Hi! I recently rehomes an 8 month old pointer puppy to a fabulous home. When she took him into her work (she is a vet nurse) the vet told her he has tight hips and crepitus in his elbows... Remembering he is a largish breed and will do alot of growing in the next 3 months or so, should I be worried?? Should I be directing her to send him back?

“is It Time To Introduce A Spitz Group In Australia?”.
Zensu replied to Bjelkier's topic in General Dog Discussion
I agree with Bisart in geneeral about group three.. the only breed that i sometimes question is American Cockers - i think they could easily be put in group 7. -
if anyone has a spare minute.. would love to see it too! [email protected]

Curiosity question.... When you use an outside stud, or have your dog used by someone, when do you expect the stud fee to change hands?? At mating? birth of puppies? when puppies leave home?? Just want some opinions before i start jumping up and down LOL

sahes arent rerally that expensive... having just recently ordered sashes for our club. For an All Breeds club, a Tri Coloured Sashes (the big pretty ones) are just under 10 dollars. and these aren't used for all Classes and BIG/RUBIG usually. The other types are substantially less. I think $10 for a Class in group is very fair In SA, we only recieve prizes for BIG. RUBIG, Baby and Puppy... the other classes only get a sash

Welcome to breeding pointers!! They arent an easy breed to rehome. We recently had two large litters of Pointers - Nine in one litter (now 12 weeks) and Eight in the other (now 4 weeks). Luckily we have now found homes for the 12 puppies was was looking to place. We are crazily running on five in total for now. Most of our enquires were from word of mouth or DOL. I find it is much easier to have orders prior to breeding a litter or pointers. There are alot of rumours about old time breeder culling pointer puppies (and other hard to rehome breeds) at birth to managable size litters - i personally could never bring myself to do this though. Good Luck!! I send some enquires your way!

I recently had an enquiry about using my dog from another breeder in my state. I think this is the more difficult enquiry to deal with! At the end of the day you are helping to produce your competition - like it or not, we are all out there to win. I was happy for my dog to be used, and happy for them to keep whatever they wanted, but asked them not to sell other show puppies within SA - pet puppies fine, other states not fussed. They didnt like the conditions, thats cool, they didnt use my dog, and we are still on good terms.
