  1. Well I guess it also depends on the breed of dog that will be joining your family. Most would be happy with what you have suggested - regular walks will help simulate your dogs mind & 5 hours it's much in a week.
  2. I know the Crufts Schedule is Thursday 10 March 2011 Gundog Friday 11 March 2011 Working & Pastoral Saturday 12 March 2011 Terrier & Hound Sunday 13 March 2011 Toy & Utility I really wanted to see dancing with dogs as I have heard it is amazing, but I can't seem to find what day they are on...
  3. Always very sad to read when a dog passes, but it is always heartbreaking to read they leave so early. My thoughts are with you.

Sorry to read of your terrible loss, my thoughts are with you
  5. Thinking of you, it is never easy to say goodbye, may she run free over the rainbow bridge
  6. O so true, they have so much love to give, and no matter how bad your day may be they are always there to put a smile on your face and give you a big hug. ~ My dogs are my kids, I love them so much ~ Thank you for posting this, even though I too have seen this many a times I love reading it.
  7. I decided to enter Thursday (Spare of the moment thing), think I am crazy as the only option for me is flying. We have of VIC Samoyed Speciality on Sunday the 8th and Samoyeds exhibited at the Royal on the 9th... I have never been to the Brisbane Royal, but I am sure it would be fun!
  8. Ok I am a little excited and I know it is ages away, but it has been a goal of mine to attend Crufts and I have decided next year I am going  . We exported a puppy "Miss Sylvi" to Italy at the end of April, she has been successful and traveling allot (I'm very jealous) Germany, Slovenia etc, so I thought it is a good excuse to go visit her Who has been to Crufts? Is anyone else going next year? Any advice? Tips? Must do's? don't's? We are planning on doing some additional travelling, so suggestions and ideas are welcome. We hope to include as much as possible.
  9. Hi FranCQ here is the website, but I believe entries closed Friday http://www.cccq.org.au/2010-Royal-Qld-Show.aspx
  10. I know there are a number of websites with Judges CV's on them. They generally advise where they have judged, what breeds/groups they hold licences for etc. If your friend isn''t on there I'd suggest to start a profile. It is an invitation though!
  11. I agree Also Depending on your age Junior handlers is a great way to learn and I am always happy to lend one of my dogs.
  12. Fabulous entry for Group 1 that is a lot of dogs, I am surprise they haven't spilt them considering most are around the late 90's, early 100's. Ah well Good luck all attending!
  13. I am entered, but I am pretty sick so I am not sure if I will make it... bathing and drying dogs isn't fun when your sick! But regardless I wish everyone the best of luck ~ good entry ~
  14. You're still in my thoughts and prayers Jed. Glad to hear you are improving day by day... May the love and support that surrounds you, continue to make you strong. xox

    Samoyed

Aww they normally cry the first night or two, different place away from their sibblings and mum but they do adjust quickly... glad to hear you didn't give in. It is 10 times worse when people give in and then PUPPY rules hehe as I am sure your breeder explained. All the best with the little man!
  16. Well said Alison. I was going to comment before but Troy might have banned me forever. ;) ;) I like Bulla and it is improving all the time. I really enjoyed being able to watch the group runoffs yesterday. Apparently the the way the BI went is very common overseas. I am a fan of Bulla, and in time it will be as good if not better than KCC park, many people forget how bad the park really was prior to its improvements ;) I was super excited about this weekend, only to find out I had to work Sunday ;) . In regards to the Group format I thought it was a nice change 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th - very much like overseas, Congratulations to all winners too. I don't believe it was very well explained in the gazette and running the minors & puppies off to get best puppy was a little confusing to most exhibitors, but a nice change to watch all the best in groups and announcements... Great for the general public if in attendance to get to know the different breeds. I love the idea of the sweepstakes but didn't like the juding format. I think that it should be one judge to judge the whole sweepstakes. You could still have the by groups format if you wish but get one judge to judge all dogs entered. For those that are not aware, the format was the group judge to judge the group sweeps. We already knew our judges opinion, we pay the extra money to enter the sweeps it would be nice to get another opinion - it could have been the same result with a different judge but it is nice going into the ring not knowing who is going to win, I think it took the fun out of the sweeps. Overall great to see Bulla is improving every time we visit, I had a big smile on my face when pushing my trolley to my gazebo... allot easier.

    Samoyed

Congratulations Haza, I am sure you will have many wonderful years & wonderful memories together Are you planning on doing any activities with you new puppy? showing? herding? obedience? agility? tracking? etc
  18. thanks littlehoot, I too didnt get the breakdown - great entry looking forward to it All the Best everyone
  19. Sometimes if a lead is too tight it can make a dog throw its front, a loose lead gives the dog freedom to move naturally. As some have said above a loose lead can also show up a lot of faults... very interesting to watch some handlers
  20. So glad to hear the positive news Toohey, cant wait to hear from Jed
  21. My top Ten in no particular order - Samoyed - Shetland Sheepdog - Havanese - Newfoundland - Aussie Shepard - Beagle - Keeshond - Great Dane - Weimaraner - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Ok manybe the first 3 I have a super soft spot for
  22. I can't say I am a fan of Mr Burke's ideas, he is very opinionated and he has never been a fan of purebreed dogs (which is a shame). Well done for trying to enlighten him! Hopefully it will make him think, but I wouldn't hold your breath
  23. It is nice to know everyone worked as a team in assisting these beutiful animals. I really commend everyone in QLD that have been quick to assist
