  1. If your Vet has never struck this before then I would be looking for a Repro specialist who has, or take her to a Specialist Centre where the anaesthetic monitoring techniques will be top notch. FWIW I would go back in to have a look too. If you are in Vic I can make recommendations.
  2. Isn't this for male dogs? Can be used on bitches and has been quite successfully, just depends on hormone levels as to when you can give it.
  3. Would it be worth thinking about Suprelorin for this girl?? I do know Vets who have gone looking for leftover bits of Ovary (in cats even) and have found it, so there is hope.
  4. Ness knows about most of the Clubs in SA- PM her.
  5. You would still go to *that* site, it wouldn't matter. Then because laffi and leopuppy weren't here to support your addiction, you would turn to me to try and put me into bankruptcy. ;)
  6. SwaY - Great Dane / Smokey - Dally Club Saturday 6th JUNE 2009 Rebanne - Greyhound / Fern - Dally Club Saturday 6th JUNE 2009 Gayle-Australian Shepherd / Benson - Sale 4th July 2009 Staffntoller- Toller / Geordie - Hungarian Vizsla Club 23rd May 2009
  7. Actually scratch my earlier comments too- I think that with the dollar it will be cheaper to buy my tunnel snuggers from agilityclick. Thanks.
  8. I'm going to PM you Laffi, just wanting a few things. Can't help myself! Mel.
  9. If there are any sheepy tugs made of real squirrel- Geordie will have 5 please.
  10. I have 2 excellent Cav's in one of my puppy classes so I will find out for you next Monday. One of them I would steal for agility she is so awesome!! She offers sits, drops and jumps onto my surface trainer with no cues, then stares at you expectantly for treats.
  11. Maintenance fluids are 60ml per kilo per day- that is over a 24 hour period. If she is eating wet food you won't see her drink much, I would think that she probably is drinking but only small amounts each time so it is not that noticeable. Mel.
  12. I have to teach this by Saturday on a flat board. Was going to start tonight.
  13. I'm so glad she thought about what you said Kelpie-i. A good friend of mine said to me only a couple of weeks ago after acquiring an adult Lab and a pup about 12mths later...."I thought when you told me all about how Labs were you were saying all of that because you disliked Labs, now I realise everything you said was true!!" The dogs are in no danger of course, but it just goes to show when I was only being brutally honest her perception of what I was telling her was different. Mel.
  14. I know that the Vizsla Club is at KCC park. Do peoples in Vic know where the other ones are held? (Apart from the Sale one I know where that is).
  15. It's not your desexed female cat that is the problem - you need to desex the tom!!!
  16. In general the first reaction is to always assume the dog is fussy, but I think perhaps it's a good idea to run a full blood profile on her. Maybe this was just coincidental that it happened at the same time as desexing and there is something else going on such as low grade pancreatitis?? We also had a Labradoodle who was suddenly iffy on his food and on endoscopy we found a few pieces of a foam and plastic toy floating around in the stomach. He was still eating etc. and was only vaguely off colour but the toy pieces were irritating the lining of the stomach hence the problem. At least if it's all perfectly normal you know for sure AND you have a set of baseline values for your dog for future reference if they do become ill. Mel.
  17. Yep I do notice the difference when she is not on them, seems stiffer and she complains a bit more. She has regular cartrophen injections and Chiro treatments occasionally as well, but she can't have NSAID's due to previous stomach surgery. ETA: I used Technyflex for quite some time whilst Advance were not making the arthri-care chews, just be sure to price the PAW GLM with your Vet as you might find it's cheaper. Mel.
  18. Extremely effective here, my Staffy girl has elbow dysplasia and arthritis from a patella surgery and I find it better than the other Gluc/Chond for it's anti-inflammatory properties. You can get it in capsules- Pure Animal Wellbeing and Technyflex brands, Advance pet foods have it as Arthri-Care Chewies (they're what I use) and Royal Canin have it in therapeutic amounts in their Mobility Support dry food. Mel.
  19. The groomer attached to the Mt Evelyn Veterinary Clinic breeds Toys, so I would assume she has had some experience...give them a call and find out.
  20. Thanks for the post rommimum, it's good to hear some real life experiences.
  21. Hmmm no....it might be worth talking to a Veterinary Cardiologist about it though.
  22. Hollard is the underwriter for most Pet Insurance Companies here right now. I did manage to get the spreadsheet that was published in The Veterinarian magazine, it just needs adding to and reformatting. Mel.
  23. I imagine where LP works (not the training business part) 99.9% of phone calls of that nature are *stupid people questions* so hats off to her because I couldn't do it.
  24. Midol you're already doing a course with some Veteran trainers who use the most humane methods to teach protection dogs so why the question?? Move to Melbourne if it interests you that much.
  25. I have needed one for quite some time to stop my cat racing out the front door.
