  1. What about a turkey neck? I haven't tried this with mine though. Mine gets the occasional beef bone, lamb flap and regular chicken necks.
  2. RIP Crystal What a lovely tribute to a much cherished family member
  3. I am very sorry for your loss. We lost our beloved staffy x when my daughter was 3 1/2 years old. I agree with Kendall that telling a young child their pet has gone to sleep may be confusing for them. In the research I did following our loss, most of the literature recommended against this because then the child may become frightened of going to sleep themselves. They think they will never wake up too. We told our daughter our dog had gone to heaven and that we may see her another day, when we go to heaven but that wont be for a long time yet. We also told her our dog was now free of pain and happily running in a grassy paddock. Our daughter asked lots of questions about this as this was her first loss. I have lots of photos around of our dog and sometimes our daughter will stop and look sadly at one of them but then say something like - I miss Rhoda, but she is happy now. You have suffered a traumatic loss. Give her lots of hugs and allow her to grieve too.

  10. It certainly doesn't sound too promising. Poor pup, he would of had a great life with you guys!
  11. Yellow labradors are great dogs, but with any breed they need training and socialising. Yes a pup may nip and jump and it is up to you to teach him/her acceptable behaviour. You only get out what you put in. If you are prepared to make time for training and socialising then I don't see any reason to wait. The children also need to be educated about their behaviour around the dog though. Maybe you could look into a mature aged dog who has passed the puppy stage. Talk to some breeders for some advice. Goodluck
  12. Oh my Tokkie, Nandi has grown, hasn't she! Love her outfit!
  13. Pele won "Best Tricks" for the 2nd time Yellowgirl and gorgeous little Maddie won a few prizes too I agree that the timing of the event wasn't good as everyone is showed out :p Yeah Pele!!! I took my daughter and she had a ball meeting and patting all of the dogs. Unfortunately I had to go to work, so had to leave at about 1230. It was nice to see so many DOLers. I have never seen an irish wolfhound, wow are those guys big!! I was keeping an eye out for Nandi, but couldn't find her. Maybe cos she is sooo little!!
