Can anyone point me in the direction of photos taken at these show? I know there were quite a few photographers and would love to see some pic! We had a fantastic time at these shows and hope to return next year! -
Success! As the value was less than $1000.00 the charges were minimal, only a quarantine fee and a paperwork fee, less than 300 dollars total!

Ok, just an update..... I spent the better part of 4 hours on the phone today to every agency I could think on under the sun... Customs, toll, border security etc. when questioned, not one of them said I was expected to pay GST providing the estimated value was under $1000.00 So my advice would be to make sure you say your import was a gift, or is worth less than their cut off of $1000.00 Grace flys in tomorrow, so will be interesting to see the over all charges. Wish us luck!

Hi! Has anyone imported from NZ into Melbourne in the last couple of weeks?? I have imported several times, but have been told today to expect atronomical charges for GST. Has anyone brought a puppy in to Melbourne in the last few weeks, who can help give me an idea of what to expect?

Just curious wit the Junior Handler COmpetition.. With the ANKC Handlers ( I realise it is in no way connected to DOL, but in SA I would estimate that 95 percent of the Junior heats are run by the ANKC Committee as qualifiers for Finals.) One a Junior wins three heats they are then in eligible to go in the heats anymore... so in theory, it is possible for someone to win without ever winning a heat if they are consistantly placed 2nd or 3rd?

It depends onthe breed specialist judge... I like to enter (and hopefully win) under a specialist judge who has awesome dogs that I admire. Is winning under a "specialist" judge with ordinary dogs that bigger deal?? JMHO

I am currently advertising two retired show dogs - i've had them advertised for about 6 weeks and have dozens of enquiries, but none have been the "right" homes, I'm not in a rush, I just want the perfect forever homes to come along. I had an email yesterday from a couple stating they already had a 13 year old male Pointer and were looking for a replacement for their other 13 year which had just passed away. They explained their home situation and it seemed great. I replied and explained the the boy I have is too exhuberant for a 13 year old Pointer, and being male their could be issues but the female I have available owuld be perfect. I get their reply this morning saying they dont want a female dog and will go ahead with the male dog, how much and when can they pick him up. FFS! Seriously people! Anyone else had any enquiries like this?

The puppy has never been lame, it was a "routine" examination when she was organising heartworm prevention. Will advise a second opinion. Thanks!
