eating, I tied the dogs up in a shaded area away from the food. I had to constantly keep an eye on them though because there were tourists there taking photos of Ollie and pointing at him, patting him, laughing at him etc etc I guess in some parts of the world, pugs are rare *shrugs* Ollie does seem to attract a lot of attention when we go out. Most people mentioned the Men in Black movie I do get worried that he will get stolen though.
-
Yep that's what the doctor said. He reckons it's air pollens. I'm keeping Ollie. He also said that loose fur can irritate the skin, but it's not an actual allergy unless we get hives from touching him, which we don't. I'm going to have Ollie hydrobathed and take him to the vet in Bentliegh to check out the shedding issue and make sure he hasn't got an underlining health problems.
-
YES!!! I have a pair of lovebirds, although I have had them for over 8 years and this issue has only cropped up in the past 2 years.
-
I've never been allergic to dogs before. I've also never been near a dog which sheds this much. Miley has a normal coat and when I hug and pat her I don't get a hand full of fur each time. She also doesn't sneeze all over my face. If it's the saliva causing the allergy, then it could be from Ollie sneezing on me (he sneezes as a sign of affection). Anyhoo, I won't be re-homing him unless all other avenues fail. Finger crossed I can sort this out.
-
I should take a preventer, but I need to get a new one as the one I have it out of date. I hadn't had asthma in 12 months so thought I had gotten rid of it. I'm seeing the doctor today with my son I'm also getting Ollie hydrobathed as soon as I can get him in.

Yeh I'll get a camel that'll teach him.
