I think I'm about 2 weeks in after the changeover. As good as the Veterinary adult RC they were on, not much change in waste volume, but they are both premium foods so I wasn't expecting that. Maybe their coats are looking a bit better...will see in a few more weeks. Delivery was 1-2 days early which was great, I'm very happy with it, it smells fresh and 'clean' IYKWIM. I will probably grab a bag for my kittehs as well.

Help! Sore Neck & Back
Staff'n'Toller replied to silentchild's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Book in to see Ray anyway, he does some Chiro work and should be able to guide you re: Xrays. It's helpful to know everything in the spine is ok, with acute pain it can be disc prolapses or meningitis (rare but we see it) and you wouldn't want to cause more pain by doing Chiro at that stage. -
Constipation.... My Boy Has It!
Staff'n'Toller replied to Sunnyflower's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
A lot of people say their dogs are constipated when they actually have a bit of gastro and the bowel is empty. If it is constipation and he is an older dog, it is worth a Vet check anyway, it can be prostate related. -
Just saved yourself a few hundred.

Dog Registration - Help Needed Describing Colour
Staff'n'Toller replied to koalathebear's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would put chocolate. Rangers aren't colour experts in most cases. They probably wouldn't be able to see your dog was a pure Kelpie either. I would never put tri-colour as to me, tri is black/tan/white and I would wonder if it was the wrong dog registered for this description. -
Where did you get your GL Treat Pouch from. I have googled it but the only online shops seem to be overseas. http://www.petexpertise.com/dog-training-a...ning-pouch.html I did a big order from them, Jess is good to deal with. It's possible though, that I bought my first one from Jenny Ireland Pet Products in SA- I'm pretty sure that was the case otherwise I wouldn't have known they were good (to order from the US). ETA: One of them I have had for 5 years now, have not had to oil the hinges and it's still great.
-
I was just there today, but next time I go see them I will pass it on. I have gentle leader treat pouches which look the same as Erny's and I think the hinges are different to what Blackdog have so I will mention it to them.
-
Oh and if you're like me, and thinking of putting one or two tennis balls into the regular sized pouch and closing the hinge, I discourage it...no good will come of that.
-
I have one of these black dog pouches & even after putting vaseline on the hinges, it still snaps shut on my fingers Doesn't actually hurt but is very off putting & now my dog knows in advance that I am getting the treat ready as she can feel my whole body tensing against the "snap" I prefer to use the pocket of my trousers but then they get a bit smelly. The hinges on the blackdog pouches do need oiling occasionally, sewing machine oil (1 drop) or olive oil is probably better than vaseline. If you are having other problems then just give them a call or email them, they do replacement hinges and I'm absolutely positive they would be happy to work out something if you are unhappy with their product. :D If they don't know they can't help you.

Dry Food That Does Not Contain Wheat, Corn Or Soy?
Staff'n'Toller replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sounds like it's time. -
I guess it could work...but if he doesn't like the cold kennel, and you are at work, he has no where else to go but outside in the heat. A dog door would cost you less electricity and reduce his chances of being stolen.
-
They can be easy to clean if you have one of these. :D

At least you're trialling I however, need to work out how to get a Toller to understand 2o2o.

Darwin Obedience Clubs
Staff'n'Toller replied to DaisyDog's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Don't quote me but I think Fred's Pass is where some dol'ers go? If you don't get many responses you may actually have to ask Troy nicely if you can post in off topic as that's where most of the Darwin people hang out. :p -
Dry Food That Does Not Contain Wheat, Corn Or Soy?
Staff'n'Toller replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dogs are liking it but they will eat Hills or probably anything else I put down so that's not a great indication for anyone. I feel happier though that they are getting something similar to Eagle Pack when RC is getting so expensive and I'm not sure they look much different to when they were eating corn based food. I may also get the cat version in my next order...just trying to work out where to store 20kgs of kitteh food. -
Thanks for the heads up on this, Bully - I've been thinking about getting that book for years, but haven't got around to it - just ordered it - too good a bargain to miss. Thanks. Beware! This book may change life as you currently know it. Happy to have my life changed, my agility training is a f***ing disaster right now!

Frustration At Training Classes
Staff'n'Toller replied to cocoa's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
What is your general area? You don't have to be be specific, perhaps we can see if there's anyone around who runs smaller, more positive based training classes. -
Ask for a referral to a K9 Physio! That's how you get the best outcome.

Eagle Pack Supply Issue
Staff'n'Toller replied to natamalie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Ehh...that always gives me bad vibes, like the company is waiting for an excuse to pull out of exporting here. I was told that Golden Eagle was coming, but this was over a year ago and that rumour may or may not be true because whilst I know who told me, I can't credit them or their sources at all. Fingers crossed I guess. -

I was told Golden Eagle was using the old Eagle Pack recipes also. By some people involved with the importing I think.. -

Black Hawk Holistic Dog Food
Staff'n'Toller replied to pinky11's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I actually hope you don't do anything to the bags, we are livid at our Vet Clinic that one particular brand reduce their bag size, change all the bag designs when there was nothing wrong with the previous design AND put up their prices. We nearly stopped stocking it for that reason.
